I am shock that Abraham would turn his back on his family, his own son.

Hello Kofi Peprah If I can say it like this, after Sarai gave the handmaid to Abram and the handmaid discovered she had conceived, Sarai stated that she was despised in her handmaid eyes. Sarai also knew she was wrong for what she had done by giving her handmaid to her husband, Genesis 16 5. She did not take God at his word. Sometimes people do this today they do not believe God s word. Then after this God renewed his covenant with Abram and changed both his name and Sarai names to Abraham and Sarah and she bared him a son, Genesis 17 10 thru 21. Perhaps Sarah, still being filled with guilt of what she had done could not bare the mocking 's of a child and his mother. Simply put Sarah did not want Ismael heir with her son, Genesis 21 9 thru 13. So she had Abraham cast out Hagar and her son.

Ismeal was teasing sarah for given birth at her old age which was not sarah 's fault .normally children born at old age are not strong as children born at youthful age.probably hagar told ismeal that and he used it against sarah and her son isaac

13 And also of the son of the bondwoman will I make a nation, because he [is] thy seed......
16 And she went, and sat her down over against [him] a good way off, as it were a bowshot: for she said, Let me not see the death of the child. And she sat over against [him], and lift up her voice, and wept.
When God speaks it is established. There is no way Ishmael was going to die in the wilderness because God had said that he was going to become a great nation. No matter how desperate the situation is, it will not reverse what God has spoken concerning your life

Wonderful insight Engr. Yerima. Abraham was favored by God so much. I hope and pray I will found grace & favor in the sight of the Lord too. :) Abraham is not perfect & failed God in occasions but still God has been so faithful to him. I have experienced God's faithfulness in my life. Glory to God!

I realise that there is true and permissive will of God to every request of man. The will of the LORD God for Abraham was to wait for Isaac, but Abraham obeyed his wife for a short-cut(Ishmael).And every permissive will always results in problems(e.g. Israelists and the Arabs).Secondly, the covenant between Abimelech(Palestinians) and Abraham(Israelists)is what is making it impossible for the Israelists to take over Gaza completely. As for peace between these two it will take the grace of God.

And God heard the voice of the lad; and the angel of God called to Hagar out of heaven, and said unto her, - - once again GOD from HEAVEN utilized an ANGEL to communicate with man - Just like in the GARDEN
