THAT GREAT PROMISE THAT GOD MADE TO ABRAHAM ABOUT MULTIPLICATION WAS JUST A METAPHOR THAT GOD HIMSELF WD BE MULTIPLIED IN HUMANITY VIA THE SEED OF THE SOWER TH WORD OF GOD WHICH IS THE VERY SEED OF GOD THATS Y JESUS IS SAYING TO WHOM THE WORD/SEED CAME IT MADE THEM GODS, THE H.G. IS THAT PROMISE SEED AND CHRIST IS THE FATHER OF THE H.G SIMPLY B/C HE IS TH SON THAT SOWS THAT SEED N OUR HEARTS GBU.
  • Brayden Roussel on Genesis 22 - 6 years ago
Abraham knew that his son would not die, it clearly states "And Abraham said unto his young men, Abide ye here with the ass; and I and the lad will go yonder and worship, and come again to you." I and the lad, will go yonder and worship, and come again to you, That part there means that he trusted in the lord and knew his heavenly father wouldn't accept his offering.
  • Alex on Genesis 22 - 6 years ago
The nation of israel was the direct result of the Promise God made to Abraham via his seed etc,But the multiplication of Christ via his seed the word sown in humanity will result in the Israel of God But the seed of abraham were not the real children of PROMISE ITS CHRIST AND HIS SEED THAT ARE THE REAL CHILDREN OF PROMISE WHICH ARE SPIRITS TH H,G. MANY, THATS Y HE REFERS TO THE H,G AS THE PROMISE.
  • Alex on Genesis 22 - 6 years ago
the Godhead is simply Father Son n Granson, Abraham was just a type of GOD THE FATHER THAT WANTED A POSTERITY GRANSONS THAT WD BE AS THE SAND OF THE SEAS,NATURAL ISRAEL BUT THAT WAS JUST ALIGORICAL THAT GOD WD BE MULTIPLIED AS THE STARS OF HEAVEN IN HUMANITY.JESUS CD NOT REFER TO THE HG AS THE PROMISE IF HE WERE NOT THE GRANSON,THAT WAS THE ORIGINAL PROMISE THAT ABRAHAM WD HAVE GRAND CHILDREN.
  • Lonzo wiggington on Genesis 22 - 6 years ago
YOU HAVE TO GO ALL THE WAY WITH GOD OR NOTHING WORKS
  • Alex on Genesis 22 - 6 years ago
THE Ram caught in the thicket by his HORNS was symbolic of Christ and his Crown of thorns Jesus was caught in the thicket of th sins of the world thus he was truly the LAMB OF GOD THAT WD TAKE AWAY THE SINS OF THE WORLD. WHEN THE JEWS SAW THE CROWN OF THORNS ON HIS HEAD THEY REMEMBERED THE RAM CAUGHT IN THE THICKET BY HIS HORNS.THE LORD WILL PROVIDE A LAMB ABRAHAM TOLD ISSAC Behold the LAMB of God
  • Susan Hanson on Genesis 22 - 6 years ago
When there are questions concerning evil, disasters, disease, misfortune perhaps we should remember Abraham and trust.
  • BSP on Genesis 22 - 6 years ago
Verse 3~Abraham had an extraordinary amount of faith in God. He was willing to sacrifice much. Jehovah God blessed him and used him as an example in what he would do centuries later in offering up the life of his son Jesus Christ.
  • Servant of God on Genesis 22 - 6 years ago
God requires everything with nothing held back in the form of human attachment. So Abraham offered up Issac who didn't quibble but trusted Abraham even as he held the knife to slay him that God will provide himself a sacrifice. Abraham demonstrated in real time his faith, and why not? God had appeared to him and prepared him to be a father of many nations. Those are the Jews first, Christians,
  • Alex on Genesis 22 - 6 years ago
Abraham was symbolic of Father GOD THAT wanted a Posterity but was asked to offer up his only son Isaac a type of the lamb of GOD CAUGHT IN THE THICKET BY HIS HORNS ( HIS CROWN OF THORNS ) POINTS TO HIM BEING THAT RAM CAUGHT IN THE THICKET BY HIS HORNS, OUT OF ISAAC came Esau n Jacob the 2 Israels 1 born of the flesh and 1 born of the spirit, the 2 nd is always that which is born of the Spirit.
  • Alex on Genesis 22 - 7 years ago
The ram CAUGHT IN THE thicket by his horns answers to Christ J WHEN THEY PUT THAT CROWN OF THORNS ON HIS HEAD it was symbolic of the Ram caught in the thicket by his horns, Jesus was put in the thicket of the sins of the world, thus he was the lamb of God that had to die for the sins of the world, Abraham saw the place afar off like 2000 yrs away at Calvary,Behold the lamb of GOD THAT DIED FOR US.
  • Weser on Genesis 22 - 7 years ago
Jesus is the Passover Lamb to atone our sins of the whole world!
