    this verse is so surreal for the world today im glad that I made a decision to want to get to know the lord for myself and my ablility to want to live for him like is is doing for us the world
  • Pastor John Kojo Nulgoze on John 3:16 - 11 years ago
    only Jesus can atone for our sins. He is the Lamb of God that takes away the sins of the world. God made Him who knew no sin to become sin so that we might become His righteousness. Believe in Jesus to be saved., to be holy, and to be righteous

    On John 3:16 _ It is clear that the love of God is for the whole world, everybody, not only for Christians. God is waiting for all to come to Him in faith through his son, Lord Jesus, to fully experience this wonderful love. If we think back, we will understand that even before we decided to follow Christ, we have been experiencing divine love in various ways: protection, provision, good health, spectacular deliverance from evil, etc. I believe it is for the good of Humanity to believe and be saved, then we will begin to live the life that God really wants us to enjoy. We shall have testimonies to tell of God's mercy, love and leading.

    When a government official places a CONDEMNED sign on a building it means that the building is not fit for human habitation and is to be torn down. However, God is "not willing that any should perish..." - His desire is that we be saved and that our
    body (building) become a "new creation" (restored) and that
    we become a "temple of the Holy Spirit"...therefore, the Apostle Paul may declare "There is now therefore no Condemnation for
    those who are in Christ Jesus..."
  • Stephenderafael on John 3:5 - 11 years ago
    I believe people misunderstand this verse, enough that a sect was established with it's own morality and political persuasion. Flesh is flesh and spirit is spirit. Without the flesh there is no Salvation. How can you show God your Heart and desire for Him, or can you perform righteous deeds from the grave. Water is a symbol of nourishment in the Bible from The river through Eden, the water in the rock, the wells of Jacob, the waterpots of wine. The flesh is born and nourished from the womb of a Woman. Jesus himself was born of woman but he lived be the Holy Spirit, the spirit of God. One who is devoid of the spirit is lifeless though his heart keeps him alive biologically. To be born of the spirit is to discriminate between the human heart and the holy spirit, our free will and the will of the Father. Rightly divide, understand that Jesus demonstrated that the life of the body and the holy spirit are distinct. The ritual baptism is nothing. Baptism is a real change and not a ceremony. Jesus was full before he was baptized which is why John said that he should be baptized of Jesus. Flesh profits nothing. It flowers and is destroyed entirely. The resurrection, the life is from God, the holy spirit, and his son who lived it on earth.

    John3:36 and believe.Lots of people put A LOT of EMPHASIS on the word believe, as though their belief was the absolute in obtaining salvation. The problem is they pay no attention to the information Jesus gave ole Nic in John 3:5. In fact they seem to totally ignore it and place ALL their value on John 3:16 and John 3:36.Amazing.!!!

    @Moby Here are the ones who were baptized by John the Baptist;
    Matthew 3:5 Then went out to him Jerusalem, and all Judaea, and all the region round about Jordan,
    6 And were baptized of him in Jordan, confessing their sins.
    Matthew 3:13 Then cometh Jesus from Galilee to Jordan unto John, to be baptized of him14 But John forbad him, saying, I have need to be baptized of thee, and comest thou to me?
    15 And Jesus answering said unto him, Suffer it to be so now: for thus it becometh us to fulfil all righteousness. Then he suffered him.
    16 And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon hi

    "Who exactly came and was baptized?"
    This verse sits amidst reference to Jesus and his disciples, and they are intercommunicating (sendiing messages re their whereabouts).
    Did John the Baptist baptize Jesus ("who came")?
  • Win on John 3:13 - 11 years ago
    This might be related to Ephesians 2:6 whereby we are "seated in the heavenly realm". Perhaps the indwelling of the Holy Spirit allows us to be "in heaven" in a sense when we walk in the Spirit. Well I hope this for all of us, myself certainly included! Wesley's interpretation is very good and I like all the comments above.

