“No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him.”
King James Version (KJV)
1:18 No man hath seen God - With bodily eyes: yet believers see him with the eye of faith. Who is in the bosom of the Father - The expression denotes the highest unity, and the most intimate knowledge.
Joh 1:18 No man hath seen God, with bodily eyes, but he was manifested as the Word, and at last the "only begotten Son . . . hath declared him". "He that hath seen me", said Christ, "hath seen the Father. The Father is in me, and I in him" (Joh 14:9 10:38).
