I believe'works'could be something as simple as smiling at someone or something as grand as teaching people the true word of God, and everything in between that honors Him. IMHO

  • WHY BONES were left behind in the Earth - In Reply on Genesis 1 - 3 years ago
    Romans 1

19 Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them. [we see remains of things in the earth & know only God was here to do that]

20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, (we see the fossil remains) being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:

Scientists find the remains in the earth. One reason why; a mass extinction event? All of the dead material became oil; coal.

The bones were to show us THAT SOMEONE MADE ALL WE SEE AND KNOWand have eagerly dug up and built museums around it.

To this day, we are still searching for things God hid in the earth and oceans; space.

It all points to an intelligent Creator! What do we do? We go in search of hidden alien life forms.

Maybe they hid it under Antarctica? There was a recent story that scientists discovered tunnels under Antarctica. Whoopee! Maybe they used explosives on exploration__and now Antarctica is falling apart, and due to increase ocean levels and flood beaches. Once again, how do we save the earth?

Now we need the Creator to save us from huge errors of judgment. I hope they get saved and meet THE CREATOR: The Godhead.

Did you know that CONIES in the Bible are small creatures that survived the Asteroid that destroyed the dinosaurs? They burrowed under earths surface and we're able to find seeds to eat and stuff to stay alive on; till everything cooled. It's in the Bible; and scientists have confirmed it.

We were meant to find remains! If we can't see the evidence of a CREATOR, we're doomed to become extinct.

2 Peter 3. God is going to fully restore earth to the Garden of Eden. Get on board for that DAY.

    Mishael

Saved, I think the first 5 verses should answer your question. Genesis Chapter 1

1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.

3 And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.

4 And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness.

5 And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.

There was no light, only darkness. God created everything. Hope this helps.

Larry, it's a question about chronology. If you page forward to Genesis Chapter 2:4These are the generations of the heavens and of the earth when they were created, in the day that the LORD God made the earth and the heavens,

This means the rest of the chapter 2 is referring to what God performed the first 6 days in Chapter 1.

It dispels the notion that man was created before Adam and Eve. It's a continuum not a different creation, in other words it give a broader explanation of what he did in Chapter 1. Hope this helps.

Larry The why of replenish what I have gathered biblically there was a war in heaven when lucifer was thrown

out with his so-called comrades and one of his titles biblically is destroyer. When he was thrown out put into

darkness spiritually and ruin that which God set up originally. The only thing we have left from that time are

fossil remains and man does not really know all that occurred. Notice in Genesis God only created 3 times

the word created biblically is to bring something into existence which has never existed before and only God can create.

Genesis 1:1 1:21 and 1:27 because everything else was already there he had to set it in order notice God said

let there be light let there be a firmament let the earth bring forth grass let there be lights in the firmament

then God saw God set, so He was reorganizing that which His arch Enemy threw into confusion and turmoil. Was there something there before yes what kind of life was it who knows, but so far this is the only explanation I've

heard and studied that made sense. The word replenish is to fill be full or make full, this is also where the

evolution boys have heyday but they have too many gaps they cannot fill. Any other comments enjoy.
  • Bro. Steve - In Reply on Genesis 1 - 3 years ago
    Larry, I liked your comment.

Yes the passage in Gen.1:28 is most interesting to me as well. However, one of the dictionary meanings is a little more succinct I think when it reads, "to fill with persons OR animals". I believe, without a doubt, that animals (prehistoric) roamed the earth before man was created, since we have their fossils and bones to tell us so. I believe that when God gave Adam the animal kingdom to manage, that such is what we know it to be today. Isn't is possible that God's pleasure was to NOT create mankind midst a world of giant preditor-animals that would have had dominion over man?..and perhaps bring God more pleasure to give man the challenge to have dominion over animals that he could manage or contend with? This passage above seems to support the probability of pre-mankind animals (remains and fossils found in every continent of the earth). This would explain why man was mandated to multiply and replenish the earth, v.26-28.

    Hey Larry,

The word replenish; some use this translation to support the gap theory, also known as the Ruin-Reconstruction theory, which involves the necessity for God to recreate and re-fill the earth after a pre-Adamic race had perished as a result of an event called Lucifer's flood. Replenish is an Old English word that was used to mean fill, from the thirteenth to the seventeenth centuries. The view of fill repeatedly, thus fills completely, to make full, like a bucket of water.

