Focus should be on where we are going and not where we are coming from. Dont focus on the Egypt that God took you out of but the promised land you are going to. If you think so much of Egypt, you will return as the Israelites desired. Set your affections on things above Col. 3:1
There is another story ,Thomas one of the twelve said ,unless he can put his fingers and hands into Christs hand and side ,He would not believe. Then again the Christ appears to the twelve and says"behold Thomas my hands and my side". Thomas gets the opportunity, and says" behold my Lord and my God." Jesus says to Thomas, "You have seen and believe! Blessed are those who have not seen and yet believe!" When the wind blows do you see it? If ,you can't see it, does it mean it can't exist? Your interest in this website tells me different! These words from Thomas were not rehearsed, these words came from His heart and soul!
The "faith" chapter, Paul here is trying to define the indefinable. Is faith simply believing or something more tangible? Faith screeches past belief, as faith is more. It is a bet that the words written in the Bible are explicitly true, past debating. It is one's experience that God, for certain, is a rewarder, and His reward is with Him! In the garden, Jesus' night was full of angst, demonstrating his human side, but he proceded with his teaching mission. Moses endured twice 40 days and nights in supplication to El Shaddai, on behalf of the people who resorted to idolatry. The commandments were necessitated and were put into the Arc. There is no faith without obedience to God!!!
I'm Looking at Hebrews 11:35. It says women received their dead raised to life again: and others were tortured, not accepting deliverance; that they might obtain a better resurrection:
Women received their dead raised to life again?
I have some references to share with you where God did did some miraculous things to restore their children to back to them. Read 1 Kings 17:23 and 2 Kings 4:36-37.
Hebrews 11:35 goes on to say: And others, and by the way, the word others, because there are two main words in Greek, one means others of the same kind, and one means others of a different kind.
This is others of the same kind. The reason why that's important is because the others by faith experienced all these conquests.
But others of the same kind of people didn't. And it was all by faith.
And others were tortured, not accepting deliverance; that they might obtain a better resurrection:
They didn't value the survival of their life, but they were tortured and put to death, and by faith they looked to a better resurrection.
Remember also in the New Testament that Lazarus was raised from the dead.
John 19, John 20. Jesus is the firstborn of believers to be raised from the dead. The dead in Christ now: their bodies are buried and await being reunited with soul and spirit at the moment of the Rapture; in the clouds. Then the alive in Christ, Christians will be next, to be changed into our transformed bodies; incorruptible.
In scripture, God says ALL souls are MINE!
Satan can hunt our souls and try to trick us into giving it to him. We have to receive salvation to avoid satans delusion that he will get our souls. IF we die in our sins our bodies will corrupt in the grave and our souls will await the Great White Throne Judgment; afterwards the soul will be cast into hell for eternity.
If we love our souls? We'll choose Jesus to save us NOW. He is: the LOVER of our souls.
I think that if we accept the experiments conducted & hypotheses formed as a result, then the physical laws are correct (e.g. in relation to mass & energy: "that neither matter nor energy can be created nor destroyed, but converted into another form"). This assumes man's observations of matter around him which draws the above conclusion. The problem arises with Heb 11:3, when we read "that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear". We often understand this verse to mean that what we see came from things which we don't see (i.e. atoms). If we stayed with the Law of Mass & Energy, then God had to use atoms in His creative work. Is then God confined by this Law? Or dare we presume that there was no matter in infinite time, but God, Who Himself is without matter, also created the basic building blocks of matter? So what I see here is that Science can only be based on observable, experimental deductions; it simply cannot go beyond that, since that would require faith, or as they might regard it, "blind belief".
Then this creative work of God, when applied to living beings, still has its substance in matter (i.e. the (dust) of the Earth, to which it will return). Yet, as you said, "we do not die when our body dies" would be true if confined to the physical, i.e. the body (matter) returns to dust (matter). Though, can we say the same for the spirit of man? This is not matter, not created from it nor will transform in some way into it. It is God-created & will one day return back to Him (Eccl 12:7 "Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it."). This doesn't prove that we were alive before our birth but that at the giving of life, God also gave us a spirit (not matter, nor recycled) that is not subject to death. And with all this, God even knew us (about being a special creation with a specific purpose in life). God's creative Work goes well outside the bounds of human Science. Further thoughts?
