I do not like to use the word Christian today,If someone asks I will tell them I follow that WAY.This
is what we were called first. In that WAY you lose yourself completely Mike Golden inner man is dead and Jesus The Father son lives in you.
  • Byron on John 14 - 13 years ago
We need God Spirit within us the HOLY GHOST with the evidence of speaking in tounges.

But when the COMFORTER is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, [even] the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me:( John 15:26)

And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father.( Gal. 4:6)

Wherefore I give you to understand, that no man speaking by the SPIRIT of God calleth Jesus accursed: and [that] no man can say that Jesus is the Lord, but by the Holy Ghost.( 1Cor. 12:3)

But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.(Rom.8:9)For he that speaketh in an [unknown] tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth [him]; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries. (1Cor.14:2)

  • Mary on John 14 - 13 years ago
To know Jesus is to love him,for he is love.He is the only way to the father. We must love him with all of our being and keep his commendments. We will be with the Lord in paradise. HE PROMISED.
  • Jayv Pilai on John 14:21 - 13 years ago
This like many other sayings of Jesus, touches on the main if not the CORE teaching of Jesus. The key words are HATH my COMMANDMENTS and KEEPETH them. Unlike the indoctrination by the Church that "our sins are all nailed onto the cross"; Jesus clearly stated that we MUST DO HIS COMMANDMENTS. It is only if we DO HIS COMMANDMENTS, we will be LOVED by Him and God. It is only then He will MANIFEST Himself. The most difficult of His Commandments is in Matthew 5.44 where He tells us to LOVE OUR ENEMY. Can any reader who reads this, love his/her enemy? I for sure find it difficult. This saying of Jesus is therefore of utmost importance as many other similar teachings. Look at this:

"Why call me lord, lord and not
do the things I tell you to do."

"Not everyone who calls me lord,
lord shall enter into the kingdom
    of heaven."

What is being practiced therefore is NOT JESUS' TRUE MESSAGE, but CHRISTIANITY MADE EASY which very much benefits the EVANGELICAL MOVEMENT and to some extent the material help to those who convert or say that they have accepted Him. I like to heat from everyone who cates to disagree.

