  • Senya Paul on Isaiah 5 - 12 years ago
What I've learnt from this chapter is, God wants his children to be wise.

The Lord is not saying don't drink, but He is letting one know the ramifications of what drinking in certain manners bring.
From verse 20-24 The Lord is pointing out some serious faults of mankind, and even so called church members of today.
Isaiah 5 is very edifying and a revealing and encouraging piece of work...thought provoking for those who have been going through, and a word of caution for those who have been doing the provoking under the guise of being a child of God.
    Powerful chapter, and strengthening.

I have enjoyed reading this chapter andfind it very intereting that man will not follow theinstruction of God. Stong drink hs been a problem for a long time. however people don't seem to take heed to the fact tht we wil have to pay for deeds done in this body. Interestingly enough, hell is widening every day. Some christians think that they can drink wine with their meals and just at any time. We need to be sober to make righteous decisions.

God has been so gracious towards humanity, ye we have repaid Him with evil. What is worse, is that we have the temerity to tell how we will relate to Him, while pursuing own own ungodly lusts. There canbe no mistake. God expects obedience to ALL HIS COMMANDMENTS!! By ourselves, such obedience is impossible. But thanks be to God!! His grace and power will enable the weakest man or woman to obey His perfect will. Then, instead of 'wild grapes', we will manifest ' the fruit of the Spirit'!!
  • Esther on Isaiah 5 - 13 years ago
I noticed that two of the woes pronounced are upon those that drink or are intoxicated. Intoxication is a state of no self control, which God does not approve.
  • Sarah on Isaiah 5 - 14 years ago
