Your reply to S Spencer, Onward till the RETURN of our Master.
I BELIEVE if you are BORN AGAIN, the Master has already come (to you) the SECOND TIME.
Hebrews 9:28 So Christ (came the FIRST time in the flesh and) was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that LOOK (with spiritual eyes) for him shall he appear (as the Holy Spirit) the SECOND time (coming) without sin unto SALVATION.
You never see the thief, if you could see him he would not have spoiled your house.
Everyone one is LOOKING to see him with eyes of flesh.
That happens at his return to judge the world. Those seeing him; with eyes of flesh, will have missed the SECOND coming (being BORN OF THE SPIRIT).
The Born Again will be WITH HIM when he comes to judge the world.
Food for thought, the Spirit reveals.
I believe He is asking what does
( that was made ) mean.
John 1:3. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made "THAT WAS MADE."
God bless.
And God said, Let US MAKE man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
Genesis 2: 21-23
And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof;
And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, MADE he a woman, and brought her unto the man.
And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.
John 1:3. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made "THAT WAS MADE."
It means he created absolutely everything.
Colossians 1:16. For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:
God bless.
What is the part " that was made mean.
There is MORE TRUTH than asking God to help you choose to do what glorifies Him. The Spirit CAUSES you to ask.
You DIED on the cross with Christ, you were RAISED a new creation; IN CHRIST, at His Resurrection.
Jesus is now living his LIFE in you, CAUSING you to continue being created in HIS IMAGE.
Ezekiel 36:24 And I WILL take you from among the heathen, and gather you out of all the countries, and will bring you into your own land.
Ezekiel 36:25 Then WILL I sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye SHALL BE CLEAN: from all your filthiness, and from all your idols, WILL I cleanse you.
Ezekiel 36:26 A new heart also WILL I GIVE you, and a new spirit WILL I PUT within you: and I WILL TAKE AWAY the stony heart out of your flesh, and I WILL GIVE you and heart of flesh.
Ezekiel 36:27 And I WILL PUT my spirit WITHIN YOU, and CAUSE YOU to walk in my statues, and ye shall keep my judgements, AND DO THEM.
Philippians 2:13 For it is God that WORKETH IN YOU both to WILL and TO DO of his good pleasure.
Ephesians 1:5 ....according to the good pleasure of HIS WILL..
Ephesians 1:11 In whom we have obtained an inheritance (sons of God), being predestinated according to the PURPOSE OF HIM who WORKETH all things after the counsel of HIS WILL.
Philippians 1:29 For unto you it is GIVEN in the behalf of Christ, not only TO BELIEVE ON HIM, but also to suffer for him.
Of ourselves we can do NOTHING.
1 John 3:9 Whosoever is born of God doeth NOT COMMIT SIN (because Christ is doing EVERYTHING) (we SIN because we try to put OUR WORKS with this TRUTH); for his seed remaineth in him; and he cannot sin because he is born of God.
This is why Jesus never SINNED. He walked in the TRUTH that the Father did all things FOR HIM.
John 8:28 ...and that I do nothing of myself...
John 5:30 I can of myself do nothing ....
John 3:27 ...A man receive nothing, except it be GIVEN HIM from heaven.
Your question was if some people believe that. You probably already know the answer is yes. But maybe your real question is it a requirement to be baptized to enter heaven? If that is your question I have a response.
My main question is why wouldn't you want to be baptized? What's the real reason for wanting to disobey Jesus? If someone is looking to only do the bare minimum in order to "make it to heaven", one might wonder if that person is a real Christian. God wants all of us- to love the Lord with all our heart, all our mind, all our strength. If someone is mostly interested in following the world, but wants to just cut corners and do whatever they assume is the bare minimum, I personally would not feel much assurance of salvation. Jesus clearly said to be baptized, so if someone disregards Jesus's words, it seems like slapping him in his face, as that person thinks they know better than Jesus.
Here's the verse where Jesus says to be baptized: Mark 16:16
Acts 2:38 clearly says to be baptized also. If it wasn't important, they wouldn't have said to do it, but they did say to do it. So, aside from a physical disability, if someone doesn't want to do it for whatever reason, is following Jesus very important to them? It reveals someone's priorities. Matthew 6:21 - All will be judged fairly and I think some will be surprised on judgment day: Matthew 10:33. God bless...
Receive the Holy Spirit.
