Hi Matt H. On the contrary We confess with our mouth then believe in the heart which is biblically the seat of any persons personal life and only God knows whats in the heart of any man. in proverbs it says to guard your heart with all diligence for out of it are the issues of life. Then you have the great commandment also known as the royal law , to love God with all your HEART[innermost part of your being] soul mind and strength. You can love with your mind and body phileo but to include your heart innermost part of you requires giving yourself entirely. That is what Our master Jesus Christ did with his whole being. You cannnot Love God unless you are born again, which is Gods job and our job is to put that to heart and change our life accordingly put on It Is Written.
  • Matt H. - In Reply on Isaiah 18 - 3 years ago
As you just spoke of head knowledge bng far inferior to "heart" comprehension, I then see you cannot define or characterize "heart."

In fact, accepting Christ's Divinity and Completed Work is entirely about head knowledge from either hearing or reading the Gospel. You cannot refute this in any manner.
  • Rick - In Reply on Isaiah 18 - 3 years ago
Hello Matt If what your stating a lot of what you hear being taught have no clarity and appear to be salespitches that's because for most its a head trip of knowledge Jesus Christ spoke the wisdom of God by Spirit inspired sayings not head knowledge with no heart, that's what the pharisees and sadducees and politicians did and somethings haven't changed much.
  • Matt H. - In Reply on Isaiah 18 - 3 years ago
Christ spoke with clarity in economy of words, according to Prov. 10:19. The pro forma speaking of all facets upon a Truth from God is not economy. Christ did not speak winded sales pitches.

    1 John 2:27-29
  • David - In Reply on Isaiah 18 - 3 years ago
Hi Matt H. Please explain the clarity is rare, are you saying explanations of things scripturally?
  • Matt H. on Isaiah 18 - 3 years ago
Does a life of studying God's Word in Faith enable one to articulate obscure assessments of it, and to deny clarity?

Apparently so. Clarity is rare. Professional church talk abounds.

Nigeria is well divided by two rivers... Two rivers meet in Nigeria and flow downward creating a third
  • John on Isaiah 18 - 3 years ago
The genealogy of one of the tribe in kenya is of Asher the lost tribe of Israelites and that is kikuyu which practice judaism even before colonialism
  • Chris - In Reply on Isaiah 18:3 - 3 years ago
In Hebrew, as I gather, 'kenya' means 'animal horn'. And Isaiah 18:1 could be referring to any country which is "beyond the rivers of Ethiopia". Do you have more information on why that country should be Kenya?
  • John on Isaiah 18:3 - 3 years ago
Did you know that Kenya is a hebrew is word meaning isaiah 18 is talking about kenya
  • Phillip Gallegos on Isaiah 18 - 4 years ago
Bob, I believe that Eve's DNA as created by God was not fallen, the DNA of Cain was corrupt due to Satan's seed.
  • Bob Hilt - In Reply on Isaiah 18 - 4 years ago
    I just saw this question:

Romans 5:12 Wherefore, as by one (Adam) man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:

Sin nature or fallen DNA passed upon all creation which is why we needed a redeemer or savior.

1 Corinthians 15:22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.

Hebrews 4:15 For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. Jesus was without sin as our high priest.

What nation is referred to as "The land beyond Ethiopia" in Isaiah Chapter 18?

How many times is holy ghost in the kjv bible
  • David Adrian - In Reply on Isaiah 18 - 4 years ago
Those definitions are correct, of course, but they don't explain the inconsistencies I cited.
  • T. Levis - In Reply on Isaiah 18 - 4 years ago
Thine = (web dictionary) pertaing to self ownership, belonging to, also 'yours'
Thy = (web dictionary) the possessive case of thou, also meaning 'your'
  • David Adrian on Isaiah 18 - 4 years ago
In the KJV as a rule, the possessive pronouns mine and thine are used instead of my and thy when the words they modify begin with vowels. However, there are many exceptions, in the Book of Psalms, at least. I was particularly struck by Psalm 20, Verses 3 and 4:

3 Remember all thy offerings, and accept thy burnt sacrifice.
4 Grant thee according to thine own heart, and fulfil all thy counsel.

In Verse 3, "thy offerings" is followed in Verse 4 by "thine own". What explains such an inconsistency?
  • Phillip Gallegos - In Reply on Isaiah 18 - 4 years ago
Sir what is meant by fallen dna?
  • Bob Hilt - In Reply on Isaiah 18 - 4 years ago
The reference of Melchizedek with no beginning of days and no (earthly) Father or Mother is a veiled reference to Jesus who was Christ. Jesus had the same parents that the first adam had and he was called the last adam.
1 Corinthians 15:45 And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit.
This is why the virgin birth was important as Mary carried Jesus in her womb, but her fallen DNA was not used. Jesus had the same parents as the first adam. you may want to reread this if it does not make sense.
Jesus always existed with the Father, no beginning of days
  • Robert DeFord on Isaiah 18 - 4 years ago
Who or what does Melchizedek mean for us today? No father, no mother, no beginning or end of days. Not a human?
  • Marlo on Isaiah 18 - 5 years ago
Before geopolitics, only present day Tunisia was known as Africa. The land mass south of Lybia was known as AEthiopia by the Greeks. There were scores of ethnic tribes allied under the main and most powerful family called Ethiopia, Cush, or Nubia. The key is "whose land the rivers have spoiled" does not reflect the modern day borders of Israel, but that of ancient Nubia.
  • Marlo on Isaiah 18 - 5 years ago
This passage could very well be pointing to the time of the European powers trek into West Africa starting around 1492. This contact came as a result of the fall of Constantinople, and Europe needing to find an alternate trade route. The Arabs had direct contact with the Western Empires of Africa as it pertains to trade. Hence the first contact were by the Portugese.
  • Linda on Isaiah 18 - 5 years ago
Now, if we narrow our lens, Isiah is probably talking about the great salt lake, bka the Dead Sea, which is bordered by Jordan, Israel and the West Bank; and the Wadi Arabah area, which was repeatedly flood by the Mediterranean Sea. But he is not talking about any part of Africa, as some has suggested. He said across the sea from Ethiopia.
  • Linda on Isaiah 18 - 5 years ago
It's not any part of Africa, as some suggest. It's says across the sea. Africa has no seas running through it. The seas are the Mediterranean Sea, Aegean and Black Sea. You have to rule out the Red Sea, because Asia, too, is resource rich. That means it's Europe. As history tells us, much of Europe had precious little. That's one of the reasons why they left it. Some argue the main reason.
  • MOSES on Isaiah 18 - 6 years ago
check the ancient maps of the ancient world and you will know the real part of Africa reffered to in this verse as Ethiopia.
  • George W Kinerson on Isaiah 18 - 6 years ago

ethiopia being fringe of civilization in Isaiah's time. Isaiah was talking about a nation beyond civilization, beyond an ocean, beyond an ocean doesn't fit any nation in Africa. Isaiah used the word Ethiopia explaining beyond civilization and then adds beyond a sea. A strong people from their beginning, and whole world sees and hears everything they do, surely could be America.
  • Titus mutua on Isaiah 18 - 7 years ago
its well to share the word

Syria capitivity. Scattered the tribes across the caucasus mountains to europe, america, canada Scattered and peeled. Divided by rivers
  • David Nyok on Isaiah 18 - 8 years ago
