JAMES CHAPTER 1 1 28 2015 8:15 PM This was written unto the 12 tribes of Israel, and to Jewish Christians. I do believe we can do it in our spiritual life of living. For it is written in EPHESIANS 2:8-9,12-13. TO GOD BE THE GLORY through unto the Lord Jesus Christ our Saviour. A-men.

Our prayers are meaningless unless we pray in faith. We have to be born again in Christ to talk with God. That is the gift that God have us all.

I think that James is saying that when we resist temptation we are taming the flesh. The psalmist says, "that for in the flesh lies no good thing. " Once we have tamed the flesh a crown of life is our reward. We are being tried, or tested in other words to see how much we have grown in our faith. We are over comers when we resist temptation. Jesus resisted temptation in the wilderness, though his flesh was screaming for relief, in other words for sustenance. He did not bough down to its desires. He also did not bough down to filthy lucre, the offer of riches. He overcame, so we must also overcome.Though we may fail some of these trials, we are still under grace, and it is sufficient. Oh the beauty of the power of the blood covering. We can 't fail in the eyes of God but this should not prevent us from striving to do our best to overcome all temptations.

  • MockingBird on James 1:17 - 10 years ago
If it is good and if it is perfect then it came from God. I must take to heart that He said that the gift is both good and perfect. If one lacks another then it is not from God . It has to be in the light for God is light. Also there is no turning or variableness with Him. He does not change from one thing to another. God is so GOOOOOG !!!!

Endure the temptation. Do good. Give no place to sin. Ask for and seek wisdom in faith.
  • Evangelist Chatauna Robinson on James 1 - 10 years ago
Hello Marie You have to do more than just believe. You have to follow Acts 2 38 in order to be saved. The devils believe and tremble, James 2 19 "Thou believest that there is one God thou doest well the devils also believe, and tremble ". We have to go one step further and actually put our faith into works. Because faith without works is dead, James 2 26 "For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also ".

I must ask in faith I cannot be wishie washie about asking God for a thing. I must be determined to receive what God says a lot of the times what God says is contrary to my thinking so I must be willing to accept what He says and go with it. God will back me with His word all the time. I cannot ask for anything better than that !!!!!

James explains it perfectly God does not tempt any man, every man is tempted when he is drawn away by his own lusts, and enticed, and if you let it have it 's way it conceives sin, we are under the curse since Adam we half to have faith and live with it.

Hello Kandyse I would like to add to my 2 part response. I do not know if they will allow part 2 to come out. However, when you do not know what to pray for follow Jesus Christ instructions on how to pray Matthew 6 6 thru 13. In addition to this pray if you are not saved ask God to save you. If you are saved according to Acts 2 38 ask God to keep you saved.
  • Evangelist Chatauna Robinson on James 1 - 10 years ago
Part 1 of 2 Hello Kandyse I do not know if they will allow this to be posted. There are four types of fasting. One is an assembly called fast. This is where the leader of the church calls for a fast. Joel 1 14 is an example of this. There is a group fast. This is where a small gathering may come together and fast and pray for various things. Paul and Barnabas give an example Acts 14 23. Then you have the fast that a wife and husband consent to for either the both of them or one or the other. In other words, you have to get permission to go on a fast from your spouse so that Satan does not tempt you, 1 Corinthians 7 5. Then there is the private fast. This is where a lot of people fall short. They tell everybody they are fasting. They show a sad continence. They already have their reward. Jesus Christ gave instructions on how to fast, Matthew 6 16 thru 18.

The word of God is life and that life in us cannot grow without having faith and believing on the righteousness of the word that can transforms to be hearers and doers of the word.

  • Evangelist Chatauna Robinson on James 1 - 10 years ago
Hello Jim Hebrews 11 1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. James 2 17 Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone. You have to have the Holy Ghost and follow Acts 2 38 the salvation plan. This is the action that you take after you believe that Jesus Christ is both Lord and Savior. The devils believe and tremble, James 2 19 Thou believest that there is one God thou doest well the devils also believe, and tremble.

The word of the Eternal is just and true and obedience to it will guarantee salvation. But blind faith and many words of praise are useless if not followed by righteous action

If anyone lacks wisdom knowledge intelligence, just simply ask God. Any request for knowledge is a stepping stone to finding the truth of or in all knowledge. He promises here that you will not be reproached, upbraideth not chastised, 'put down '. The promise here is you will receive the knowledge that you request. He doesn 't say he 's going to help someone just because they are christian or they might be a religous leader either. This is for everyone that needs help. That is reflected in the surrounding verses.
  • Bill on James 1:21 - 10 years ago
I believe the Holy Spirit is the engrafted implanted Word, referred to in James 1 21, receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls. The phrase save your souls, in this context, does not mean to save from eternal condemnation. It means to sanctify. Thus the child of God is commanded to receive i.e, accept the engrafted Word the Holy Spirit Who teaches us the written Word and impresses upon our heart truths that we need in order to grow. In other words, He sanctifies us through the Word. Jesus prayed, Sanctify them through thy truth thy word is truth John 17 17 .