There's a link on the red page that says: Become A Christian, that is useful to understand the whole process
Romans 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. This means that you Believe and confess that you believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and that Jesus died on the cross, shed his own blood for the forgiveness of our sins, always and forever.
While hanging on the cross, Jesus said "It it finished". He was saying this has been done for you. so that you may have eternal life with the Father, Son and Holy Spirit in Heaven. Water doesnt save, but Jesus blood has and did.
thanks and God bless.
Please be a little more specific.
If only God can open and close doors,
after you walk through the threshold how are YOU going to close it?
Please elaborate a little more.
Thanks.
The question I propose is this. When you are given an open door and you go through, after you cross the threshold is it your responsibility to close that door behind you?
JESUS IS ALIVE
REJOICE ALWAYS
Good day.
AND OF HIS FULNESS HAVE ALL WE RECEIVED, GRACE
FOR GRACE. John 1:16 KJV
May I propose according to King James Version, which is one of the original, oldest, most widely used version of the bible, that 'grace FOR grace' is meaning GOD imparting His grace for us to have the grace to witness Christ and offer the plan of salvation we have learned, that we through GOD's grace give others the grace to be saved. Thank you. Mrs. Welz
Everytime they learn a new evil, that light gets a little dimmer. By the time they become accountable for sin, there may be little or no light left. At this point, the person isn't "coming into the world", he (or she) is already IN the world.
This is why we must become as humble as a little child and be born again -- to fill us with light again by the receiving of the Holy Ghost which is the Spirit of Christ without whom we "are none of his." Again, at this point we aren't "coming into the world". We are IN the world but leaving it and "coming into" the kingdom of God.
A lot of people are still in Romans chapter 1, trying to figure out Who made ALL this? If people made it, it would be on sale at Walmart.
PRIDE prevents us from bowing the knee, to Worship The Creator. Pride being the most toxic of the 7 deadly sins. We are endowed by the Creator with creativity within us. Many great minds have tried to explain John 1:1 through the lens of human perception. Everything CANNOT be explained through the lens of LOGIC. Logic is the polar opposite of FAITH. I often wonder what Steven Hawking thought when he was crossing the veil of Death?
God (the Godhead) exists outside the ticking of Time. When He created Time, he said, "IN BEGINNING." If our human brains reject that statement, our FAITH is ship wrecked. Worse yet, we try to find weak-faithed people to follow us, instead of God.
The Bible has to be read through the lens of Faith. Everyone is born with enough faith to see from creation; that SOMEONE made all this. The human body is so complex, that even scientists and doctors admit they cannot make a human from scratch. Frankenstein is a Hollywood movie.
Like Genesis 1:1, in the book of John, God restates, "IN THE BEGINNING". If we reject that statement again...we are a ship in a storm without a rudder. It will crash or sink.
Before The Son of God was born human through Mary; His name was The Word. Before conception He was in Heaven. He was speaking our world into existence. He was on earth, showing people what the Father was like, 33 years. People saw God wrapped in human flesh. Jesus didn't hide anything. He hung on the Cross for people. He didn't have to do it. He did it because, GOD SO LOVED THE WORLD. He did it so that on Pentecost, the Holy Spirit could come into the World and continue Jesus's Ministry to those who would Believe: with signs following.
In Google,
Enter your verse of scripture and after it,
Type one of these: commentary or, teaching or, history or, meaning.
I generally read something from the first 5 listings. The further you go down the list, they can get a little bent.
You can Google a word; and type Hebrew meaning, Greek meaning.
Or, you can ask for an explanation in the version of Bible too.
I found one on Ecclesiastes that was so awesome to study.
ALSO, this website has a Commentary that you access by entering your scripture in the Search Box. Touch the verse and it will highlight yellow. Scroll down a little. Choose Commentary.
Maybe Chris has some tips?
The King James is correct. John says the word was God, not a God.
Interesting that some people take these phrases and try to make something out of it that actually twists it away from its original intent. It says "the word was God."
Some groups will say because the word God in the Greek text does not have the definite article, they say "and the word was a God," not God Himself, but a God, indefinite article. There is only one problem. In Greek there is no indefinite article!
Now in the Greek language when you have a noun, let's say God, if you put a definite article with it, "the" God, it is speaking about a definite person, a specific person, the God.
When you leave the definite article off, you are designating quality and nature, God in nature or in quality. And so what John is saying here is "and the Word was God in nature and quality." Not "a God." There is no such thing in the Greek language.
