  • A disciple on John 3 - 7 years ago
David; you said,"If we say we are saved and then keep sinning, we Never were saved." In one sense, yes; but in another we will need the Lord's mercy and one another's as long as we are here; and we will need grace also when we have to forgive and bear with others; and this will take time and practice! Yes we ARE new creatures in Christ; old things ARE passed away, and ALL THINGS HAVE BECOME NEW.
  • A disciple on John 3 - 7 years ago
David; of course I agree! I know in my heart and am fully convinced that Jesus' blood cleanses from all sin when we confess them and repent. I also know that the Lord Jesus laid down His life and died for us, and we cost Him dearly: and He doesn't so easily give up on stupid and weak believers, nor on them that may have fallen prey to wicked things in corrupted leadership. Jesus' grace is greater!
  • A disciple on John 3 - 7 years ago
David; I'm sorry, but I think you completely misunderstood me! I was actually agreeing with you and trying to support.
  • David Davies on John 3 - 7 years ago
Mr disciple: V16, When we repent from our sins and put our faith and trust in Christ, He will forgive us and we have a new life. If we say we are saved and then keep sinning, we Never were saved. We have to truly repent from our sins, forsake them and then He will save us. I'm hopeing you agree?
  • David Davies on John 3 - 7 years ago
Mr disciple: I think you misunderstood my comment, I totally believe that God forgives ALL SINS and that He will never remember them again. If I didn't believe that I wouldn't be Born again. John 3v16 " should not perish". if we believe in Him. I BELIEVE IN HIM. Are you saying that you've have never done anything wrong since you were Born Again? Christ died so that All sins can be forgiven.
  • A disciple on John 3 - 7 years ago
Mr. Kelly; you cannot expect the Lord to have mercy on you when you don't believe in mercy toward your fellow-servants. You have not walked without fault since the day you were saved; yet you beat your brethren over the head with the Word of God as if you had; and see no possible way for it to be otherwise. Humility is always honest, and is the better part of valor. Love is kind and considerate.
  • A disciple on John 3 - 7 years ago
David; God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son; THAT whoever believes in Him SHOULD NOT perish, but have everlasting life. Christ came into the world to SAVE sinners; of whom I am chief. Not for us to continue in sins, of course! but that through repentance there SHOULD BE the remission of sins; and a conversion from idols to God, and darkness to light; EMPOWERED BY THE SPIRIT!
  • A disciple on John 3 - 7 years ago
Mr. Kelly; the devil is no man's friend! and he is no ones advocate! the devil doesn't go before God to argue the case of sinners against Him. How ridiculous! I've never heard such baloney! You sound like the Pharisees who were always looking to catch the Lord at something He said or did; and were scandalized by His kindness and respect for the common man; and scrutinize and condemn the guiltless.
  • A disciple on John 3 - 7 years ago
Mr. Kelly; YOU ARE OFF! Mercy rejoices against judgment! But you have no mercy! You stand straight up with clenched fists to God's Word and say, NO! No Advocate for anyone who loves the Lord and falls! No Mercy! Only the righteous shall be saved! (blah blah blah) Jesus came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance: they that "THINK" they're whole have no need of the SAVIOUR Physician.
  • David Davies on John 3 - 7 years ago
Mr Kelly: No man can be saved unless he 100% willingly turns repents from his sins. No one can be saved if they willingly hold onto their sins. We can only be saved once we relies that we are vile, helpless and guilty sinners, and then the Lord Jesus will save.
  • David Davies on John 3 - 7 years ago
I think you miss understood me Mr Norlan I totally believe and am thankful to the Lord that He forgives sin past and future, what I was saying was that when we are saved, SADLY we do sin NOT because we want to or do it on purpose. And it makes God VERY SAD when the ones He's forgiving do sin. Like Peter in the New Testament, he sinned in denying Christ but he was still saved and God forgave him.
  • Evangelist Andrew Kelly on John 3 - 7 years ago
Norlan: Again out of context with Romans 7. Paul is telling us who he was and not who he is. Paul uses the law of divorce and remarriage to show you have to be dead to one in order to be married to another. Paul is telling us when he was under sin sin had rule over him Genesis 4:7. Now he rules over sin Romans 8:1 he is pulling you out of Romans 7.
  • Evangelist Andrew Kelly on John 3 - 7 years ago
Disciple: No sinner as the advocate we the children who are born again has the advocate. When I was a sinner the devil was my advocate. Put it in context 1st John 2. "If any man sin" Man being the outsider NOT "If any children sin" we ((the born agains)) have the advocate Jesus Christ the righteous. What is that advocate? By telling man in 1st John 1:9 to confess their sin give up their sin.
  • A disciple on John 3 - 7 years ago
But Mr. Kelly; the same John wrote just a few verses away from where you're referring; These things I write to you that you not sin; but if anyone sin, we have an Advocate with the Father...There is a sin not unto death, and there is a sin unto death; and the Lord has authorized whom He has anointed to discern and judge and pronounce in His name: to loose or bind, to remit or retain peoples sins.
  • A disciple on John 3 - 7 years ago
"If your brother trespass against you seven times in a day, and seven times in a day say to you, I repent; you shall forgive him..Seventy times seven!" There is righteousness; in the repentance, and in the mercy of the other to release him. Sinners can't prevent righteousness by sinning; but oppose, contradict, fight against, etc. When we bear up cheerfully under wrongs done, its righteousness.