  • Oliver on Genesis 22 - 7 years ago
This chapter of the Bible marks a great meaning in human and God relationship and human salvation
    1. the human nature is always to " take" and rarely give as portrayed in infants who alway put in their mouth whatever they grab
I perceived God must have had goose pimples allover when Abraham willing gave his beloved son Isaac
2.Isaac signifies Jesus whom GOD gave as a ransom for our sin
  • Anne on Genesis 22 - 7 years ago
It is notable that Abraham did not tell anyone else about what God had asked him to do. He knew it was God and did not need anyone else's opinion. When God speaks to us we should not hesitate and debate with anyone else, but trust Him completely.
  • Cynthia on Genesis 22 - 7 years ago
Can you stand the test verse 1
  • Seven Trumpets on Genesis 22 - 7 years ago
Genesis 22:20 "And it came to pass after these things, that it was told Abraham, saying, Behold, Milcah, she hath also born children unto thy brother Nahor;" An ineresting part "after these things..." because it shows us something, that many of us feel often, as Christians in the world. How many times have we had great experience in God, and after to meet some who seemed only sent to "one up" us?
  • Peter A. Okebukola on Genesis 22 - 7 years ago
This chapter has important lessons for Christians. It presents a double test of faith and adherence to the command of God. Abraham demonstrated unshakable faith, a trait true Christians should hold dear. He also heeded the command of God not minding the sore consequence. As Christians,"Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it." ( John 2:5). God Himself used this episode to herald the sacrifice of Jesus
  • Irene123 on Genesis 22 - 7 years ago
"..... and I and the lad will go ....... and come again to you." This was just br'ot out in this a.m. Bible study. Abraham had FAITH in God, but did he realize what he said here? Or did God put those words in his mouth, un-knowing to Abraham? Abraham actually raised the knife. I just feel that Abraham didn't realize what he had said; and 'feelings' are not a good interpreter of His word.
  • Freda on Genesis 22 - 7 years ago
The Lord will test our Faith and obedience to him. God gave his only son who died for our sins. We will be tested time after time yet we must remain Faithful!
  • Salem on Genesis 22 - 8 years ago
Comment* If Atall Abraham Had Restrained Giving Up Isaac Having Been Afriend Of God And Asource Of The Earth's Blessings, God Could By no Means Give Jesus As Aramson.Forget Not That The Word Ramson, has Two Powerful Words; Ram and Son.So Jesus Was The Ram That Represented The Only Beloved Son Isaac Of The Everlasting Convenant.
  • Lu2677 on Genesis 22 - 8 years ago
Genesis 35:29 Isaac died, lived to an old age.
  • Rebecca on Genesis 22 - 8 years ago
The more I read the my Father show me his word the more to me to no his, and whom He truth in people that will obey He and truth Him that come to their faith in our Father.
  • Lu2677 on Genesis 22 - 8 years ago
Alwyn, Isaac returned home with Abraham and lived a long life. As he is written about in scripture. The "young men" were merely helpers or hired men working for Abraham.
  • ALWYN on Genesis 22 - 8 years ago
Question What happened to Isaac just after Abraham offer the ram? Verse 19 , So Abraham returned unto his young men,.... KJV. What is meaning of this ?
  • Jim on Genesis 22 - 8 years ago
I believe this chapter was a prophesy to be fulfilled under Jesus' dying in our place on the cross. God showed that just as Abraham was willing to obey to God to give up his son, God would give up his only son whom he loved, as a sacrifice for all mankind.
  • Irene123 on Genesis 22 - 8 years ago
TO LILIANNE ON GEN. CH 22 - HERE'S SOMETHING ELSE BEAUTIFUL ABOUT THE ABRAHAM/ISAAC STORY: AS ABRAHAM/ISAAC WERE GOING UP THEIR SIDE OF THE MOUNTAIN - GOD WAS PACING RIGHT ALONG WITH THEM UP THE OTHER SIDE - TO MEET THEM!!! I HEARD THIS PREACHED ON IN CH. AND IT WAS SO MUCH MORE HEART TOUCHING THAN I COULD SAY IT. IT BR'OT TEARS TO MY EYES.
  • Irene123 on Genesis 22 - 8 years ago
You know what, Lilianne? as Abraham and Isaac were walking up that mountain - God was walking up the other side to "provide the lamb." He was right there with them.
  • Liliane on Genesis 22 - 8 years ago
Verse 8: how much faith Abraham has upon God? He knew that God will provide the sacrifice! This verse teach us that if we trust God even in the last moments he can do something! God need us to have the faith like Abraham!
  • Sonja on Genesis 22 - 9 years ago
Abraham was always obedient it seemed no matter how hard he was faithful and trusted the Lord.
  • Lynn on Genesis 22 - 9 years ago
Yes, God already knew Abraham would obey. Still he would test his faith. In the Old Testament faith was often tested with visuals. In the New Testament we look back on these test to increase our faith. Isaac was the son of promise through Sarah, not Ishmael. Today if someone says God speaks directly to them outside of his written word it is a lie. No new revelation can be added. God's word is complete.
