Man, not man and women, was created first. Woman was created from the man, for the man.

There is no man/woman single being hermaphrodite in Scripture. They are completely seperate. In creation, purpose, goals/reason for existence.

I believe you are confused because the Genesis account jumps from a general description of Gods creation of everything including "mankind" ( both man, Adam, and eve, woman, to the specifics of their seperate creation, and the fall.

    Hello Fabian TAIMABRI,

    Genesis 1:27, notice: Genesis 1:26,28,29,

Genesis 2:7, interestingly here "formed, breathed life" is this symbolic of the Church the body of Christ to come? John 12:25, Genesis 3:22, John 5:26, John 5:24, John 3:36, John 6:48,54, Titus 1:2, Romans 8:6, John 5:39,

Is chapter 2, symbolic of the stewardship of GOD's Church? Genesis 2:15, Matthew 20:8, Luke 12:42, Mark 12,

Back to Genesis 1, "man appears to be collective for both" yes in name like human, humanity, humankind "man"

see even more interesting = Genesis 5:2,

GOD says distinctly female & male Genesis 1:27,

It appears it could be those created to multiply, fill the earth, subdue were away from the presence of GOD, again seeming to point to the symbolism in the garden "in the presence of GOD " His church. Genesis 3:8, Genesis 3:23-24, Genesis 4:14-16,

    Genesis 2:17, spiritual death? Matthew 8:22, Luke 9:60, Matthew 22:32, Matthew 23:27,

In the forming of Eve, it appears also specific, spiritual & special with symbolism, Genesis 2:21-25, Genesis 6:1-3, Mark 10:4-9, 1Corinthians 6:15, Revelation 21:2,9, Isaiah 62:5, John 3:29-36, Matthew 22, Luke 12:36, Ephesians 5:30-32,

    1Corinthians 13:9-12, James 1:5, Ephesians 3:4,

    Hopefully these are all helpful

    Hey Fabian,

First, I would like to say one truth that cannot be misinterpreted, or overlooked, after the flood all mankind are descendants of Adam and Eve. There was 1656 years from the creation of Adam to the flood and only 5 chapters of Genesis, a lot of things are not written. Tradition strongly holds Adam was the first man and says chapter 2 is a closer look of man in day six.

There are two Adams in scripture the first one was disobedient the last one was obedient, and the last Adam was manifested to undo the works of the devil. Was the first Adam part of this plan that Satan had no clue? Is that what the tradition overlooks? We see in 1 Corinthians 15:47 Adam was the first man, but it also says Jesus was the second man. Romans 5:14 the first Adam was a figure of the one to come.

Does scripture line up with the tradition of Adam and Eve being the male and female in day six without questions? The herbs and fruit trees in day 3 are seed yielding, they would reproduce themselves with no cultivation needed, all animals and man ate plants. In chapter 2 the plants were of the field they had to be cultivated, a garden has to be planted and tilled to grow.

In day 5 the fowls came out of the water. In chapter 2 there were fowls formed out of the ground and brought to Adam. Are they the same fowls? In day 6 the beast and cattle of the earth before man, in chapter 2 beast and cattle of the field after Adam. Are they the same? Look at the description of the words earth and field.

In day 6 man was told to be fruitful and multiply, fill the earth and have dominion over every living thing upon the earth. Could Adam and Eve obey these commandments from inside the garden?

There is more I could say, the only thing that cannot be denied mankind are descendants of Adam and the last Adam Jesus is from the line of Adam through Seth.

What would it change if Adam was not the first human? Nothing. Do we strain at a gnat and swallow a camel?

    God bless,

    RLW

Hi Fabian. Not two sets of people here. Though you're correct that Genesis 1:26,27 speaks generally about the creation of man & woman (showing the order of God's creative Work for each day of creation). But when we get to chapter 2, we read first that God rested on the seventh day "from all his work which God created and made." In other words, all of God's creative Work completed in those six days & so in chapter 2, verses 4 onwards, expands on a part of that creative work in chapter 1.

Genesis 2:4, "These are the generations of the heavens and of the earth when they were created, in the day that the LORD God made the earth and the heavens". "Generations" in the Hebrew can also mean 'account, order of begettings'. So in chapter 2, we're reading more detail of chapter 1, specific to the development of mankind. In Genesis 1:11,12, we read that God created the plants, but it seems that they were still sub-terranean, until man was created to till the ground & the mist sent by God to water them, then they began to grow. And of course, we read that man needed someone to help him & be a companion to him, hence the creation of Eve.

