Gen. 1:1- "In the beginning God." Gen. 1:26a- "And God said, Let us make man in our image..." This is the Trinity- God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit. John 1:1 "In the beginning was the Word" The Bible tells us that in the beginning the Word existed. In ver. 14 it says the Word was made flesh, Jesus came in the form of man, and is the only begotten of the Father. John 3:16

Dear friend, the Word is Jesus. Capital 'W'. Because Jesus came down from heaven, to bear witness, and went up again. Jesus is God manifested in the flesh.
  • Sharon Budworth on John 1 - 7 years ago
Great story but who is the word? This has never been authenticated, I cannot comprehend that this is Jesus because he was not born until thousands of years later. It is very confusing.

2 Yes Christ was there with the father God and did create everything. Man being made in "our" image. And about the "Cross", this is also a creation of Rome. Search out the greek word for Cross and it clearly says "stake or pole"! Other places it says "tree"!

Millstone, Jeshua knew from the start. Many things about Cephas are showing a certain pattern. Yes Jeshua loved him, he loves man no matter what they have done. Paul has also gave indication of who Peter, Cephas or Simon really was.....

Praise the Lord, praise the Lord let the world hear his voice. Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, let his people rejoice.
  • Daniel on John 1 - 7 years ago
This wonderful book begins by unveiling the Person of Jesus Christ as being Almighty God. He is the God of Israel, and the Elohim, the Creator of heaven and the earth. He is the God of Israel, but Israel did not receive Him (as their Messiah). As many as received Him, he gives them a divine birth. I note this is 'not by bloods' speaking of the blood of offerings, (geneology is seed, i.e the cross

Again, when John says that Jesus (the Word) is God he is not speaking in vacuum. He knew from reading the Scriptures that the one he baptized was God. Isa. 12:2 reads, "See, God has come to save me! I will trust and not be afraid, for the Lord is my strength and song; he is my salvation. And guess what! That's what the name Jesus means, "the God who saves" or "God save me."
  • Ae on John 1 - 8 years ago
Everything was made by the word including universe, only human beings were created by God, that's why the word of God says "what is man that you are mindful of him"
  • Rev Autrey on John 1 - 8 years ago
When John says "In the beginning was the word. ... and the Word was God," he is talking about name recognition and not the dividing of God into three parts or three separate persons. Your name or name recognition is who you are or how you see yourself. That is to say, God sees himself as Jesus, and this is how he came to us that Christmas day to die for how sins.

I give thanks and glory to John who humbly give good accounts of the Messiah and not given credit to himself by saying I baptize you with water but he will do with the Holy Spirit.
  • Tracey Greene on John 1 - 8 years ago
I love that part where the word says: and all we have received of His fullness. Christ is full of grace and truth, and having received of His fullness is incredible, His Spirit lives on the inside of us giving us a truly wonderful power to overcome the things of the world. John makes it plain, to the point.

I am wondering why you don't capitalize the personal pronouns that refer to God in this text. Is there a reason for it? Thanks.

I think John came to inform us about Jesus Christ and what He meant to us and who He is.Looking at John 1vs 1 which states that in the beginning was the word and the word was with God and the word was God.Meaning to say that every word of God we speak it can be prophecy,or praying for those that are not well we will be speaking God in that individuals life.We will be bringing light in that persons life.Furthermore, if you look at John1:14 it tasks about the word becoming flesh.Which word? That word which was mentioned in the book of John 1:2 that the word was Godd. As we speak the word, we pray it becomes flesh in us it is not dead but alive and it is going to accomplish what I will be sending it fourth to do.Likensure when God saI'd let the light and there was light.Wooh this is powerfull. As as Christian we should exercase that authority which has been given unto us by speaking the word which is flesh and alive. I can go on and on.It was nicestablished sharinget with your.

  • Jude Howell on John 1 - 8 years ago
John, was the Apostle, that Jesus loved. He loved the others as well, but there was something special about John. In this Epistle, the difference in this Gospel and the other Gospels, are clear. Jesus has always been here. He was here during the beginning of the world. He has always been here, and will always be here, along with God the Father, and the Holy Spirit. Hallelujah!
