I agree that Is. 14:12 refers to the Morning Star and not to the devil.

there is a comet comming. its called ison.
i believe it will hit the sun & produce a solar flare with will hit earth & produce an electromagnetic pulse that will knock out the power grid. I dont know if it will be worldwide but north america is expecting it. in fact newt geinrich has already outlined it. the us government is going to blame north korea for setting off a nuclear bomb over north america. they will use this as an excuse to go to war. evil exists here on earth. satan rund the governments , media health care - everything. satan plans to wipe out gods creation & replace it with his own via genetic modification & cloning. satan has no love for gods creations. he is a liar the biggest liar ever. god loves you * so do i.

The p***age is "an oracle concerning Babylon" that continues from(13:1) and describes in the wonderful prophet-poetic language of Isaiah the downfall of the great military empire that had been oppressing the people of the entire Middle East, including Judah. In this liberation from oppression, we see the vindication of YHWH, and we celebrate the fall and destruction of the one whose arrogance was such that it was as if he tried to set his throne above God in heaven. But God will always prevail to bring down the mighty (even as Mary sang in announcing the coming of Jesus).

I do not believe it is "mistranslated" in the KJV at all. I believe that it is Lucifer. The interesting thing is that Lucifer is only mentioned right here, one time, in the King James Bible. Now if you read other "modern versions," I believe they are mistranslated because they directly contradict themselves. They use 'morning star' or 'day star.'

Get your Bibles out, 'modern' or 'KJV' and look up Is. 14:12, Rev. 22:16, 2 Pet. 1:19.

If you read the rest of Is. 14 you see that he wants to be like the most high. These 'modern translations' do just that with there mistranslations.

    I agree...

It's mistranslated. The name Lucifer never was Satan's according to the holy text. If one reads Isaiah 14, he/she should easily be able to see that it is talking about the fall of the King of Babylon, and the fall of his country and family. Not Satan. Furthermore, it does NOT appear until the chapter is translated into Latin Vulgate, in around 400 A.D. It is the name for Venus, or the day-star. I could have understood how Christianity could believe this when the majority of them were illiterate, but now that it is not the case they should be embarr***ed and properly ashamed.

Very down to earth...something we all need to know and learn about.
  • Timothy Wayne George on Isaiah 14 - 12 years ago
LUCIFER WAS FULL OF PRIDE, AND THUS HE FELL FROM HIS POSITION OF SON OF THE MORNING IN HEAVEN. GOD HATES PRIDE, AND ALL THOSE THAT ALLOW THIS AWFUL SIN IN THEIR LIFE ARE HEADED FOR A FALL. WE CAN REPENT OF THIS SIN, AND HUMBLE OURSELVES UNDER THE MIGHTY HAND OF GOD. THE LORD WILL EXALT THEE AT THE APPOINTED TIME. FALLEN ANGELS ARE DOOMED TO HELL, AND THE LAKE OF FIRE. MAY ALL THOSE WHO NEED JESUS, RECEIVE HIM INTO THEIR HEART, AND AT THE JUDGEMENT WE WILL JUDGE THE FALLEN ANGELS.
  • Walter on Isaiah 14 - 13 years ago

Be ye Holy for I am Holy thus said the Lord of Hosts. This one of the most important keys to the
Kingdom of God and our faith in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ unlocks the door.
