This confirms in John 8:32, we must walk in the truth as it revealed to us by the Holy Spirit of God the Father. Praise God for His Grace.

Susan, this is really beautiful. Thank you for sharing. I want to think of myself to be like a female version of David. It really takes a lot of effort though.
  • Susan on Jeremiah 17:7 - 2 years ago
This verse is telling me that the heart is deceitful unless it is trusting in the Lord. It tells me that trusting in oneself is not faith. Without God the nature of mankind is self-serving and leads to wickedness whether the heart feels it or not because of the results and encouragement people receive for their actions and words. King David was a man after God's own heart. He was not perfect and made mistakes but repented and felt grieved in his heart for disobeying the Lord. He loved God deeply and sought him with all his heart. He wanted a relationship with God that was honorable and of love. This may be what the verses meant about God searching the heart and trying the reigns. He wants to know if we really love Him deeply or are just saying the words and carrying out works. This is what this means to me and is a constant reminder of who created me and who I worship and why

Praise the Lord for the many comments and praise reports declared on this platform. Just a few notes to help us in our walk with the Lord Jesus Christ. Since the fall of the first Adam the human heart was never pure to begin with. All who came into this world came as the Lord said with "... heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked..." When we trust in the Lord Jesus Christ as our Saviour, we are given a new heart. Eze 36:26; 2 Cor 3:3

In our reading of Jeremiah 17, the rulers and people were told to keep the Sabbath. Seems pretty easy, except to truly keep the Sabbath in a manner that is pleasing to the Lord would really mean strictly following the rest of the commandments. As a Jew, they would have to know everything that went to the preparation and executing the proper etiquette of the Sabbath to please the Lord. It would be tantamount for me to know who my Lord God is in order to worship Him in Truth and in Spirit. Other wise my worship of the Lord in attending a church service would be meaningless and would not give my God the glory or praise He so richly deserves. Hebrews 10:25

These comments were not meant to hurt anyones feelings. Just to help in our discussion. God bless everyone. May the Lord bless our nation as we learn more of Him and apply the wisdom of Christ in our lives. February 24, 2022

I just read this from a scripture I had from yesterday. I needed to read and know this!!! Thank You, Lord Jesus Christ!

The BIBLE, which is the only true word of God says that the heart is deceitful and desperately wicked. We cannot dare to change this to satisfy our thoughts. We are born into sin as a result of the fall. We must Not trust in our own ways. We must rely on the Bible, ask God for understanding and not lean on our own. Please read Proverbs 3:5-6.

There is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved other than the name Christ Jesus, for He is the Living Water, He is the Bread of Life, His is the saving blood. Jesus is the way, and the truth and the life and no man can come to the Father except through Jesus Christ.

I will always trust in the Lord, some time we get weary and go to the world thinking it can help me. Yes every one get side track before we realize that it the Lord that I trust and he will deliver me not man. Put your trust in the Lord, man will fail you. God is the one that can give you life or take it away. Trust the Lord,he is the only one that can put you in heaven or he. Fear the Lord and do his will. In reference to Jeremiah 17

(just like above), ready or not the wrath of Jehovah / GOD is upon us whether we see it or not see it; the pain of the wrath shall suddenly make itself known to 'all' on that day; it is like the 'hour' that suddenly comes when a women must give birth; ready or not we / she shall go through it. Thank GOD for the BLOOD OF JESUS / EMMANUEL.

Verses 9,10~We can't read hearts, but Jehovah God can. We must put our trust in him and not our imperfect hearts.
  • BSP on Jeremiah 17 - 6 years ago
Verses 5,6~If we rely on human power we can't have Jehovah God's favor. We should trust in Jehovah God with all our heart.
  • Aurelious on Jeremiah 17 - 6 years ago
The heart is not always wicked. They heart becomes wicked from wicked thoughts. The purest form of love is that of a child. Our hearts start out pure and become wicked and deceitful as we get older falling victim to wicked thoughts. We need to seek God to flush out that wickedness and return our hearts to its pure form by filling it with the Love of God.
  • Gee law on Jeremiah 17 - 6 years ago
'To obey is better than to sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams'.God never ever ask us do what is way beyond our abilities. No, not at all! Rather, all He wants us do is to simply 'Trust and Obey Him'. Jeremian 17:24 talks of the reward of obedience and vs. 27 deals with the reward of desobedience. We all got a choice to make-obey and be blessed or disobey and be cursed. God bless us all

Can any hide himself in secret places that I shall not see him? Do not I fill heaven and earth?
  • JoeMat on Jeremiah 17 - 8 years ago
When the Lord saved me I spent a lot of time in his word. And one thing I learned from the Lord is that he wants us to seek him out like a hidden treasure. If you truly Love the Lord you will find his secret that the whole world cannot. And that is the beginning of wisdom.

I believe Jeremiah Hilkiah wrote the book of Jeremiah. At least this is what we've been taught.
