20:21 Peace be unto you - This is the foundation of the mission of a true Gospel minister, peace in his own soul, #2Cor 4:1|. As the Father hath sent me, so send I you - Christ was the apostle of the Father, #Heb 3:1|. Peter and the rest, the apostles of Christ.

Joh 20:21 Peace [be] unto you: as [my] Father hath sent me, even so send I you. This is the Great Commission, more fully developed in Galilee a little later (Mt 28:16-20), and finally completed on Mt. Olivet (Ac 1:4-9), just before the Lord ascended. The Lord had trained the apostles for three years in order to fit them for this important work.
