Genesis tells a story of the begining of creation and its purpose although i have many questions such as before there was earth or heaven what was it. God had to created darkness and create light.and if God created heaven where was God before heaven.

Genesis chapter 1 v7 The time came when the Lord God formed a man body from dust of the ground.

although this was not the beganing of creation it was the most sufficient.it is the grand begaining of man kind

i had question who was Cains wife. i came to the conclusion due to Adam and Eve living along life period and was bless with having birthing many children Cain had to have married his sister.

The Spirit of God moved over the face of the waters, and God said "let there be light". I think the presence of God produced light. There is no need for sun or moon in Heaven for the glory of God illuminates brighter than the sun.

You're true Eva, vs 1 was the age where Lucifer was given to rule in his Eden of stones and dinosaurs,dragons etc lived until Lucifer sinned and fell with a third of the angels,murdering everything and God shut down that age. How many millions of years between vs 1 and vs 2, nobody knows until recreation started in vs 3. John1:1 should be placed before Gen1:1 then we could see the true sequence.

God created the living word, the word was in the biginning all the things which have breath. Not spoken or written. There is the word of God and the word of man. Man is a word of God, Jesus is a word of man.

Perhaps too much is being made of Genesis Ch1 Verse 3 "And God said, Let there be light: and there was light." I don't think God means that he created 'a light' at this point but only created the concept of light to act to push back the darkness. Perhaps the light, after he creates it, comes from his glory. Much the same way a worker might turn on a desk lamp to light his workbench.

Lesser light = the moon, Greater light = the sun. Daylight is warming, moonlight (reflected sunlight) is not. Simples.

In verse 3 ..And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. what kind of light he was talking about maybe Jesus ? obviously is not the light of the sun, because not until verse 14,15,16,17 and 18 God created the Sun , The Moon and the stars. so right at the beginning of creation god created a "light" in verse number 3.

Bro. Alex I do agree w/you on the quoted Joel 2:28-29 speaks of an out pour of the Holy Spirit. Again, Noah's Flood in the OT is literally a flood. I assumed her question spurred from Noah's Flood (Gen) the judgment on the earth for sin. Her question: Since the earth was flooded, how would the sinful earth be addressed next time? 2Peter 3:10. @ Jan, Verse 30 says that the green herbs are food for the animals.
"And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for meat"
So... herb bearing seed and fruit from seed bearing trees for the human and green herbs for the animals.
