The name Genesis claims the eternal outline of creation. To me this clearifies all things good are within God's light. It clearifies plants, anamials, all that is good are of God's great plan. Made in our likeness, solidifies that male and female are the reflection of the fullness of God's creation, after His likeness. Male and female in all things, including the seed within its self of the plants of the field. The one Divine God in which all things are made in His light. What man has chosen to become is unlike this likeness, so God's plan of redemption, is set forth in His son, and the Holy spirit, through reformation, we can reclaim our heritage as children of God. In this light we find salvation from the distortions or darkness of the world of man, in which have days, and years. Eternal life is the ultimate of God's perfect plan, unfolding in grace, beauty, and joy, reflecting His pure and powerful Love. I do not see how it can be put any better then it is outlined here.

The fact that you DIDN'T read it as fact or fact proven indicates your soul is in mortal danger. Please reconsider your reading of, not only the first book of the Bible, but the entire Bible as the Gospel.
  • Barrney Popkin on Genesis 1 - 15 years ago
I read it as prologue to a bigger story, like say Chaucer's Canterbury Tales, not so much as gospel or as factual pro batum or probatum est probatum est.

Tell me about it, "Enzo". A whole lot of "worldly" education spouting a whole lot of nothing. I am very sad to say that the only reason I got a higher education in the first place is so I could get a worthwhile job. It turns out that much of what I was "taught" was total nonsense, such as you see in many of the comments below. Sad... Jesus is about to return, and all people can talk about are dreams and nightmares...

The word in of Gen!;1 is where a God that is everwhwere would go to distinguish the diference between everywhere and nowhere thus creating somwhere called in.where God could begin to sort things that caused a blind lack of direction from things that brought the focus of the children of Israel in upon the One God who had been since the begining sorting Light from darkness thus drawing the wandering Israelites scatered by egyptian polytheism to that one tru light somewhere in God
  • Enzo on Genesis 1:8 - 15 years ago
As usual a nonsensical explanation of illogical facts told for credulous ignorant people.
Read well and see how many stupidity & contradictions there are.

it is my comprehesion and belief to be the truth that in/by God's Grace we are saved through the personal acceptance we each make of our saviour Christ Jesus and the Blood he spilled on the cross for us, and i also get it that the Law was given (made known) to man via Moses per the old testement, but the fulfilment of the prophecy's by the life and death of Christ Jesus, his ministry and the new testement reveal that we are to Love the one true God, our heavenly father and creator and to love our neighbor as much as we do ourselves and upon those two precepts hang all the laws of the old testement (which I see as a kind of metaphor in that, as an everyday reminder of God's Law we have 10 fingers hanging of 2 arms/hands for everthing we touch as we do 10 toes hanging off 2 legs/feet for every step we take), ...however my thought is I find it very interesting that in Gen 1:26-27 we are shows "-26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over... and so he did both male and female" which i also note at the end of the day(6th) he saw that it was not just good like the first 5 but "very good" ... whereas my point being, as Genisis 1 ends we see that we/mankind are created by God, in (their) God's image and likeness, of which is 'very good' we then see a remarkable change in the descriptive writing after Gen 2:3 right through to the end of the old testement... and that is God is know reffered to as LORD God which is peculiar because if anyone who studies commerce knows to add a title especially a fully capitilzed one is to refrence Commerce/Commercial entity, like how your NAME is written on a birth certificate, Drivers Licence and Credit cards etc, which also sort of verifies Gen 1 whereas we are made in his image and likeness meaning we should know how to truly be with one another but from Gen2:4 onwards its the creation of the PERSON (or generation of Adam) mankind's fall from grace....

"Man was the last animal created" (John N. Clayton). Man are not animals!"So God created man in his [own] image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them." ( Genesis 1:27)

This world is no dream, nor is it an experiment of aliens needing gold or slaves. Those needing gold and slaves are U.S. and world governments. They need this Earth for their power. But, they've lost it all.

If you gain the whole world and lose your soul, of what profit is it.
  • Ryan on Genesis 1 - 15 years ago
@G_d Supporter. The complexities a woman offers man after marriage shows you that God exists? Ridiculous.
  • Mercy on Genesis 1 - 15 years ago
Genesis portrays the Word of God bin all powerful.by His word, all came to be ad that gives me the courage to always rely on His word.believe that wen He says He wil never fosake me,that its the truth, wen He tels me 2ask ad He shal give,i ask knowin He shal not fail me.have also learnt that,no matter the situation that am in that His presence is in vicinity.just like He hovered over the earth wen it was void ad formless,i believe that in all situations of difficulties in myself that He is present ad therefore i nid not worry.

    To G_d Supporter:

May I make the following observation regarding your comments. First, in your words, "We have to sacrifice our selves for the freedoms we enjoy here in America and so will we need to make sacrifices to claim our inheritance from G_d." I must take exception. We are saved by grace, not by anything we can do or sacrifice for to claim our inheritance from God. Secondly, Arnold Murry, while being quite a scholar of the Bible, espouses that the Rapture of the church is nothing more than a fairy tale. Although he means well, he is nonetheless leading many people into a false belief that will have some people more than confused if one really studies the bible and finds therein, many passages to substantiate the existance of the Rapture of the church.