So, I read Genesis chapter 2 as an expansion of Genesis chapter 1 (the sixth day of creation), highlighting the need for cultivation & tending of God's plants, which man was appointed to do. Of course, mankind would eventually do much much more than being confined to farming work, but for Adam & Eve at that time, that was their sole responsibility.

    Hello,

There aren't two sets of people. Some confuse broad overview statements with detailed statements. For example, if someone told me "I was just in a car wreck! Someone hit me from the rear and broke my fender."

I could say to that person, "You were in two car wrecks? You just said you were already in a wreck in sentence 1, then in sentence 2 someone else hit you from the rear? Are you being truthful?"

And some use this assumption to falsely discredit the Bible. The misunderstanding is in how people deliver information. For instance Gen 1:1 is an overall thesis type statement of what happened. A broad overview. Then it goes back into detail of how it happened. Someone could use this to falsely assume that God was already done creating in verse 1, then proceeded to create even more earths. I hope you understand the point I am making about how people present information in a broad overview and then detail. It does not mean it is more than one thing, but a method of how people convey info. This occurs through the Bible- many examples. It also occurs in most stories and books. God bless.
  • WHAT JESUS GIVES TO US (TO FABIAN) - In Reply on Genesis 1 - 2 years ago
Moses wrote the first 5 books of the Bible.

Read slow. An event may be written in chapter 1, and more added in the next chapter.

Adams name means Man, in Hebrew.

Eve's name defines in Hebrew, man with a womb.

He was Formed from dust. She was Made from a rib.

Nothing is said about Adam being made with a womb inside of him.

It's easier to understand if we pay close attention to what God was doing (verbs). He created, He formed, He made, He took, He blew the breath of life, He spoke

I had to learn that in Genesis; not to speed read.

We need to follow bloodlines through a Genealogy charts.

As it is done now, people reuse the same names. Jesus's bloodline was through Adam & Eve's 3rd son, Seth.

Someday a human baby would be born and called Immanuel (GOD WITH US). By the time we get to Luke 1, here we see that Mary consents to the plan of the Godhead (LET US, in Genesis 1:26) She is overshadowed by the Holy Spirit. Joseph was not the body father. He and Mary had no relations; they waited until AFTER the birth of Jesus.

Jesus was fully God (Godhead; Romans 1:20), and fully human. He had DNA.

Why did it happen this way? EARTH WAS CREATED FOR MAN. Only humans can have dominion on earth. Satan had no dominion to be on earth. He had no body and took a serpents body to tempt Adam and Eve. Adam lost the dominion to satan.

On the Cross, Jesus won back that dominion and gave it back to humans. He gave His Believers (Christians) also, His Power and Authority to speak, heal, raise the dead, lead to salvation; BIND the activity of satan in human lives. If we aren't taught that, we live like orphans and get entangled in sin, frequently.

If our lives hurt, are confused, addicted to alcohol, drugs, porn, etc. Either we are not saved at all, or do not know what we have as believers in Jesus.

Ephesians 6, our satanic enemies are invisible. "Their fruit" exposes them: confusion, fear, torments, hatred, envy, they are illegal on earth!!

Read it again it's very simple and plain. God made Adam then took a rib from Adam and made woman a male and female. To be his helpmate, and told them to be fruitful and MULTIPLY.

Not being smart but it's so simple. Bless you

Genesis !: 27 , God creates man in his image

Genesis 2: 7 God formed man from dust and breath life into man.

In Genesis 1, man appears to be collective for both male and female.

In Genesis 2, man appears to be male and the female was then formed from the man.

Please enlighten me on these two sets of people?

    Thank you.

    Hi Wima.

There are a large variety of Bibles and some don't quite deliver the message, and there's some instances where we're splitting hairs. BUT

The spirit of truth is in the believer.

We often read "He that have an ear" and we see where some that are called blind where others can see.

And both groups is reading from the same book or listening to the same message. Some have different hermeneutics and come up with a different message than what is literally penned.

    God bless.

I said the comment the person made was "food for thought" and I'm fairly sure I didn't say I believed it. I'm thinking if a person has a solid base in God's word, then there's no harm in reading or listening to other works.

