    Noah lived approximately 50 years after the Flood.

    Noah was 600 years old when the Flood started. ( Genesis 7:6)
    "And the rain was upon the earth 40 days and 40 nights." ( Genesis 7:12)
    Flooding lasted over 300 days ( Genesis 8:13 and using prior verses to establish timeline.)
    Noah lived to be 950 years old. ( Genesis 9:29)
    (600 years + 300 years = 900 years. 900 years + N years = 950 years. N = 50 years.

    how Long Noah Live, after the Flood?
  • _Rosalina_Sayson_Ko_Tapay_ on Genesis 7 - 11 years ago
    The wisdom in the book of Genesis Chapter 7 are these: God regarded Noah as RIGHTEOUS in HIS sight in that generation ( Genesis 7:1), that God did not spare to save all living things and substances upon the face of the earth for the destruction of the wicked people saving the RIGHTEOUS man Noah only who remained alive, and they that were with him in the ark ( Genesis 7:2-24). THEREFORE: God spare His mercy, salvation, and deliverance, to those RIGHTEOUS men who worship HIM.
  • Ken on Genesis 7 - 11 years ago
    In reference to one of the above comments which stated, "The Lord will not show mercy to those who don't earn that mercy". I pray tell me, which one of Adam's children can claim the merit of having earned God's mercy? If we had to earn it, then it would not be mercy, God would merely be paying a debt He owes ( Romans 4:4). Besides, who can give anything to God so as to earn anything He gives? Absolutely none. (See Romans 11:35-36). Mercy is a manifestation of God's grace to the undeserving.....like me. I thank God it is based on His goodness and not my labor, thus I have hope.
  • Thomsa on Genesis 7 - 11 years ago
    Mrs. Noah....
  • Timothy Wayne George on Genesis 7 - 11 years ago
    Mrs. Noah was the name of Noah's wife. The most important part is that she followed her husband, and was one of the eight souls saved from the Flood.
  • Laura on Genesis 7:13 - 11 years ago
    what was Noahs wifes' name?
  • Gmoney$$ on Genesis 7 - 11 years ago
    To K S REDDY. To answer your question, He really is. He showed that by sparing Noah. People then (and now) were evil, corrupted, selfish and had no faith in the Lord. That said, the Lord will not show mercy to those who don't earn that mercy. Fact is, the only reason the Lord hasn't flooded the Earth a second time is because He promised Noah and all mankind He would not.

    And as such, show His mercy and grace.

    Amen!
  • K S REDDY on Genesis 7 - 11 years ago
    7:31 And every living substance was destroyed which was upon the face of the ground, both man, and cattle, and the creeping things, and the fowl of the heaven; and they were destroyed from the earth: and Noah only remained alive, and they that were with him in the ark*** Then how is it GOD benevolent and Mercifull.

    Leviticus 11 should answer your questions of clean and unclean beasts acoording to the Law of Moses.
    Leviticus 11:1-8

    1 And the Lord spake unto Moses and to Aaron, saying unto them,

    2 Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, These are the beasts which ye shall eat among all the beasts that are on the earth.

    3 Whatsoever parteth the hoof, and is cloven footed, and cheweth the cud, among the beasts, that shall ye eat.

    4 Nevertheless these shall ye not eat of them that chew the cud, or of them that divide the hoof: as the camel, because he cheweth the cud, but divideth not the hoof; he is unclean unto you.

    5 And the coney, because he cheweth the cud, but divideth not the hoof; he is unclean unto you.

    6 And the hare, because he cheweth the cud, but divideth not the hoof; he is unclean unto you.

    7 And the swine, though he divide the hoof, and be cloven footed, yet he cheweth not the cud; he is unclean to you.

    8 Of their flesh shall ye not eat, and their carcase shall ye not touch; they are unclean to you.
  • FPapiSalOC on Genesis 7 - 11 years ago
    How did they keep all the animals fed like the meat eating carnivores?
  • Sipho on Genesis 7 - 11 years ago
    "2 Of every clean beast thou shalt take to thee by sevens, the male and his female: and of beasts that are not clean by two, the male and his female."

