  • WHO is the DOOR on Noah39s Ark - In Reply on Genesis 7 - 3 years ago
    Genesis 7

    13 In the selfsame day entered Noah, and Shem, and Ham, and Japheth, the sons of Noah, and Noah's wife, and the three wives of his sons with them, into the ark;

14 They, and every beast after his kind, and all the cattle after their kind, and every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind, and every fowl after his kind, every bird of every sort.

15 And they went in unto Noah into the ark, two and two of all flesh, wherein is the breath of life.

16 And they that went in, went in male and female of all flesh, as God had commanded him: and the LORD SHUT HIM IN.

Comment: the door was so massive. God was the only one who could shut it from the outside.

    Note: Jesus is the Door.
  • Garry Mackey on Genesis 7 - 3 years ago
Where exactly does it say in Genesis that God shut the door on the ark?

And love the story of Noah

I believe that since Christ's death & resurrection, everyone who hears the Gospel of Salvation, has a choice to make. And this choice is incumbent on the Holy Spirit's Work in the unbeliever's heart to prepare him & draw him to the Cross.

2 Corinthians 6:2, "For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation." The choice for all people is NOW & not at a later date when it could be too late or even after death, when there is no further opportunity to do so.

Where in the Bible does it speak of Everyone will have a choice to except Jesus or reject Jesus?
  • Mishael - In Reply on Genesis 7:24 - 4 years ago
Noah's story ended with a flood and a new beginning.

Our story will end with fire, but all those that decide to go with Jesus will survive it and live forever in the new World that is being built.

    2 Peter 3:10

But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.
  • Katherine Finley on Genesis 7:24 - 4 years ago
Where can I find the book in the Bible that God said no more water but fire next time

Is it possible to know our sin? Is it possible for us to wash that sin away?God is perfect in all his ways ,far beyond what we think. Who are you to tell the potter why you have made me this way!who are you too say to him what He should do or not do with his creation! He will have mercy and not sacrifice oh man!
  • Stanjett on Genesis 7 - 4 years ago
I don't understand why God wiped all living out except those in the ark. I'm sure there must have been little babies that had not sinned. And what about all the rest of the animals? They didn't sin. He's God so he knows who sinned and who didn't. So why didn't He kill only the sinners? What about the animals? The so called clean and the unclean all had to die except for a few? Why didn't He just kill all the unclean? He took some unclean into the ark. Why?

Its your passport to Heaven. (If you believe)
  • WHY READ THE BIBLE - In Reply on Genesis 7 - 4 years ago
If you bought a 60 inch screen tv, you'd read the owners manual wouldn't you?

You'd want to know what that tv can do?

Same thing. The Bible is the Owners Manual (Jesus). These following scriptures are enough to show that you need to come to know what you have.

Desire the pure milk of the Word. Strong meat belongs to them that are exercised in their faith.

    Matthew 11:29

Take my yoke upon you, and LEARN of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.

    John 12:26

If any man serve me, let him FOLLOW me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be: if any man serve me, him will my Father honour.

    Mark 12:24

And Jesus answering said unto them, Do ye not therefore err, because YE KNOW NOT the scriptures, neither the power of God?

    Luke 24:45

Then opened he their understanding, that they MIGHT UNDERSTAND the scriptures,

    Matthew 22:29

Jesus answered and said unto them, Ye do err, NOT UNDERSTANDING the scriptures, nor the power of God.

    Luke 4:21

And he began to say unto them, This day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears.

    John 20:9

For as yet THEY KNEW NOT the scripture, that he must rise again from the dead.

Comment: strong meat makes your hair stand on end, your eyes wide and mouth drop, saying: WOW!!

    Hi Jayden,

The Bible is like the instruction manual for life. It's also the most published and read book in world history. It explains Christianity, history, God, and the purpose of life. It is God-inspired and an amazing book how you can read it multiple times and get new information. But it will only be understood by someone with an open mind and open heart who wishes to seek to get to know God.

If you want to start reading, you might consider reading the book of John.

    God bless...

Why is it important to learn about the bible
  • Shelley - In Reply on Genesis 7 - 4 years ago
Great comments, Bob! Not many believers understand it the way you do. "Flesh and blood did not reveal that to you." I do believe though, that Noah preached "it's gonna rain," for closer to 115 years and built the boat during the last five. God bless!!