this is a verse I included in my post today 6/1/2020 "The law of conservation of mass and energy stipulates, neither matter nor energy can be created nor destroyed, but converted into another form. This is a proven law of science, and seen in the exploded atom. That tiny atom did not cease, it can be detected in another form for years. As in Latin, Ex Nihilo Nihil Fit , of nothing nothing comes. Hebrews 11:3 states, "through faith we understand that the worlds were formed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear" .I get the impression that the universe was translated into this dimension from a place we do not see, maybe similar to how light exists beyond the spectrum we see with the human eye. Because all things were always someplace before they manifested here, it is possible to explain the feeling of deja'vu, and it could mean we were alive before we were born, and would explain how we do not die when our body dies. Hebrews 11:3 adds a different view to how we commonly conceive the creation story told in Genesis; taking into account words Jesus said in John 6:63 " the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life." words describing can easily be mistaken. I recall 1st Corinthians 2:14 "But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned." Being hard headed or argumentative is not the best form of open mindedness. In religion alone, there are thousands of differing views. This shows how troublesome reality can seem. Our conscious awareness is described as having a beginning, a finite mind. As we grow and learn we understand the meaning of infinite, while being able to get a view of it is different from understanding the meaning of the word. This is why I love to go out on a clear night and look at the stars, and the space all around the stars. It is like a teacher to our understanding"
if my people which are called by my name shall humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from thier wicked ways then will i hear from heaven and i will forgive their sin and heal their land 2 chronicals 7 14
were are the God fearing people, can we hear the voice our God calling us action, come and let us take back that which is stolen from us, in Jesus name we can.
Some of you might enjoy reading some of Arthur E Bloomfield's books about Israel.
Signs of the end and end of days are studies we should memorize. Matthew 24, starting at verse 3. Verse 7 mentions PESTILENCE which concerns global diseases like the black plaque in Europe, swine flu, and possibly Corona Virus. It's covering the earth and qualifies as a pestilence. There were some medium size earthquakes all over the mid-east today. It's good to pay attention to events in the world.
There's a lie being perpetuated about global warming: it is not global warming. People cannot fix or repair that. It is the creation ramping up for the end of days. 2 Peter 3:10 Forests will burn, ice will melt
That the new born babe desiring the sincere milk OF THE WORD PAUL SPEAKS OF is the H.G. tHE COMFORTER,UNLESS YA RECEIVE THE KINGDOM AS A LIL CHILD ETC Jesus said he wd abide in you forever, abide in me and i in you.He will not speak of himself but what soever he hears THAT will HE TEACH YOU.This father and son relationship between David and Solomon is a metaphor for the father and son relationship between Jesus and the comforter th H.G. Just as Solomon came out of Davids loins th H.G. will come out of Christ loins HE BREATH on them and they received the H.G his breath was his word his seed thus his LOINS the H.G. is a greater builder then Solomon in that he builds his temple in our bodies GBU
The result of sarahs faith was a child issac that was offered up then in turn was the promise made of multiplication, but christ who was an image of issac actually died thus this heavenly promise is more directed to christ and his seed a heavenly seed.i will multiply thy seed as the stars of heaven thus an israel of god will result from christ seed th word th new covenant thus we will birth a baby christ th son of man by faith thats y he is saying that which is born of the spirit is spirit thats our new innerman the h.g. a kingdom child, unless you receive the kingdom as a lil child th promise .when a woman is pregnant she has the substance of things hoped for th evidence of things not seen.
Faith comes by hearing the WORD that good seed that initiates a birth, its like pregnancy when a woman is pregnant she has the substance of things hoped for th evidence of things not seen we are the woman that is gona birth Christ in our lives hearts and minds n every facet of our being,MY lil children of whom i travail in birth till CHRIST is FORMED IN YOU THATS TH RESULT OF FAITH. AND ITS COMES BY HEARING HIS VOICE HIS WORD WHICH IS HIS SEED.Ya gotta realize they don't call him the bridegroom for nothin he has a seed to sow in HUMANITY thats y he said b/c i have spoken these WORDS ( seeds ) sorrows have filled your hearts sorrows imply a spritual pregnancy But when the child comes TH H.G.
Reading Hebrews 11 is the power of faith in the Lord I see myself as little faith but thanks to Jesus we have the opportunity through Him to reach that faith as we come closer to him. Pray for strength and courage!!!
When ya think about FAITH the substance of things hoped for th EVIDENCE of things NOT SEEN think about a PREGNANCY, GESTATION IN THE SPRITUAL REALM, UNTO US A CHILD IS BORN UNTO US A SON IS GIVEN. In the natural when a woman is pregnant she has the substance of THINGS HOPED FOR THE EVIDENCE OF THINGS NOT SEEN,THATS Y THE NEW BIRTH IS SO IMPORTANT WE ARE GONNA BIRTH CHRIST IN OUR LIVES BY FAITH.
George; "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen." Only someone who can't overcome his own pride and unbelief makes complicated entanglements of contentions about words to deny faith, while pretending to excuse himself. Without faith it is impossible to please Him! Our faith has made us whole! We are justified, counted righteous by God, because we believe!
Both phrases, "things hoped for" and "things not seen" are participial and would more accurately be rendered, "things are being hoped for," "things are being seen." Faith is not the assurance to us, but the substantiation to God that we believe what we proclaim: "I'm hoping for...," "I'm seeing..." That's how the elders obtained good reports (from God), as He saw substantiation and evidence.
14 and if Christ has not been raised, then our proclamation has been in vain and your faith has been in vain.
Note: with this I agree there is no sufficient evidence Jesus was raised therefore that is why I'm not a Christian.