  • Norlan on John 3 - 7 years ago
the bible plainly says, all sin and fall short of the glory of god. when you accepted Christ as your lord and savior he instantly forgave all of your sins BOTH PAST AND FUTURE. nowhere in the new testament does it say you have do anything other than believe in Jesus. this is no ticket to sin because we all no what is right and wrong. read Romans chapter 7 v15 to the end of the chapter
  • Brian J Antoine on John 3 - 7 years ago
    David Davies. What is repentance?
  • David Davies on John 3 - 7 years ago
Kelly, disciple: In John 3v16 it says "God so loved the world" the world would include Everyone as we All live in it so He loves us All. We are all sinners and the Lord wants to save us. I repented from my sins confessed and put my faith in Christ, Christ died for All and I look forward to metting you both in Heaven.
  • A disciple on John 3 - 7 years ago
Brother David; The Lord knows us altogether, and He knows our strengths and weaknesses and all our goings out and comings in; and has already made a way for us to walk in solid victory and not stumble. In the Sermon on the mount the Lord first speaks of the kind of character that we are to have; and through each topic describes precisely how to walk and to please God. 2 Peter 1 (e.g.) also tells.
  • Evangelist Andrew Kelly on John 3 - 7 years ago
David: no such scripture as God hates the sin and not the sinner. Sinners are around to produce sin. When there are no sinners around there is righteousness. God destroyed both the sin and the sinner in Noah's flood. Without Jesus Christ the Son of God and his words in you man only has a mirage for a God.
  • Evangelist Andrew Kelly on John 3 - 7 years ago
David: That love is 100% conditional love the words ((if)) and ((whosoever)) conditionals as Jesus never preached he loves everybody. He wants to love everybody, but everybody don't want to love him that is the difference. John 14:23] Jesus answered and said unto him, ((If)) a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.
  • David Davies on John 3 - 7 years ago
KELLY: I know that I am Born Again because I confessed my sins, repented and put my Faith in Christ.
Are you saying that since you were Born Again you've never sinned? never done or thought anything you shouldn't of. God hates sin and He's VERY SAD when the ones He's forgiven do sin. He will always be with us, even when we fail Him. The one's that have never repented will perish in Hell.
  • David Davies on John 3 - 7 years ago
Continued: and we will be with Him in Heaven. It's the lost that will perish in Hell Forever. 1 John 1v10 says "If we say that we have not sinned we make Him a liar". The Lord will forgive All those who repent, and it's the forgiven ones who will be in Heaven when the Lord returns.
  • David Davies on John 3 - 7 years ago
Andrew: Romans 3v23 says "For All Have Sinned" we are All sinners. John 3v16 " For God so loved the world" He loves All, The Lord Jesus came to earth the first time to die and He will come again to take the forgiven ones Home to Heaven. I too am saved by God's Amazing Grace and my sins are forgiving, but SADLY the forgiven ones do sin sometimes but He forgives us.
  • Tanua on John 3 - 7 years ago
    Acts 2:38

Believing only is not all we must do. Read John 3 about Nicodemus!
How can Christians be so blind? Many are. It going to make it because they only believe in parts.

Believing is only the first step!
  • Evangelist Andrew Kelly on John 3 - 7 years ago
David: if we are all sinners then Jesus is coming back for nobody then. My bible says in 1st John 3:8 "he that commith sin is of the devil.." Jesus told people in John 5:19 "Sin no more." Jesus came and died so we can be free and clear from all sin. I am an ex-sinner saved by grace Romans 6:18. My bible in John 9:31 tells me God don't hear the prayer of sinners. All sinners will burn Rev 21:8.
  • David Davies on John 3 - 7 years ago
Whatever sins we have committed and we have all committed sins because we are ALL sinners. God wants to save All those who come to Him through faith and repentance. Whatever sins we have done, and whatever sins the people of this world have done, God sees us ALL as sinners and that we ALL need to be saved. Whatever we have done and whatever our past was like, God wants to save us.
  • David Davies on John 3 - 7 years ago
I certainly wouldn't want God to change, He always was and always will be the same Loving, Forgiving, Trustworthy God. I Love Him cause He first Loved me. God wants All to repent and All sinners who don't repent, God will send them to Hell and the Lake of Fire for rejecting Him. God HASN'T chosen some people to be saved then forgets the rest. He wants All people to be saved. Cause He Loves ALL.
  • A disciple on John 3 - 7 years ago
TRUE, TRUE, TRUE! But of those who will not ever repent and believe; those who are in their innermost selves determined to be son's of the devil; those who trample upon the conscience till no word of God can penetrate; those who will not prepare themselves to receive the word in a good and right heart; those who foolishly WON'T DO all that Jesus commands; God cannot change His own nature for them!
  • David Davies on John 3 - 7 years ago
V16. When it says "God so loved the world" means He loves ALL. He went to the cross and died for ALL, his friends and enemies. God hates sin But loves the sinner, us. God lookes in our hearts and is sad at the sins we do, But He still loves us. The Lord wants ALL to repent and ALL unrepented sinners will go to Hell.
