Isaiah Chapter 63 Discussion

God said his Spirit would not always be with us.

Man needed to listen and obey as he try's to turn all people around .

Its knot his will that any should perish but all come to him and repent.

He lay his life down for us we need give him ours.

Hi Steve. A wine vat would be the receptacle for wine storage, as in a wine barrel or jar/urn. Whereas a 'winefat', I understand is where the juice of the grapes collects beneath the winepress. However, this meaning is violated in Isaiah 63:2, where the person is said to 'tread IN the winefat'; one wouldn't put his feet into the juice, rather in the winepress to tread the grapes. It's possible that the translators didn't consider the correct application in this instance, as in Mark 12:1. The Hebrew for winefat in Isaiah 63:2, renders it as 'winepress'. Thanks for that interesting question.

Isaiah 63: v2, winefat? Used in 3 of my kjv. Why not use winevat?

    To CARLETON

The Word of God is God ( John 1:1) and the scriptural references we use serve as confirmation that it is not us that speak, but the Spirit of our Father that speaketh in us ( 2 Samuel 23:2; Matthew 10:20; Acts 4:8; 6:10).

Why do ye not understand me? Please read 1 Cor. 2:14 and John 8:43-45 and you will learn who erred.

We must now shake the dust of our feet and continue our communication with those where our work may be fruitful ( Matthew 10:14; Mark 6:11; Luke 9:5) and please remember: Ye must repent and turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan unto God ( Acts 26:18).

Seek, and ye shall find ( Matthew 7:7).

    In His Service.

You would have the right to protect your family, even if you was not a Christen.

Maribell, I believe that the Devil created evil by his first action to oppose God. Jesus said in John 8:44: "Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it." This verse tells us that from the very beginning the Devil's sinful condition & existence was evident.

Also read Ezekiel 28:12-19 & particularly verse 15, "Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee." Though this discourse is directed to the King of Tyrus, it clearly has a strong reference to the wicked spirit within the heart of the King (read from verse 2) that has its root in the Devil (formerly an anointed cherub in Heaven).

We don't understand the mechanics of the actual start of evil since something pure (e.g. a glass of clean water) doesn't magically become dirty unless something dirty is added to it. But we believe that in spite of the Cherub's purity in his creation by God, something entered his 'heart' to want oppose his Creator, to be like God (pride), to be disobedient & to start his own following of angels that sinned with him. And aren't these the very reasons for Adam & Eve's downfall & all of mankind? We are disobedient & want to believe that we are 'demi gods' who are equipped with God's Wisdom & Power & can do anything we want, even in opposition to God's Will & Design. Yet, we soon find that we fall woefully short of perfection & the Devil himself knows that he can never be like God & will one day have to pay eternally for his wickedness & leading so many people into Hell with him. That's why God in His great Love sent His pure Son to save us & forever defeat the works of the Devil in us.

    Who created evil?

some time God people forget that God needs no help at all, when time to go to battle we are to turn it over and put it in the Lord hands and step back and watch how the Lord work. God has shown man over thousands of years that He is Faithful and committed to us, it's man who has a problem with being faithful and committed to God. we as believers need stop and reflect on our pass and remember how many times the Lord has delivers us from our trail and tribulations.
we should pray and ask the Lord to renew the love we had when we first received Him in our life.

Thank you for this comment. It opened and will open the eyes of many that don t believe in Christ as the savior but say he was a great prophet. It shows the Old Testament prophecy of Jesus as our Savior and links the Old Testament to the New Testament. So blessed for this

Verse 16 is clearly prophetic of the GENTILES, Several times Isaiah had prophecied that God was gonna be a light unto the Gentiles, Abraham was ignorant of it and Israel acknowleded THEM not but God was also the father of the Gentiles and their Redemmer also,GOD SO LOVED THE WORLD MEANING HUMANITY THUS THERE IS NO MORE JEW OR GENTILE IN CHRIST HE TOOK OF THE TWAIN AND MADE 1 NEW MAN WHICH IS H.G.

This is a future prohecy about judgement on the nation of Edom. It will be imperative to understand nations according to the Holy Bible in order to properly digest what is happening in this precept. Moreover, Christ is seen in this scripture having compassion on his Covenanted people and taking vengeance on the nation that have wronged his people. Refer to Revelation 19:13-15 for more clarity.

Verse 8 shows the confidence that God had in the Israelites. He had faith that they would remain loyal to him and choose the right course. God let them exercise their free will and some chose to use it in the wrong way. God gives us the same choice today and he has faith that we want to do what is right.

Most of the Bible reading give you deeper understanding from spiritual point of view. Isaiah 63 speaks mostly about Isreal, sinning was becoming very serious in the eye of God, He will bring His punishment upon them if they refused yo repent. God is a Person of justice, but the world today have chage in all aspects of provoking the creator. But let us stills focus in prayers as we continue to reason with the scripture, till our redeemer come.

As a Christian for 47 of my 58 years and a pastor 's wife for 34 years, I recognize this in one of our own ten children....maybe two. So I look to the Lord to work in their hearts and return and awaken them to know Him. They are spiritually blind.

If you do not know that Jesus is the God of the Old Testament, listen to what is written in Isaiah 63, verses 8 and 9, 'He said, 'They are my very own, surely they will not be false again. ' And he became their Savior. In all their suffering he also suffered, and he personally rescued them. In his love and mercy he redeemed them. ' I ask you, who is our Savior but Jesus? Who has rescued us from sin and death but Jesus? Do you see the point? I can go even further. In verse 16 the people said to God as Jesus, 'Surely you are still our Father! Even if Abraham and Jacob would disown us, Lord, you would still be our Father. You are our Redeemer from ages past. ' Saints, let 's look at Jesus the way the Bible does. This verse says that Jesus is our Redeemer, the one who purchased our freedom from sin with his blood. But then it says that Jesus is our Father. So let 's look at Jesus the way the Bible does. But some will say, what about the Father of the Gospels. The answer is, God has two other personalities besides Jesus. They are the Father and the Holy Spirit. The Father is the way God directs his affairs, and the Holy Spirit is the way God inspires us to believe. But in all cases, Jesus is the personality through whom God speaks to us. Jesus often spoke of the Father and the Holy Spirit. But if you look closely, you will see that any direct words spoken by God are always through Jesus. God bless you!

The scripture verse goes against our nature to doubt our sonship. The declaration that God is our Father cannot be contested. God is not only our Father, but our Redeemer whose name is everlasting.