  • Patrick on John 14 - 13 years ago
This is truly the word of God,verse 1,let not you heart be troubled:ye believe in God,also believe in Me.
It truly states, that many of us sits with worries, what people say about us,what we hear and our problems, but hear what God say's(the bible is alive)that we must believe in Him,we must not let our heart be troubled, cause in verse 6,He clearly say's,that I am the way,the truth and the life;no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.Verse 14 he promise,if we ask anything in His name,He will do it.
Trust in the Lord always, cause his love endures forever.AMEN
  • John Mumba Jonale on John 14 - 13 years ago
There is real promise God will come again to take us home to be with Him forever and suffering will be no more. He came to die for us in order to have life and His death is not in vain
  • Lemoe l penu on John 14:24 - 13 years ago
this is the key to converting to God..one must love Him enough to obey...the finish work at the cross is enough evidence that God loves the world...THE CROSS SAID IT ALL...WE must have love, without love for Christ we can not keep his commandments...to God the praise and glory now and forever more, Amen
  • StephendeRafael on John 14 - 13 years ago
In this chapter, Jesus defines clearly his role, that he speaks only what God the Father spoke to him in the ear. God will reward those who both have and do his commandments. Jesus says the same in that those who do these sayings of his will inherit. That is when we understand completely what is said thru study and purposefully do his will in everyday life, those then will live eternally in the heavenly mansions. There will be no miraculous second coming al la Harold Camping but only a strict adherence to the word of God will transform these bodies full of iniquities to Pure bloodwashed Angels in heaven who will worship the Father in truth as He desires from us.
  • Kim on John 14:6 - 13 years ago
This is one of my favorite verses in the Bible. This is what it all comes down to. This verse strikes right at the heart of all other religions and proves them to be false.
  • Bob mintz on John 14 - 13 years ago
ilove this book it great .
  • David O. on John 14 - 13 years ago
John 14 is the greatest promise of Jesus Christ of Nazareth to His followers. They would stay with Him in their heavenly mansions for all eternity without end. Only one thing can give any one entry into heaven. Jesus said, "I am the Way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me." verse 6. There aren't many ways into heaven, there aren't many other saviors. The Bible says there's only one. Christ alone, through His death and resurrection, paid the price for our sins. And only through Him can we gain entry into the presence of the Father. Have you put your trust in Jesus? So, when Jesus comes again He will take you to be with Him evermore.
  • Tina Hall on John 14:1 - 13 years ago
I think we all should trust in the Lord more, and not worry so much about what others do or say.
We have no control over that. Jesus wants us to trust in him, and he will see us thru no matter
what circumstance we are in. He wants us to
rejoice in him, and know that he has prepared a
place for us to go to in Heaven to be with him
as a beliver when we die, or we are caught up
in the rapture. We should trust him more.
We should never give up, even though the enemy, Satan, tries to destroy us everyway he can.
  • Opal on John 14 - 13 years ago
ydnick...im a baby in christ im going to explain it to you the way the spirit tells me...he that have seen me have seen the father...god the father needed someone without sin to bear all sins for mankind no one on earth was worthy enough so he been so great came into the world in the flesh as god the son witout sin he did not sin once growing up as a human being. knowing the pain he would feel on the cross as god the son he went to the garden to pray to god the father to let this cup pass from him even though he know why he came in the 1st place and that wasnt the only time he prayed to god the father he was setting an example for us to follow...you ask how can god be in heaven and on erath at the same time..im asking you how great is god? who made the heavens and the earth? right now he's with me do you think he's with you? if yes how did he do that cause he walks with me and talks to me each and every single day and im sure im not the only one that he has bless when does he get time to bless other people if he's with me day in and day out....that is to show you he can do things that looks impossible to us but with him all things are possible..be bless
  • Ydnic on John 14:28 - 13 years ago
how could god be on the earth and in heaven at the same time? who was Jesus praying to in the garden of gethsemane before the died? the verse is matthew 26:39. he said in that verse not my will but your will? who was he talking to himself? you need to learn grammer. Jesus did not pray to himself to ask for help. he prayed to god for help. he if he was god he never would have had to pray for help.why in john 14:28 did Jesus say the father is greater than i am if he is God? That would be like me saying my father is greater than i am but i am my father. who were the christians praying to if God was a man on earth. who were the christians worshiping in heaven if Jesus was on the earth? why would Jesus say to Worship God instead of saying worship me because I am god. get your grammer on.

