  • Kurt on Isaiah 1 - 8 years ago
My dark soul, full of sin, was struck down, burned as stubble in 1992. Since then the world has taught me to flee back to find Him and his Word. I simply cannot stay long in the world, full of lies, corruption, and false gods enticing. Sin is slavery and now my mission expands to visit a prison in Haiti. Amidst total darkness 3000 men crowd a facility designed to allow them to only stand. Kurt.

I truly love the book of Isaiah, because when I accepted Jesus as my Savior, the second verse that the Holy Spirit lead me to turn to was Isaiah 1:18.Isaiah is a very powerful book, every chapter. One must read it slowly and ingest its beauty.

  • Lucinda Palestrant on Isaiah 1 - 9 years ago
Ernetns, Job 13:3 gives " reason with God." Sorry! I spoke too soon.
  • Lucinda Palestrant on Isaiah 1 - 9 years ago
Ahoents Ernest, Can you give us scripture that tells us to "reason" with God? What I see in scripture is "believe" in and on Jesus Christ. But I would like to see scripture that gives what you say substance. thank you
  • Ahoentsu Ernest on Isaiah 1 - 9 years ago
God is so merciful to forgive us our sins and still reason with us I pray that whoever reads this will change his or her life and reason with God
  • Connie on Isaiah 1 - 9 years ago
Chapter 1:18 zEither as a individual or a nation ,God is willing to forgive our sins ,we are to turn from our ways of innitly, by overcoming the weights that can so easiy beset us ,so we are aware and know their is a warfare between good and evil going on in our members the mind one example ,that will be an on going battle, between the flesh and the spirit ,until the Lord comes back again.
  • Merilyn Ray on Isaiah 1 - 9 years ago
Piggy back to the comment by LL regarding, Christians are protected, we must remember, scriptures also states in KJV the book of Matthew 5 verse 45, That ye may be children of your Father which is in heaven: for He maketh His sun to rise on the evil and the good and sendeth rain on the just and the unjust.
  • Karl on Isaiah 1 - 9 years ago
responds to ms. Dusty; do you think perhaps the message/lesson(s) we are meant to learn from the prophetic books are just as valid in the 21st century - repent while you still can, trust in the LORD for your salvation? That same message for "stubborn rebellious children" still resonates true? How's that sound to you?
  • Ms. Dusty Garrett on Isaiah 1 - 9 years ago
    1. What do we learn about the people of Judah by God's comparison of them to rebellious children.

    2. What might be some reasons a person would ignore God's chastening hand?

    3. What are three words would you use to describe Judah's worship of God?

    4. Why are the words "before mine eyes" so important in God's instruction to Judah?

Would love to know these answers! Thanks and God Bless!

  • Danuelle Tucker on Isaiah 1 - 9 years ago
Isaiah 1 is a reflection of the times we have entered into especially in the United States we have forsaken the God that has blessed this nation in the past because we obeyed him and now we have turned our back on God and went after false God's and left for the love of money. We have become rebellious like he said and refuse to hear him until something tragic happens. It sad that's the only time people now a days take the time to hear what thus saith the Lord until misfortune come. I pray that this nation will turn back their hearts and minds to God and allow him to rid this nation of it's impurities.
  • LL on Isaiah 1 - 9 years ago
The mentioning of Sodom and Gommorah, also reminds me of the now times..if you noticed since the passing of bills all over the country for gay rights, that same behavior was extremely prevalent back then and both cities were destroyed. In addition, Bible prophecy states that people will be waxed cold...and boy are they! This country is in bad shape and a lot of that has to do with the expulsion of God in this country. People are really disobedient and moving God out of schools and other places, has caused havoc and it already is doing just that, this country is no longer protected but we as Christians, nothing will harm us..so we need to stay prayed up to intercede. God be with us

  • HARY COLLINS on Isaiah 1 - 9 years ago
God is ever ready and willing to receive us back if we can make a sincere turn from our evil life style.I advice we do it now that we still have the opportunity because the next one second might be too late.
  • Gwendolen on Isaiah 1 - 9 years ago
People are vain, people of color are being oppressed more than before, children are killin family, vanity is out of control, there is not love, people have turned away from GOD and the church and doing what pleases their flesh. Homosexuality is made legal to marry, and times are worst than ever before, but GOD is still in control, and he will get our attention. We have to began to PRAY and seek him NOW! Before destruction comes and we are consumed. I am a woman after GOD's own heart. Matt 6:33
  • Mike Vs 11 on Isaiah 1 - 9 years ago
I look at our churches today and I see much sacrifice of goods but little sacrifice of heart. God was not pleased with the bullocks and rams. Nor is he pleased with our cash or cars or whatever when he does not have our hearts. It is time that we as christians give God our heart and not simply lip service. We can walk a walk and talk a talk at church but our homes are riddled with the sins and weights of this world. Soft porn flows through almost every T.V., immodesty hangs in most closets just waiting to be worn. It is as if somhow we think that the filth we allow on the T.V. and the lack of morals we display in everyday living is somhow missed by God and he is ok with it. Obviously he was not fooled by the Israelites and he is not fooled by us.
  • Mike on Isaiah 1 - 9 years ago
It seems that Israel like the U.S. has grown so far from God that not only have they forsaken God. Not only do they not believe in Him, but they no longer consider Him to be a possibility nor his ways an option. I cannot help but look at our country and see how the masses are getting to this point and cannot help but think that a God who never changes will reap upon our nation the same punishment that he placed upon Israel for their sinfulness.
