More than ever, we must follow king Hezekiah's lead and go before our LORD for HIS salvation and grace. Our current woes we face are from within our own leadership and not from the outside, so to speak.
We have the power in CHRIST name to go before the LORD'S throne of grace and humble ourselves and call on HIM to bring relief to our borders on all areas and levels in our nation.
2 Chronicles 7: 14, 15
We should repeat Hezekiah's cry in 37:20
"Now therefore, O LORD our God, save us from his hand, that all the kingdoms of the earth may know that thou art the LORD, even thou only."
I've often included Exodus 8:22, 23 for GOD'S hand of protection and provision for HIS saints in my prayers.
I thank the LORD for HIS faithfulness to HIS promises; may we be faithful in our obedience to HIS word and be willing to go forth and plant the seed and water as we are called to do.
GOD bless all on this forum and may we continually praise and glorify HIM. GOD to shine HIS face on all the saints and gloriously bless you all.
GiGi, I believe the first line of the hymn, 'King of my life, I crown Thee now', is its title. You can read the words & hear the piano music at Hymnal dot net, searching for it using the first line.
David quoted the first stanza & refrain of an old hymn (of four stanzas). Looking further into it, it was written by Jennie Evelyn Hussey (1874-1958) & as a young girl of eight, she would often write several verses. She had Quaker roots, born at Henniker, NH & buried in Concord, NH.
Interesting that you bring up Hezekiah, the LORD several times put that name in my thoughts. In 2 Chronicles 28:27 - 2 Chronicles 29, 30, 31, Hezekiah did much good. 2 Chronicle 32:30,
I felt a warning also about being like Hezekiah. In 2 Kings 18:16 , Hezekiah "cut off the gold from the doors of the temple of the LORD, and from the pillars._.' & gave it to the king of Assyira" I asked myself was it to save the people from war? Was it fear? Either way all that sacrifice & peace offering didn't stop the evil nor the attacks. 2 Kings 18:17-32, they even used that against Hezekiah when they mocked. 2 Kings 18:22, 2 Kings 18:29-30, 2 Chronicle 32, Isaiah 36:7-22,
Then Hezekiah came to Isaiah 2 Kings 19:1-5, & sought-after the LORD 2Kings 19:14-16,
Another warning I felt 2 Kings 20:12-18,
& 2Kings 20:19, he seemed unconcerned about the bad consequences Hezekiah himself had caused to his own offspring. 2 Chronicles 32:25-26, 2 Chronicles 32:27,
Hopefully these speak deeper to you as they did me. GOD help us * not give what is HOLY & sanctified to GOD over to enemies, * that we won't cause bad consequences to future generations, * that we will care about future generations & not life ourselves too highly with treasure. Remember Isaiah 1:23, Exodus 32:8, Deuteronomy 16:19,
Except receive the Gifts of GOD: 1 Corinthians 12, & 13
I worship the Lord in my heart and soul. May we be as Hezekiah, and go to the Lord God first. Our nation and leaders need to know the Savior and cling to the promises of the Lord God. In these troubled times were are in; the Lord Jesus Christ is our only answer, comfort, peace and joy. Psalms 98
"King of my life, I crown Thee now, Thine shall the glory be
Lest I forget Thy thorn crowned brow, Lead me to Calvary.
Lest I forget Gethsemane, Lest I forget Thine agony; Lest I forget Thy love for me, Lead me to Calvary."
In the Bible trivia for this chapter the question was asked who killed over five thousand men and the answer given was an angel but the comment was that the angel only killed five thousand but it was 185,000.
The Word of God is God ( John 1:1) and not for any private interpretation ( 2 Peter 1:20). If it records in Rev. 12:9 that this whole world has been deceived, it did not speak of a particular country, group of people, person or religion, it meant the whole world.
For a better understanding and the 'spiritual truth' what it means to repent, and learn how and by whom ( 2 Cor. 11:13-15) this whole world has been deceived and what mankind must do to be reunited with the true and living God, we invite you to seek Him according to the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive ( Matthew 7:7; John 14:17).
The word 'Repent' in different forms (repent, repentance, repented, repentest, repenteth, repenting), is mentioned 110 times in the KJV, and there seems to be a great misconception what the true 'spiritual' meaning of the word is. The word 'repent' used in the New Testament was translated from the Greek word "metanoeo", and means to change, transform, to think differently or reconsider.