    So i'm wondering which clean beasts these were that had to go into the arc in sevens whilst unclean ones went in by twos. Any thoughts? Ideas?
  • J.R. on Genesis 7 - 11 years ago
    @WIll,
    Man is inherently evil and his thoughts are only continuously evil. Babies are only saved by Grace, and children are not as pure and perfect as you think. From the ages before two, they know instinctively what is right and wrong. I have seen it in my own child, and others children.
  • J.R. on Genesis 7 - 11 years ago
    @Bruce,
    Are you sure about the fact that the Tigris and Euphrates are both in the Middle East. I have had the blessing (and been lucky to live) to have seen them both.
  • Anandpaul on Genesis 7:20 - 11 years ago
    I am really privileged to study this chapter.
  • Bruce on Genesis 7:20 - 11 years ago
    The flood was global, but did not rise up over the mountains, such as Everest. The Garden of Eden, Adam down to Noah did not take place in the Middle East, but that is where the Ark rested. Noah and his sons named the new places after the old.
  • Steve on Genesis 7 - 12 years ago
    God always gives people choice to choose life or death, like the days of Noah He gave them opportunity to enter the arch and be saved from the flood. We have also been given opportunity to choose Jesus Christ the Son of God.
  • Armyork gwinji on Genesis 7 - 12 years ago
    Instead of fellow men entering the ark that Noah had built, animals crept in two by two. The animal kingdom obeyed God's voice whilst men chose otherwise. Sin can blind you, enshroud your thinking until you cannot hear even a simple instruction from God. Yet nature lives in perfect harmony with God's word. It’s just a matter of choice. That ark was meant for men but Noah's toil for 120 years was all in vain. Besides his family, only animals responded. Luke19:40, And He (Jesus) answered and said unto them, I tell you that, if these (disciples) should hold their peace, the stones would immediately cry out.
  • Frank on Genesis 7 - 12 years ago
    Let’s all remember that God commanded that male and female of all flesh went into the Ark. Even the man from the 6th day creation went in. That is what I believe.
  • Abay on Genesis 7:7 - 12 years ago
    God saves and leaves the people the privilege to believe their own allusiveness, instead of the reveled word of God.
  • Daud toni on Genesis 7 - 12 years ago
    This was the reason why there was no longer giants animal lives among us today, since they all wiped out from the earth when there were flood for over more than 5 months on earth. Noah did not bring them to the ark, because the ark wouldn't fit for gigantic animals.
  • André on Genesis 7 - 12 years ago
    @Peter,
    Sure a 600 year man did that. Using all materials from his vicinity, there were no scarcity of material as we now have, rain forests were still untouched, so it was just a matter of cutting and assembling.
    600 years old is very very old age compared to our days, but not to theirs. Just like Moses, the Bible says ‘’ And Moses was an hundred and twenty years old when he died: his eye was not dim, nor his natural force abated.’’
    Those people truly walked with God who was their strength.
    God bless you.
  • Peter on Genesis 7 - 12 years ago
    I must say that I am impressed that a 600 year old guy could build a gigantic ship. Did they have Home Depot in those days?
  • Lori on Genesis 7 - 12 years ago
    Seven of the clean were taken; two of everything else.
  • Lori on Genesis 7 - 12 years ago
    Adamite civilization was much larger than today’s due to nature, not satanic interbreeding, we are sometimes told of finding skeletons in excess of 17 feet tall, comparing that cubit by today’s standards would be nearly incalculable.
  • Jenny on Genesis 7 - 12 years ago
    @Doubting Thomas,
    Definitely the Bible does NOT contradict itself because these are GOD’s words and in every way he´s perfect (No Mistakes). It’s just the way we as people read his word, just ask God to help you get a more clear understanding of the word.
  • André on Genesis 7 - 12 years ago
    @Peter,
    Of course there was not such a story like Santa Claus's sled. Not only the possibility of containing pairs of species and even seven pairs of pure ones could be questioned sense knowledge wise, but also the means to bring them to Noah and finally in (not ON) the Ark. All such are questions that need answers.
    Now you can find the dimensions of the Ark in Genesis 6:15, and convert them to our current measuring units to see how unthinkably huge was that ship… But how did Noah manage to draw pairs of each specie in the Ark? It is unimaginable, but above all we can understand, GOD was in charge of HIS own business, Noah was there just for implementation, but the project was GOD’s…
    GOD bless you.
  • Pete on Genesis 7 - 12 years ago
    How did Noah fit all of those animals on the ark ? If an atheist ever asks you that question, here is your reply:
    The ones that couldn't fit rode in Santa Claus's sled.
  • Lorral Weaver on Genesis 7 - 12 years ago
    To doubting Thomas: The additional animals by sevens told to Noah, by God were to be used for eating & for sacrificing to God, see Gen 8: 20-22. there is no contradiction, both numbers apply. the twos were to be used to replenish the Earth.
  • Timothy Wayne George on Genesis 7 - 12 years ago
    The important thing to remember about the commands that were given to Noah,is that he obeyed all that God had commanded him to do, from gathering the animals two of each kind, to building the ark. Eight souls were saved because of Noah's obedience to the word of God. Noah was righteous, because in faith he believed, and acted according to the commands of God. We too must be like Noah, and believe that Jesus is the only way, the truth, and the life. No man comes to the Father except by Him. God is not going to destroy the world with a flood next time, but with fire. II Peter 3 tells about this, and God is not willing that any should perish, but that all would come to repentance. Who has believed the report? To whom shall the arm of the Lord be extended? Without faith, it is impossible to please God, for he that comes to Him must believe that He is, and will reward those who diligently seek Him. So let us not try to understand all of the particulars, but let us obey the commands.
