where was God when Satan entered the garden and deceived the woman.? Since we believe that God is all-knowing and omnipresent. I don't just get it, He should have used His power to stop and prevent Satan from entering the garden in the first place.
I think there is a correlation between the life of Adam and Eve before they eat the forbidden fruit and the life of a young baby, pure clean, innocent, ''blind'' naked, and never ashamed.
Hi Jerry. In answer to your first question, I believe that "to keep the way of the tree of life" is to keep the way "closed". The Hebrew word for this means: "to keep, to watch or preserve". So, the placing of the cherubims with flaming sword was to secure or guard the way(s) to that tree (of life) so that no one could ever take of that fruit & live forever in a state of irretrievable corruption. The fact that Adam & Eve disobeyed God by eating of the Tree of Knowledge of Good & Evil, made their spirits corrupt through sin, but at least there was hope for them in lives & death. If the Tree of Life was then eaten, their state of corruption in sin would have been final & irredeemable.
While Adam & Eve were pure & innocent, I believe that they could have eaten the fruit of any of the trees ( Genesis 2:16,17), except the Tree of Knowledge of Good & Evil. But once they sinned by disobedience to God, the eternal life that they had would have been taken away and left them in a state of eternal death & separation from their Maker.
In verse 24 the bible says "So he drove out the man; and he placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubims, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life."
To keep the way of the tree of life, does that mean to keep the way open or to keep the way closed? Two trees were in the midst of the garden and only one of them was forbidden. Does that mean they could have eaten from the tree of life at any time?
Yes ! We , humans , are the serpent , our hearts and minds which are full of all kinds of wickedness ! The battle is within us , not without , we must fight against our own inclinations , when we have the Spirit of Truth within us , then we are no longer ignorant and we have eyes to see and ears to hear and then , we walk in the light and our life is in Christ . We live in him , not in sin , we are alive in a world full of dead people !
"The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom." that is rooted and grows out of obedience. The first Adam was not obedient to God, but the last Adam was Phil. 2:8 and Rom. 5:19
When the first Adam disobeyed, sin entered with desire and imagination, and with that, man can create in his mind anything, and the imagination of man is evil as we see Gen 6:5Gen 8:21Jer. 11:8 we must Rom. 6:162 Cor. 10:3-5.
The word of God is so powerful, there is wisdom which comes through obedience and our relationship with God. Relate to Adam and Eve, man always wants to overtake God's power in creation and as a result is what we are experiencing today. We have created so much evil and the light is shying away from us.
Let us remind ourselves:
Proverbs 9:10, "The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding."
Yes. Earth is flat and not moving, NASA are liars and work for Satan. The Firmament is above us and above it is water. There is no space at all, we are not circling the sun but the sun is circling us ( Joshua 10:12). There are many many scriptures that show what the Earth really is. Even the Hebrew word for sky, "Shamayim", mean "Water is there".
I read recently that scientist have found large amounts of water are located across the universe. But outer space is not all water. There is "air" space between planets, solar systems, etc. These spaces do not contain air like in our immediate atmosphere, but they contain photons of light waves.
There is movement due to gravity and also collisions such as asteroids bumping together, there is magnetism and gravity, solar winds. there is "space dust and "star nurseries". I also read that the universe is stretching out (expanding in dimensional space) so this means that objects and collections of objects are moving farther apart.
There are exploding stars (novas and super novas) black holes that transmit an immense amount of energy, quasars, comets, and so much more in space.
And there are billions of stars, planets, and galaxies.
God has a purpose for all of these things. In eternity we will know so much more and be awestruck even more than we are at this time.
I tend to agree that ultimately, death due to sin is really an expression of God's mercy, for the reasons you stated. On our side of this, we view death as a curse and a deep sorrow from loss of a loved one. Also, the act of dying can be very painful for some,, with much suffering. Others are blessed to go to sleep and die while sleeping. Don't we all wish for this to be what God chooses for us in our death!
But, God, in His wisdom, omniscience, and mercy chose death to be a part of His plan for man's salvation. He created man in order to save Him, as that was the plan from before creation. God had in creation a plan of redemptive history in time and space for mankind. He did not have this plan for Satan and his rebellious angels. They are forever damned and enslaved to sin. These angels were created to be the recipients of His wrath and condemnation for their own sin, without being given any repentance and grace. But for man, God had planned all along to create man in order to show the riches of His mercy and grace. Death, though it end one's life in this world, is truly a release from our own sinful nature and the means that God uses to bring believers into an eternal state of being with God. In order for there to be a resurrection, there needs to be a death, as God has determined.
God told them NOT to eat of the Two Trees - In Reply on Genesis 3 - 2 years ago
According to God's curses, Adam's and Eve's knowledge of good and evil would lead to great frustration, pain, and heartache. They would experience happiness and receive good gifts from God along the way, to be sure, but their days would be punctuated by conflict. In addition, their disobedience, knowing evil, meant that they and their offspring would be capable of continuing to commit great evil.
Although part of the curse, God's oracle that Adam would eventually die was also an act of mercy. Adam's hard life and ability to rebel against God and do harm to others would be limited-unless he ate from the Tree of Life. That would lead to an unending, hopeless existence separated from God.
Apparently, the fruit of the Tree of Life would provide physical immortality to Adam and Eve. For their own good and the good of all, God would not allow this. To be spiritually dead while remaining physically alive forever could only bring endless suffering. It's interesting to note that, depending on how one translated the original Hebrew, God doesn't appear to even finish His sentence before removing Adam and Eve from the garden in the next verse.
Genesis 3:22 And the LORD God said, "Behold, the man Adam is become as one of Us, to know general good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever:-"
One of US,,, probably misread that, typo maybe, no biggie, it happens,,, Adam is become one of us.
I appreciate when others explain languages in Hebrew of Greek. Everything we do as Teachers gets closer scrutiny by the Lord. Not everyone is a scholar. I have 36 years of street ministry on my feet.
I think teachers and students should appreciate, not alienate. Try always to edify. If someone else is good with languages, I let them answer it later. Adios amigos .)
I thank God for this website. I also watch former Churches on YouTube, or ministers that I met in person and really like how they open the word. I stay on top of news events. I do not watch television networks at all. I visit with my elderly neighbors a few times a week. Today a disabled man who works at a dollar store, said how he needed coffee because his aunt & uncle are heavy coffee drinkers.
I'm going back tomorrow to give him my box of coffee. It hurts me to see others struggle alone. I really enjoy hours spent right here talking about the Bible. I don't come in here to make people feel worse if they're feeling dragged down or spread thin. Let us edify each other., ok. Thanks.
I believe it was a literal fruit and likely a fruit type that was native to that area. Apples, bananas, watermelon, etc. aren't native and are unlikely. Figs, dates, grapes, olives, pomegranates, for example, are native in my understanding, and seem more likely to have been the fruit tree. Of course the Garden of Eden was special and may have contained every fruit imaginable, but I just don't think it seems as likely Eve bit into a Washington-state grown Red Delicious Apple.
Did you know Thomas was also a twin? not clear to many that he was. It doesn't always lay down so clear. Have to take back to original languages sometimes. All depends on the writer and the message. Not all are given eyes to see. I plant a seed and only GOD can make it grow. It is plainly outlined what happened and it would take 2 pages. CHRIST said learn the parable of the fig tree, didn't ask HIS followers too, HE said learn it. You have good figs and bad who claim to be of Judah but are not but are the seed of Satan. physical fact and it started in the garden of Eve. If people don't understand the beginning how will they ever understand the end?
God was right there when Adam and Eve ate the FRUIT.
What was that single TREE?
The tree of KNOWLEDGE of good and evil.
So when they ate the FUITH that were GIVEN KNOWLEDGE of GOOD and EVIL.
God himself placed Satan there in the garden to CAUSE Adam and Eve to partake of the FRUIT.
Why was this so important for them to consume the fruit of the tree of KNOWLEDGE of good and evil.
God word tells why it was so important.
Genesis 3:22 ....behold they have BECOME LIKE ONE US, to KNOW good and evil....
Genesis 1:27 ... so created he them in his OWN IMAGE .....
You CAN NOT be the IMAGE of GOD without having the KNOWLEDGE of God, good and evil.
Man's teaching distort the teachings of God's word, man was never made perfect in the beginning.
Romans 8:29 For man was MADE subject to vanity.
Man only became perfect, when He and Christ were RAISED as ONE FLESH, at Christ's resurrection.
God BLESS YOU!

