The Word is saying, "The Fast", is to get your eyes off yourself. Dealing to others the depth into the teachings you have received. You can only teach what you know to be true by what you have experienced from God. Anything less is unfruitful to others and shows the degree of your own comprehension. Luke 22:31-2

Without Fasting the way Isaiah 58 explains God can't accept Fasting for it must be done according to the Word of God!

This precept is admonishing all awaken israelites to speak to their fellow brethren and sisters about their forgotten heritage. Jeremiah 17:4 let you know that Jacob children lost their way by sinning against their power. A command from the Heavenly Father is to show those lost sheep how they continue to sin against God. Thank you trecentillion plus times you highly esteemed servants of God for affording us this platform.We are both equipped and perfected as our Triune God explicates what True Fasting and Prayer entails(Verses 6-7;10) and the benefits that accrue to us for doing it (verses 8-9;11-14)!We take a leaf from this God's prophecy!

Being on a fast opens up our Spiritual realms

God is teaching us how we should fast and again we should not forsake the sabbath.

I found my verse

The very fact that in the first book of Genesis...God says let us mold man in our image..emphasis on "our"..plural..meaning God the Father, Son, Holy Spirit..we are all lower case god's....keeping our bodies pure...holy..is our reasonable service..in fact our expectation....God regards true fasting..not just as a mere exercise..or deprivation..but Wholly in our temperance..our love for one another...and in our Charity not just giving ...He will cause us to ride upon the great high places on earth...abundant riches..spiritual and material prosperity!

Isaiah 58 is a very good verse

God is speaking directly to my situation and my heart. This is also confirmation on the Book of Joel 2 where God invites his children back to the heart of worship. To return to God with supplication, mouning and fasting. Im so inlove with Jesus but im batteling in fasting and these scriptures God speaks directly to me. Im in desperate need to get my spiritually life going and need guidance how to overcome this obsticle. I so much want to fast on a regular basis.

Isaiah 58Vs13 14 hints on the importance of obeying and keeping the Sabbath Day Holy the 7th Day of The week 'Saturday ' many are lost in the worldly made sabbath day instead of worshipping him on his holy day the Godly made Sabbath. Here enlightens us on the reward of obeying his commandment "4th ". May we be blessed as we obey. Amen

Isaiah Chapter 58 seeks to assures us that when we do unto others as we expect others to do unto us, his blessings will be bestowed on us, and all these attributes are pathways for eternal life. See below a relevant scripture .Matt.25 34 35 And He willput the sheep on His right, and the goats on His left. Then the King will say to those on His right, "Come you who are blessed of My Father, inherit the Kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave Me something to drink, I was a stranger, and you invited Me in..... "

I believe that we show the love of Jesus. We do what Jesus has done. We share like Jesus we love like Jesus. We give likeJesus. We honour God through Jesus because we will fail. Jesus will never fail. And we believe in Jesus the one who does the work in our daily life. Its all about JESUS.

Verses 13 14 are 2 of my favorite. I wonder, though, what precisely does it mean to "ride upon the high places of the earth "?? "and feed thee with the heritage of Jacob thy father "??

The entire bible is to be honored, and obeyed Isaiah 58 is a reminder that we choosing to do things our way is not acceptable to God.Trust in the Lord with all our hearts and not our understanding, let the Holy Spirit do His work.

Isaiah 58 6 9 is a lifeline for us in sickness, a promise of hope and recovery, focus on the needs of others and help them, and our recovery will quickly arrive. All because of Jesus

Isaiah 58 7,8 fasting is good according to the word of God,but I think if I can share my bread with the poor and cover the naked, and bring out casted poor into my house, I think this is all what our Lord call true fasting by doing this God will meet my need.

Ethel comment about Isaiah 58, IS About denying yourself, the flesh and all its desires. its called afflicting the body. that 's when prayers are truly prayed, to me God except that as a sacrifice, giving yourself, afflicting, and denying your body of its nourishments, from the rising of the sun until the going down of the same, undisturb, undefiled, just praying, reading, and pure praising, God sees and hear you,and answers...Amen

Isaiah 58 tells us to be humble during fasting and also to give a helping hand to the less privilege around us, and this will make answers from the Lord God come fast.
