“In that he saith, A new covenant, he hath made the first old. Now that which decayeth and waxeth old is ready to vanish away.”
King James Version (KJV)
8:13 In saying, A new covenant, he hath antiquated the first - Hath shown that it is disannulled, and out of date. Now that which is antiquated is ready to vanish away - As it did quickly after, when the temple was destroyed.
Heb 8:13 A new [covenant], he hath made the first old. This language implied that the other covenant, the one made at Sinai, is the old covenant. That which decayeth and waxeth old [is] ready to vanish away. This language implies that the old covenant is to pass away. That it has done so is shown in the next chapter.
In that he saith, A new Couenant, he hath made the first olde. Now that which decayeth and waxeth old, is readie to vanish away.