Ashley Reid: What ARE you talking about? Dreams and Nightmares. Is that what you think this is all about? My dear friend... please PLEASE read God's word. It is much more clear than what you are trying to say.

i am not one to openly dislike many things as i would like to know al sides and pass judgment with all factors included. xore: mathmeticians arent scientists and the chances you gave are for a single cell, consider this, there were 10^117 cells in the deep caves and oceans (however minute they may be) all that was need was for one to alter just right to start surviving off the other cells and evolution would proceed as planned. also we havent found everything on the Earth yet so there is still a chance of finding some definite piece of evidence. that said i still believe it is also possible for god to exist and have created the world, although i doubt it was as simple as explained here.
ETOCHIE'S PRECIOUS: kindly realize that what you hust said hints at humans bieng able to become Gods, and also realize that energy cannot be created, only changed, so i more prefer the clock theory, that God wound up the clock and let it go, then science and religion can stop fighting as god
could have creates the big bang or strings or altered a large amount of energy into matter. if he did the latter i would like to know ho because that would be awesome.

IF MERE MORTALS CAN INVENT ALL THE THINGS THAT HAVE BEEN INVENTED TODAY, HOW THEN DO SOMEONE THINK IT IS IMPOSIBLE FOR GOD TO BE THE CREATOR OF HUMAN AND THE UNIVERSE. LET US BE REALISTIC PLS
  • Xore on Genesis 1 - 15 years ago
However evolution has no evidence of transitional species in the fossil record but the fossil record shows species appearing suddenly just what creationism says. Also the chance of amino acids and proteins arranging themselves from the organic *soup* into the first reproducing microrganism is 10 to the power of 117. Mathematicians discard any theory which it's chance is over 10 to the power 50 of being real.
  • Chris on Genesis 1 - 15 years ago
Maybe man at that time was not capable of understanding the science behind God's work. Evolution states that life began in water, and so does Genesis. "20 And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life, and fowl [that] may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven."
21 "And God created great whales, and every living creature that moveth, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that [it was] good."
  • Angie on Genesis 1:26 - 15 years ago
This scripture proves that Jesus was in heaven with Jehovah during creation. Hence "in OUR image."
  • Pgilliam on Genesis 1 - 15 years ago
We were created. Plain and simple. Earth was here billions of years. God has not beginning. Jesus Christ has a prehuman existance. We will never know all the knowledge of God. If you could explain that a literal house wa built by humans, how come it hard to believe that the universe and all that's in it was created by God?
  • JOEW on Genesis 1 - 15 years ago
BOBBYJ. THAT WOULD BE A GOOD INDICATOR THAT THE WATER WAS ALREADY HERE, MAYBE FROM A FLOOD BEFORE THE (RE)CREATION? I AM NOT AN EXPERT BUT IT NEVER SAYS WHEN THE WATER WAS CREATED AND THERE IS A TIME GAP THERE THAT NO ONE KNOWS HOW LONG
  • Justin on Genesis 1 - 15 years ago
Are you Taking anything for Granted these days, and if So what is Precious to you?
  • Dave on Genesis 1 - 15 years ago
Nick, with all due respect, are you saying God was wrong to give Adam male and Adam female dominion? Have you ever wondered why He would do that?

BobbyJ, have you ever wondered why God commanded Adam male and Adam female to replenish, or repopulate the earth?

    Things to ponder.
  • Sunday on Genesis 1 - 15 years ago
NICK> God gives man dominion over the fish of the sea for the sake of man. God does not reasonably give power over them. Without control there would be no reason.
  • Nick on Genesis 1 - 15 years ago
in the 26th verse it gives man dominion over the fish and the fowl. Then in verse 28 it again says dominion over the fish and the sea and the fowl and over every living thing. now how does that make us equal with everything else? Why would "God" give man power over every living creature? that seems illogical, we should coexist not control.
  • BobbyJ on Genesis 1:2 - 15 years ago
How could God move upon the face of the water if water wasn't created yet? I thought the first thing God created for man was light? I do realize angels and satan were already present from the book of Revelation.
  • Richard on Genesis 1 - 15 years ago
Its amazing... he created the earth in the dark!
  • Minnie on Genesis 1:27 - 15 years ago
I believe that god create angels in his own image
male and female. And man was made from dust. We could never subdue the earth.
  • Joe on Genesis 1 - 15 years ago
    Walt:

AMEN. YOU ARE 100% CORRECT. HE LOVES US, AND HE GIVES US A CHOICE. IF WE REJECT HIM, WE GO TO HELL, PERIOD!!! IF WE ACCEPT HIM, WE GET ONE OF THE MANSIONS HE IS PREPARING FOR US RIGHT NOW. BLESSINGS....
  • Walt on Genesis 1 - 15 years ago
Genesis 1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

This is the beginning of wisdom. If you do not agree, you have not been shown. It is not a matter of who is right, the Bible is always right and man wrong. You have to ask Elohim for understanding. If you do not believe you shall die in your sins as Yah-shua has stated. The Father must bring you to the Son and the Son shall bring you to the Ancient of Days at the appointed time.