The serpent has always had legs, the serpent is not a snake.
The serpent is the carnal mind of the beast, MAN.
Revelation 13:18 Here is wisdom ....for it is the number of a MAN
Job 1:17 .....the Lord said to Satan, Whence cometh thou .....from walking (on legs) up and down on the earth
Genesis 3:1 Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field God made ...
Psalms 73:22 I was so foolish, and ignorant, I was as a beast before thee.
Romans 8:20 For the creature (man) was made subject to vanity (a carnal mind), NOT WILLINGLY, but by reason of him (God) ......
Genesis 3:15 And I will put enmity between thee and the woman .....enmity between the carnal mind and the bride of Christ ....
Romans 8:7 For the carnal mind is enmity against God .....
God Bless YOU as you study and Christ reveals himself to you.
Leviticus 11, Deuteronomy 14,
Hopefully these are helpful in your study

Let us remind ourselves:
Proverbs 9:10, "The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding."
Which was called heaven . This is not the same " Heaven " of chapter 1:1 . For verse 2 is only speaking of the "earth "
Initially there was a ' sea' above the firmament and below it but those waters broke come the flood .
There is but clouds above the firmament now . For before the flood " it did not rain upon the earth "
Thus this firmament he called " heaven" you have 1 heaven where the birds fly .
You have another ' heaven' where the stars are .For after verse 2 " He made the stars also".
Which is heaven number 2 .
Then you have the first heaven of Genesis 1:1 . " In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth .
It was not heaven that was in darkness but the earth .
For that heaven needs no sun or moon for zGod is the light there of.
Thus we have 3 heavens.
Not to be confused with Genesis 2 those heavens are the two of " earth "
The third heaven of gen 1"1 is the one Paul speaks of as someone going to "the third heaven" of. Which it was "not lawful to speak of ,"

Solid archaeological evidence was found by men named Rast and Schaub in 1973.
Those cities showed the evidence of the destruction mentioned in the Bible was accurate however there is no mention that it is still burning.
God bless.