  • Ben weaver on John 14:3 - 14 years ago
V.3. "Where I am"! (present tense?) Was Jesus in the (4th dimension) realm of heaven, while he was walking and talking with humanity? There are many indications that He was. He was about to leave his disciples to prepare a place "mansions", rather (Abodes or dwelling places) so that his body (the church) could dwell where He was dwelling in the spirit while He spoke. That being now done (Christ in you the hope of glory Col. 1:27) we are now seated (With authority) in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus.( Eph. 2:6). Let us actively clothe ourselves with his provisions so that Jesus will recieve the reward of his sufferings and that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
  • Ben weaver on John 14 - 14 years ago
V.6. Jesus said,"I am the way, the truth, and the Life. The Bible way for us to enter this way is by believing in Him. This believing is obviously more than just mental assent to a historical fact, but rather trusting/relying on the promises relating to Jesus. Jesus was a Jew and the beginning of his Church were all Jews, and yes, there are many believing Messianic Jews today. Sad to say, a religiously defensive segment of the Jewish system still has not yet been able see Him (see 2 Cor.3:13-14). Lets pray for them.
  • Jeff on John 14 - 14 years ago
@Ben weaver thanks 4 the reply. Starting to make sense of it now.
But I’m still a bit iffy on people going to heaven simply because of believing in Jesus.
As there are some Jews who do believe in him too. So just to make sure you think they would go to heaven too?
  • Ben weaver on John 14 - 14 years ago
V.6-reply to Jeff. Thanks for asking, and my apology for being so brief. Maybe, "disassociated" was not the best word. Romans 5:12-19 explains it well with "sin", "death", and "condemnation" which passed from Adam to all mankind. About our bodies being the temple of the Holy Spirit; I think refers to only people who have Jesus, since 1 Corinthians is written to such (please see Chapter 1:2). Why! descending through the father and not the mother? I don't know, but the Bible uses men's names in geneologies and even today, most people inherit the father's last name. Could it be that the egg has no life till it is fertilized by a male? The Bible says Eve is the mother of all living and she disobeyed God first, but Adam is blamed for passing the sin curse on to all men. And Yes! this new life in Jesus is for whoever believes in Him ( Jn. 3:16) regardless of background heritage. There are many reasons why a believer should go public. It honors Jesus, it releases God to work in our lives, and opens the door for others to receive that new life too.
  • Jeff on John 14 - 14 years ago
@Ben weaver, how did we dissociate ourselves from god?
And why would we need a new connection by a human being who is conceived by God's Spirit?
Are we not conceived by the holy spirit? E.g Corinthians 6:19 “know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost”
Your other comment “rather than a human father that is not associated with God” does that mean a father inputs more to the offspring than a mother (who holds the child for 8-9 months)?
Also would you clarify your last statement “Therefore, no one but Jesus qualifies and no religion can attain to that life without Jesus” I will presume that “attain to that life” means heaven; but does that mean Mormons, Muslims and etc. will be able to enter heaven because they believe in Jesus?
  • Ben weaver on John 14:6 - 14 years ago
    V. 6. A few thoughts on the logic of such a radical statement. Hundreds of prophetic predictions, over thousands of years have been satisfied by only one person. Also, it is obvious that all humanity (including Christians) has inadequacies. According to the most trusted book, this is because Adam and Eve disassociated themselves, and thus all their descendants, from God. Now, humanity needs a new connection by a human being who is conceived by God's Spirit, rather than a human father that is not asociated with God. God's way with the Virgin Mary is the only way I can think of that a human could possibly be the WAY, the TRUTH (reliable plan) and LIFE source for believing humanity. Therefore, no one but Jesus qualifies and no religion can attain to that life without Jesus.
  • Gina Moore-Herring on John 14:6 - 14 years ago
Jesus is saying there are only to roads available to us; the road to destruction and the road to heaven. Following Jesus is the way to heaven. He speaks the truth as opposed the devil who is deceptive. Jesus is life and gives life, not just here on earth but life after. No man comes to the father but by men means if you cannot accept Jesus for who he is you cannot receive God. You MUST go through Jesus to get to God!

This have to be my favorite book in the Bible. I love John 14:27 - "Peace I leave with you,my peace I leave unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled; neither let it be afraid". WOW!!!!

There is so many promises in this Book. Jesus has already prepared a place for us. He done went ahead of us to get it ready. He is actually offering us peace. Not as the world give it to us...but HIS peace. And we all know the world can't give us peace like Jesus can.

He letting us know that He will be leaving us, but The Father will send us another Comforter that He will be with us forever...WOW! We are never alone.

In His Father's house is many mansions, He is going to prepare a place for US. WOW! He is letting us know that this place here one earth is only temporialy (misspelled)...He have a better place waiting for us. If we only believe in Him and His Father.

I love this Book. I could go on and on and on. There is so many promises in the whole Bible. But this is one of my favorite Books.

This verse and Mathew Henrey's comentary really is a great gift to me. It defines the individual's relationship to Christ, on earth and eternity. This relationship is personified in the believer and full of the fullest grace that we can accept and trust because he prepares us so we put away any remenants of sadness of our past and go forth living in confidence and enthusiasm.

Only GOD can do that kind of statement that's is why John 7:46
The officers answered, Never man spake like this man
  • Buckle on John 14 - 14 years ago
As Jesus says in this chapter, the Father and I are one, so who better to intercede for us than Jesus himself. When he claims to be "THE way, THE truth, THE life, no one cometh to the Father, but by me", that is an exclusive statement. Meaning that everyone else in history claiming to be A way, or AN intercessor, or having the truth, is excluded and are either lying or deluded. Only a perfect man can present us to a perfect God. Contrary to Catholic religious beliefs, the Pope is not perfect, and is a seed and a descendant of Adam...just like the rest of us. Only those who believe that Jesus was,is, and always will be their only Saviour, that he died, shedding his blood on the cross for us, was buried, and rose again (regardless of denomination) will spend eternity with God in heaven. His last words were "It is finished". Our salvation is whole and complete IN HIM, and HIM only. No other human can, regardless of claims, add to His perfect work. Not Mary, not a pope, not a priest, and certainly not you or I by our own works. Amen!