Not saying there were not people before Adam and Eve, but God only created this world and universe once before He makes a new heaven and a new earth in the future.

    God bless,

    RLW

If there were no people on earth before Adam and Eve, why did God tell them to be fruitful and multiply and REPLENISH the earth? The word "replenish" implies there were others before. How do you REPLENISH something that wasn't there before?

Thank you for that scripture. I've read it multiple times in my quest to read the bible from front to back and never saw it in that light. I will use it along with other scriptures in the new testament to refute those that say we can't eat certain meats. It's all about not eating the blood.

Rick, you are so on it. I never thought about the way you broke my question down. I will cherish this explanation you replied to me. So true there is a physical and there is a spiritual light which Jesus said that we who are born again would be the light of the world.

I just became a member of this community today 12/29/2021, Wednesday and to get your response just makes me so so happy!

Be blessed my brother in Christ Jesus.
  • Rick - In Reply on Genesis 1 - 3 years ago
Saved My understanding is spiritual light Genesis 1:2 God turned on that which He is 1 John 1:5 God is light and in Him is darkness at all, because as you stated physical light came later, the word light in verses 14 +15 are

the word [maor for light giver] I.E. sun moon stars in the gospels and new testament the word for light is [phos or radiance ]I.E. in 1 Thessalonians 5:5 we are children of light or radiance. There is a physical and a spiritual light both

are products of the true God, and obviously spiritual darkness is the other side.

I just realized on the first day God created the heaven and the earth. Scripture goes on to say when God moved upon the face of the deep meaning in the beginning God; darkness and water which was deep God said, let there be light. So, then when I read verses 14 through 19, God made the sun, moon and the stars. So, I was asking God what kind of light was it on the first day? Does anyone in the community have a thought on my question? Thank you all. God bless.

    Hi Donna,

I came to this site a month or so ago to begin in Genesis. I completed it a week or so ago. I am going to begin Exodus beginning January 1st. So, we will be pretty current to one another in our study. That may be helpful to us! If you wish we can kind of keep in touch with each other as you go through Genesis. If you wish to go on to Exodus, then we can keep in touch for that, too.

I found it helpful to read the passage and to read the commentary and then to read all comments before I added a post.

Thanks for rewording your question. The works we do for God are not what we do in hopes of gaining salvation. Salvation is all of grace and God working in us. The works we do for God are our obedience to Him out of love for Him and worship of Him. This obedience is all the good we do in our lives for others and within ourselves to walk according to the Spirit of God. These works do not earn us anything before God, they are our offerings to Him that arise from our gratitude for all e has done and continues to do in and for us. These works can be summed up in the phrase "a life lived for God and His glory."

    Mr. Hurry,

It's put in Order of Table of Contents as in the front of hand held Bible, I know it was difficult for me too, to adjust at first There's also a search bar for words, phrases & even names. If you search for Jesus name in search bar add an additional word like Jesus heals. Is there anything particular you would like help finding? Like Jesus' life Matthew, Mark, Luke & John all are books that cover that. Prophecy about Jesus Psalms 22, Isaiah 53,. Especially after the first books I've noted.

    Creation, The flood, (Noah, = Genesis 6, - 9

    Moses = Exodus

    Hopefully this is helpful.

Why can't I search the whole bible, in one search, as in most cases, people do not know the book etc.?

I have known people who work at moving graveyards for Government purposes.

He said in several years span they have never found bones, teeth or any remains that they were able to tell a difference in it was all dirt. This would be older graves, when most were put in a wooden box. It is just moving a marker mostly.

You could say that the Big Bang had a cause outside of itself. It did not cause its own event. That is why I believe that the cause of the Big Bang was God who existed without time, matter, and other physical elements such as force, heat, light, gravity, etc.

Tammy This is easier than you might think, it is a theory not proven, the top scientific brains have admitted

there is a superior intelligence behind the universe but don't believe they will say God they may say a being

but they won't say God and yet the same people will celebrate the birth of Christ. Just proof that we put screen

doors in submarines mentally. Have fun God will show you what to say.