Only through Repentance will God be able to reveal Himself, and adopt you as His sons and daughters ( Rom. 8:15,23; 2 Cor.6:18; Gal. 4:5; Eph. 1:5; Hebr. 12:5; 1 John 3:1) and reveal to you how this whole world has been deceived ( Rev. 12:9) and overcome this world ( 1 John 5:4).
The word 'Repent' means a lot more than what people by nature have been conditioned to believe. It is the key principle of all the teachings of Jesus Christ and the axiom (basis) of the Word of God and a prerequisite and primary requirement for the salvation of mankind. It means the changing of spirits - to turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan unto God ( Acts 26:18).
It is only by revelation of God that people will come to know the true Christ ( Daniel 12:4,9; Amos 3:7; Matthew 16:17; Luke 2:26; Romans 16:25; 1 Cor. 2:10; Gal. 1:16; Eph. 3:3,5; Rev. 1:1). It should be remembered that it is a narrow way that leadeth unto 'Life', and few there be that find it ( Matthew 7:14).
When I read " beseech thee, how I have walked before thee in truth and with a perfect heart" I thought that is not me. I think God saw Hezekiah's full, wholeheart effort and because His ways are above our ways He accepted the heartfelt prayer. 1 Timothy 1:15
Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners -- of whom I am the worst.
Yep, like what Timothy had to say on this verse. Lean not on your own understanding! The Holy Spirit is our guide and teacher. He was sent to keep us after Jesus returned to the father.
There are three parts to you ... You are a person with a soul , You have a spirit , You are someone's child . Why is it so hard , and these three are one .
To Andrew, 1 year ago - Where in God's word does it say 'God in 3 persons' or 'God the son'. It does say, 'Jesus, the son of God', but never 'God the son'.
Impressive. God really saved Jerusalem. But, the incident even made Herodotus, where Egyptians claimed credit because mice ate bow strings and shield straps, according to them. Only a really big event ever gets such a twisted take.
we look at 2 kings a book of history in Isaiah is books of major prophets. Isaiah was writing of the same time as these kings lived. Some of 2kings and 2 chronicles tell of the same things that happen just like in Jeremiah history and prophet of the same times.
That is not 3 Gods, it is 3 persons in ONE God. There is only ONE God. Why 3 persons in one God, will remain a mystery, and will always be until we be in Heaven. All throughout the Bible is the Trinity. I have no trouble with that. This is what we call faith, faith in the word of God, when we cannot understand, but because God spoke it, we just believe.
Grant, What trouble are you talking about? I know you are refering to the Christian 's believe about the Trinity. That is, God the Father, God the Son and God the HolyGhost. Pls, relax with what you believe and leave the Christians alone who believe in Trinity. If you know the word of God, you will not argue about the Trinity. Christians do not believe in three gods but base their believe on three personalities in one GOD ok. After the fall of man, man lost his relationship with his maker Gen. 3 . God out of His goodness and mercy, sent His only begotten son Jesus Christ to redeem and reconcile man back to Himself John 3 16 . He came in the nature of man in order to relate well with His creature.Jesus exist before the world came into being John 1 The sacrifice He made on the cross paid the utmost price for humanity and anyone who believes and accept Jesus as his or her saviour and Lord, will be saved. Then God will send the third person in Trinity the HolyGhost to guide and direct him or her in righeousness of our Lord Jesus. Thanks.
Have you received a letter or email that has troubled you? Then do what Hezekiah did, and spread it before the Lord in prayer. God alone is God, and He will not be blasphemed by other people without consequences. After Hezekiah prayed to God, the answer was given, and God moved on behalf of his servant. The angel of the Lord smote 185,000 Assyrians the next morning. God is still on the throne, and He rules in the affairs of men. All the leaders of this world are as grasshoppers, and God uses them to accomplish His will on Earth. So trust in the Lord, and do good, so shall thou dwell in the land; verily thou shall be provided for. Worry about nothing, but with prayer, and thanksgiving, let your request be made known unto to God. The peace of God will compass your mind in Christ Jesus.
We have the power in CHRIST name to go before the LORD'S throne of grace and humble ourselves and call on HIM to bring relief to our borders on all areas and levels in our nation.

What a lovely lyric/poem
I don't recognize it. What is the source?