For Gloria and those interested, Every man and "Womb"man or woman have their own spirit or Ghost. Jesus is different, He has the same spirit or ghost as His father, so even though they are two people and have life in themselves, they are the totally connected by the one spirit. How many times have you heard "That boy is just like his father", well Jesus is so much like His father that He is His father only in a visible form. All things were created through "the Son" and He visited, walked and talked on the earth long before He was known as Jesus. This is important for JW's etc to understand as it will transform the way they read scripture in the King James and answer many questions for those who do not understand the deity of God and free them from the watchtower society views and its alteration of scripture due to not understanding the simplicity of Gods dominion. Father who cannot be seen (way too big), Son who can be seen..creator..visitor...saviour....same spirit.. same in every way..

Regarding Noah and those critters who went in two and two, if you read carefully, you will find there were 4 of every kind, two females and two males, except for the ones who were 7 boys and 7 girls. The ark was the size of a modern aircraft carrier from world war 2. It could easily carry all those animals and have a whole deck just for people. Amazing stuff for his day. Imagine looking at that ark all finished after around 110 years work...Phew..all done ..nearly.

Nice analogy, I haven't heard that before.
  • Gloria - In Reply on Genesis 7 - 4 years ago
The Trinity is like an egg; You have the shell, the whites and then the yolk. This represents God the Father (the shell), God the Son (Jesus--the egg white) and God the Holy Ghost (the Holy Spirit--the yolk). Just like the egg as a whole, they are together, and yet separately they are indviduals (the shell, the white, the yolk). They are one and yet they are separate, as needed.

Think about the life that Noah was commanded to take into the ark. He was to take his family and their spouses and then male and female of the beasts of the earth and fowl of the air; all manner of things that crept upon the face of the earth. What He DIDN'T mention is the marine life. Why? Because they wouldn't need rescuing. They would have unprecedented waters to live and hunt in. The predators of the ocean would have all manner of flesh to eat on; humans, all the other animals that weren't taken into the ark, the birds of the air that fell into the waters of exhaustion because there was nowhere for them to land once the earth was covered. That's mind-boggling to think about, isn't it?

Indeed, Jesus Christ is called both Lord and God.
  • Job - In Reply on Genesis 7 - 4 years ago
God is the Father. The Lord is the Son, Jesus. But if you got one you have the other also. For Jesus said I and the Father are one. I in him and He in me.

Deborah was strong-arm the Lord(Yahweh) and trusted him and Jael also followed G-d's leading to destroy Sisera..destroying evil in her dwelling. Maybe this is a lesson that all evil should be removed from our dwelling places...guess TV would go first! Thanks for the reminder that G-d can use a woman who follows him as well.

Those that are called to be saved, through baptism, must remain in the faith and have the testimony of Jesus, which was a witness to all he said and taught and miracles he performed while being in on this earth. They are being called in different ways, and what a blessing it is for them. They want and seek for the truth. Once it is found they live according to how Jesus lived. God does not leave his children, He blesses them in knowledge, virtue, wisdom and opens the minds to understand his laws and covenant given to us. His children are in the world but do not live according to it. The world is enmity to God, the lusts of the flesh, pride, vanity, lies, these things are not of God. Amen.
  • Maria on Genesis 7 - 4 years ago
The Bible is a book inspired by God. In the new testament, we learn through the scriptures how we are to be saved. We learn that we are to accept Jesus as the son of God, through his baptism by John the Baptist. For right after his baptism ( Matthew 3:17) A voice came from heaven saying "this is My beloved Son. In whom I am well pleased." Amen. Now, in ( John 3:3) We learn that in order for us to enter into the kingdom of God we are to be born again, just as Nicodemus was told by Jesus. We are to be born of water and the spirit, which directs us to be baptized. We will become new creatures, all things are new again, and through our faith in receiving the holy spirit we are to be saved. Amen.
  • Maria on Genesis 7 - 4 years ago
In the old testament there were prophets, men enlightened by God to lead the people to his creator. Prophets foretold the birth of Jesus two thousand years before it happened. Jesus came and taught about salvation first to the Jews, then to the gentiles. The payment for sin is death, this was clearly said in the garden of Eden. The Jews performed sacrifices on animals without blemish. This was revealing the death of Jesus who died for us sinners, He was pure, holy, while living in human nature, but with the holy spirit within him. He came from heaven, died, resurrected and went back to heaven because he was a divine being, sent by God. Death did not retain him for he is everlasting, Amen.
