Hi Albert, I believe #2 is correct, that God made other people, but it just wasn't specified. Check out Gen 5:2- it said in the beginning he made male and female. I take that to mean he created other people besides Adam and Eve, but just focused on them originally. This is also likely how Cain and Seth found wives- otherwise, their own mom, Eve, was the only other woman to possibly reproduce with.
This is the problem with taking the Bible as the literal truth and history. It makes no sense. How do you explain the fact that Cain had a wife in the Land of Nod? Here are some choices. 1) Cain's wife was not human. 2) God created other women but the Bible forgot to mention that. 3) There were other women that God did not create.

These debates are good, but I would not want to be a stumbling block to anyone. The main focus of the Bible is Jesus Christ and what He did for us on the cross. We as lost sinners need a redeemer.
In regard to the Genesis account, I accept what is stated in the Bible. We should not indulge in speculation. Since the Mosaid laws were handed down, it would be unthinkable for a brother and sister to have a sexual union. If there were other people already on the earth, then I don't understand why God would have had to create Eve especcially for Adam ( Gen. 2:20). I don't understand why it was permitted for Adam's sons to marry into those other people if it wasn't okay for Adam. But, be that as it may, we do see later on that Abraham married a half sister, Sarai ( Genesis 20:12). This was not an isolated incident of close kin marrying.

But be that as it may, we can see for a certainty that Noah's grandchildren must have married their cousins. For according to Genesis 7:13 Noah and his wife, the three sons and their wives entered the ark. When they left the ark, there were no other humans on the earth. All flesh not on that ark had died. So it is no stretch of the imagination for me to believe that Noah's grandchildren married close kin. This practice continued during the time of Abraham ( Gen. 20: 12) married to his half sister; Isaac married to a cousin in Gen. 24, 25; Jacob married to cousins Leah and Rachel. Agree, there is no evidence that Cain married his sister. To me, there's more evidence that more people were created that just Adam and Eve. This verse suggests male and female were created on the same day (Link then later Eve was created.
Cain did not marry his sister, to marry in the old
testament was to have sex. Look up Gen. 6:4 then
research who "The Sons of God" were in the time of
the old testament, and then you will know who Cain

In regard to the question over Cain marrying a sister most likely, that is all that would have been available. I made another comment minutes ago about the practice of marrying closes relations continuing up to the time of the Mosaic laws. The incestuous relationship where I see God definitely did NOT bless was the one in which Lot's two ungodly daughters got him drunk and then seduced him to preserve their family line ( Gen. 19.) The offspring of that resulted in two of the most ungodly cultures, the Moabites and the Ammonites.

In Genesis 3:20 it says that Eve was the mother of all living. I have heard of the theory of a "first creation " in the first chapter of Genesis and respectfully submit that since the Bible is silent on that subject that we should not speculate. Later on, before the Mosaic laws are given out, we read of other Bible couples that would seem to be incestuous, Abram married to his half sister Sarai ( Genesis 20:12,) their son Isaac married to a cousin, Rebekah ( Genesis 24, 25,) their son Jacob (Israel) married to cousins Leah and Rachel. We have to remember that Adam and Eve were perfectly created beings so the gene pool was perfect; as sin entered the world over time man's genes became less perfect. By the time Moses' law came around, God made it clear to His people that he wanted the practice of in-family sexual relationships to cease. God is good!