    1 TIMOTHY 4:3

    1 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;

    2 Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;

3 FORBIDDING TO MARRY, and commanding to ABSTAIN FROM MEAT which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth.

4 For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving:

5 For it is SANCTIFIED by the word of God and prayer.

The interesting fact is God gave us teeth for eating meat.

We don't have teeth like cows, sheep, etc. He just said not to eat the blood, as in cook the meat.

They didn't have refrigerators back in those days, so the whole animal was roasted.

    Hi Linda,

I noticed your comment about someone and maybe you believing God made mad on the 8th day. Do you believe that man or do you believe God? God already told us He created man on the 6th day in His Word in Genesis 1:24-31. Anyone who says something contradictory to God's Word is not telling the truth.

    God bless.

The word "Dominion" is in regards to stewardship, caretaking, honoring. The word has been misused by many

to imply that humans can do anything we want with abandon. I agree with you, we have created the mess of

the pristine world we were gifted. We have befouled the trust the animals placed in us as caretakers of them

by slitting their throats, spilling their blood, and eating them. And, we have disrespected the environment in

multiple ways via the pollution in the process of killing 70 billion animals a year, polluting the air, soil and water as well.

I made a conscious choice over twenty years ago to honor God and the animals by not eating them. I am an ethical vegan.

    Peace be with you.
  • Rachel Goodkind on Genesis 1 - 2 years ago
God gave us life and loves all of us as Gods' children. We are meant to eat the plant foods, not the flesh and blood of dead animals who suffered and were killed. They did not want to die.

"For meat destroy not the work of God". peace be with you.

What God created, He called it GOOD. Creation and man. Man LOST his dominion when he and Eve ate of the Tree. Satan stole the dominion. He wrecked humanity and earth, until Jesus was crucified for the sins of all mankind. Dominion was given back to ALL humanity. It's for managing our lives, the earth, the animals, and

administering justice when we break laws on the books. Traffic tickets can be disputed in traffic court. There is no need to run and be shot, etc. We can live by appearing in Civil Court with a low cost Legal Aid attorney, and state our case before a judge. God has ordained judges and courts to PROTECT the citizens. Yes there are scriptures for that in the Bible. "Obey those that have rule over you, and watch over your souls." When we just go along with the system, it can come out in our favor. Repent when we know in our hearts (SOUL) we are wrong. Then God will help us.

Our nation is operating on Facebook, YouTube and TikTok justice; which is mob rule. It causes CHAOS and people get inflamed and inflame others, and think mob rule is "legal"?

God gave TEN COMMANDMENTS, to help us have focus on what's right and what's wrong. Society is trying to kick out and tear down those commandments, but those rules were SET IN STONE.

If the majority of people think this way, and riot, burn down stuff, legislate it out__they will go through the Great Tribulation that will come down from Heaven. Many will be killed by the Antichrist because they will refuse to be injected with His Mark.

Things might get better if instead of mobs and riots, we re-register with the red party and let the House in DC know, "WE THE PEOPLE" say no more price inflation, and no more shutting down our own oil supply. FUND the baby food companies to start producing again! Quit spending money on Kerry's dream of a GREEN EARTH.

The Green Deal IS THE ONE WORLD RELIGION. Vote it out and don't support it.

Let's really start praying for God to be part of our nation!

Dear BILL WHITTINGHILL, in peace, yes it was a mistake, if u read further u will find that God Himself regret that He made human.

Genesis 6:6 And today we are the chosen one too set thing in order. Example 1 Peter 2:6 John 14:6 Make ppl see Jesus Christ only in Him thru The Holy Goust can we see God. Many see a different God today, but are driven away, becouse of the eval who is in them and the eval in the spiritual world, who every one not see. Ephesians 6:12-19 W e all need to come thru in Jesus.

I know nice ppl who have going too church for 40 years and they have the holy spirit in one way, but are bounded in television and work. I belive that God have a place for them. What i try to tell is: Not everybody sees the Spirit of the Holy. And remember we have all different work in the Lord. 1 Corintihans 12 And in that the eval can grow if they dont stop it by a gift they have. A friend may se it and pray to stop it.

    Galatians 6:2

Thats why Paul continue to tell us, dont give up! We must be standfast in the Word of God and dont complane. And Love Jesus and all ppl, and rases.

God bless us all in Jesus name, love u in Christ

Adam was made in God's image. After Adam fell man is no longer made in His image. If you are born again, you are born in Christ's image. if you are not born again, you are in Adam's image.
