In this Chapter Our lord and Master Jesus proclaims his office, as our shepherd . One who watches over and guides, leads and saves from the wolf, who is the Devil. Many have claimed to be shepherd but they all were only thieves and robbers, pretending to care to win self glorification. Jesus alone laid down his life on earth for his sheep in order to demonstrate what what the true life was, in heaven, eternally alive at the right hand of God. Not God himself but at the right hand of God, but so identified with God that they were as One. He being full of the Holy Ghost was sent by God for our salvation from the wickedness of the Devil who threatens to take souls away from the Father. But the Father is stronger than all and if we are the sheep that hears and honors the shepherd we are not jeopardized by the wolf. We follow the shepherd down the narrow or straight path to the door of eternal life.
In response to ApostlicTeen's John Chapter 10 comment:-
Jesus is the son of God, if you have read your Bible you will know that he gave his only son to cleanse us of our sins, alas, we are all sinners. They are certainly not one person and this obviously needs clarifying.
Fools, you are suppose to live my sight. Jesus gave sight to the blind. He said that those who say that they can see will be made blind, those who are blind will see.
@Gahambo: It is a thing many Christians worry about as they do not know what it really means. Read Psalm 82:6 and Ephesians 5:1. Simply it does not mean "ye are God" instead it means "ye are gods".
I know that Christ is God and I believe any reference that quotes about Christ being God is my belief. But, I never encountered and, in fact, did not take a closer look at the text which credits sinful men as "God." Do you have any idea about the implication of John 10:34?
John 10:30 "I and my Father are one" I don't understand what people don't get, because it says Jesus(as being I) and God(as being my Father) are one! So, that tells us that it's ONE person! Jesus and God ARE the SAME! There is NOT 3 or 2! It's ONE!
Jesus's hour is under the authority of commandment . It is by commandment from his father that gives him the power to lay down his life - when ? - the passover . Who would lead you to break commandment ?
I believe that ( Go in and out of pasture) refers to having faith in a dimension spiritually, having paid the price as we go from faith to faith, glory to glory, to put on immortality. The Word says " Death where's your sting, graveyard where's your victory. The dead in Christ shall rise first, and those who are here after on earth will caught up with Jesus Christ and will be as he is, which is now His glorfied body. You can get to a place in the Spirit, and be able to go in and out of pasture, meaning translation as an overcomer.
That I/we were born in sin and save by Christ Jesus and given his mercy/grace fresh daily to live life abundantly after acceptance of Jesus as our Lord and Saviour to begin to walk in faith not by sight and thank god for being set free from the carnal world.
