It's also referring to your smitings (with my stringed instruments ) which are your instruments , comparing you to the mobility of a deer able to smite on high hills in righteousness, with the authority of Jesus Christ, The Chief Musician!
  • Luke - In Reply on Habakkuk 3 - 2 years ago
Not bad, it's Referring to the smitings of God on the enemies of Israel,,, Israel meaning Christ, the enemies of Christ, The Chief Singer

Thank you for giving me this opportunity. I'm a little puzzled with chapter 3, verse 19, where it mentions "and HE will make me to walk in my high places." How exactly is this interpreted?
  • David on Habakkuk 3 - 2 years ago
May we be like the prophet in our prayers. We begin with fear and trembling; and end in joy and triumph. Let us rest in HIM, Isaiah 40: 28-31, and we will be strengthened for spiritual warfare and go forward with "greatness of heart" in Christ and out run our troubles.

Bless your day everyone as we await the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

May 31, 2022 The LORD to shine HIS face on everyone on this platform.

Hello Jan. After looking at a variety of translations, the closest version to the wording you gave of Habbakuk 3:16, is the English Standard Version. Neither the KJV nor the NKJV has the words that you remember.
  • Jan Lloyd on Habakkuk 3 - 3 years ago
This is not the version I remembered, the wording isnt all that different but the one paragraph it is very important " I hear and my body trembled, my lips quivered at the sound, and though rotteness enters into my bones, I will quietly wait for the day of trouble to come to the people that invade us"

I didn't read your interpretation, but fyi the teacher of lies is a computer and the hasty chaldeans also are a symbol for America/Britain today.

Genesis 4:9, I feel is Cain's rhetorical question to the Lord's question as to where Abel was. As such, no answer was given. Cain's question was an attempt to side-track God's probe as to Abel's whereabouts. He knew that God knew the answer, but still wanted to absolve himself of any knowledge of Abel or wrongdoing against him; somewhat like the suspected criminal doing his best to deny even being anywhere near the scene of the crime. One could possibly get away with lies & deception before the law, but who can convince God of our wrongdoing? But for Cain, the evidence was already before God & the punishment was immediate & he had no further recourse or a second hearing.

You can have a look at the following Scriptures:

Psalm 118:8,9; Jeremiah 17:5-10; Psalm 146:3; John 2:23-25. The Truths you seek are written in them.

Been hearing for years and I quote " Put your trust in no man. Man is deceitful in all his ways". Is this saying actually in the bible? Been looking but can't find it.

Verses 17 and 18-The circumstances were dire but even in those instances we can exult in Jehovah God and be joyful in the God of our salvation. Having a close friendship with God will help us to persevere.

Like hinds feet - That I may escape to God my refuge. He will make me - To conquer and triumph. 1 Corinthians 9:9-10. shall cease, God's elect shall joy in Him, "beholding His goodness, and loving Him in all things, and He will give them free affections, and fervid longings of holy love, whereby they shall not walk only, but run the way of His commandments and prevail over the enemies of their salvation."
  • Weslee on Habakkuk 3:19 - 4 years ago
( Hosea 14:8) - "from me is thy fruit found"- by Gods Holy Spirit, I am made to do what I could never do before, look to Christ, in whom is found the forgiveness of sins and a perfect righteousness. In Christ all my sins are paid for, and I have obeyed Gods law perfectly. Being dead in sins, none of this was possible for me in and of myself. "Rise, take up thy bed and walk." - ( John 5:8).
  • Chris - In Reply on Habakkuk 3:5 - 4 years ago
1 John 4:4 begins with the testing of the spirits, as there are many that are in the world. The Spirit of God indwells every true born again believer, but other spirits can still have sway in believers' minds and lives. The apostle John here is both warning and encouraging his readers that God's Spirit in them will always lead them into Light and Truth, which is what Christ's servants, the apostles, were endeavouring to do. Yet there were many other voices trying to persuade and lead believers away from the Truth to believe lies as Truth; this, says John, are false spirits: the spirit of Anti-Christ. And don't we see so much of it today: sin clothed in the garb of goodness.

    can you explain the verse....

Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.

How do we become perfect in God
  • Gary DeVeau on Habakkuk 3:5 - 4 years ago
Seeing Wesley's comment, regarding this verse, I am encouraged that our God makes room for His people by forcing the pestilence ahead of Him. Even if the many English translations I can read are not 100% clear to me, I would still want to pray to & follow the only God that plagues and pestilence listen to and obey. ? Only a foolish person would want this God as their enemy. Remember,?One Way, Jesus!?