    this makes the reade to really believe that the supreme being needs to have a son in the litral meaning it brings into quetion what god is I feel the supreme force that we term gode is Too big for us a part of his creation to comprehend BUT we were made only to worship him and only him, one needs to mahke a deep studfy of the Gospils as we have it today and how it came about some 400 years after christ YF.

    if you are not baptized in jesus name and filled with the gift of the holy ghost not sprinkled but submerged and not baptized in the father ,the sun and the holy ghost but in jesus name
  • Kelly Baker on John 3:3 - 11 years ago
    It speaks for itself. I have nothing to worry about, I'm in a Bible teaching church, Riverview Baptist Church, where I am an active member.
  • Doug on John 3 - 11 years ago

    GOD is the only once that loves his son to this point, earthly father cannot do this.
  • Marus on John 3:16 - 11 years ago
    God is the one who begets not is he begotten, and there is none like him.
  • DANIEL on John 3:8 - 11 years ago
    The holy ghost where it wishes can make you hear the sound, voice; the Greek word is phone. Meaning voice, tongues; so it is with everyone born of the spirit. See Acts chapters 2, 10, and 19; Mark 16. It’s easy; no tongues no holy ghost; then you’re none of his.
  • Larry richards on John 3:8 - 11 years ago
    There is but one reason that we hear the wind blow but know not where it goes. Wind (air in motion) is INVISIBLE. And so, He says, those who are born again are invisible. After, yes after, one is born of the spirit of God, he sees and enters into the kingdom of God, in a form which is invisible to (then) Nicodemus and we on earth now. Little wonder that Nicodemus responded: "How can these things be?" Even now, this can be hard for one to understand.
  • Larry richards on John 3:2 - 11 years ago
    On this night, following a full day in which a large number of people watched Jesus perform many miracles, I wonder where everybody else was? Perhaps having dinner, or a nap, or on a date, or at a party. At any rate, too busy to visit Jesus. All but this one very good man who wanted to learn more from Him. Far from showing scorn, our loving saviour responded by teaching him how we see and enter into the kingdom of God.
  • Austyn on John 3 - 11 years ago
    John 3:16 is the salvation story summed up in one simple sentence. Christ died for our sins so that we would have eternal life through Him, the Son of God!
  • Walter on John 3:16 - 11 years ago
    John 3:16 tells the whole story of why God sent His Son to the world. Just so that those who accept Him as their Lord and Savior will be able to spend eternity with Him. The word should let us know that we have to confess and repent from our sins, and then we shall have eternal life. Thank God, our Father for Jesus!
  • Thomas D. on John 3 - 11 years ago
    @Tom Allen,
    If it weren't to the individual to be born again, how is one to get into heaven? Flesh and blood surely will not, then Acts 2:38, 4:12, Colossians 3:17 and others in Acts are null and void and the Bible not true. Many would like to just use Romans as a means of salvation but that won't work; it’s a beginning..Faith without WORKS is DEAD!!!
  • SILVIO on John 3 - 11 years ago
    Jesus said you must be born again to be saved. That’s accessible to anyone.
  • Adelta on John 3 - 11 years ago
    This chapter tells us we must give our lives to Christ who came on earth, died for our sins, for he said come unto me and I will give you rest, for if we abide in him, He will abide in us, for when the storms come he will cover us. For Sodom and Gomorrah were destroyed for the sin of man and man, and woman and woman which is not of God. We are seeing so many devastation in the United States of America, because of this sin. We need to pray for this great nation to come under God’s care and protection.
  • Tim Smith on John 3:7 - 11 years ago
    This conversation was not to a nation, but to each individual, as Nicodemus replied should a man enter again into his mother's womb. Jesus stated if a man not a nation or a group but individual is not born of water and spirit he shall not see the kingdom of God.
  • Jay on John 3 - 11 years ago
    @Insight 777,
    1. Man’s insight is no insight when it comes to God's holy word ( Matthew 22:29);
    2. Jesus is the son of man and this title is used by the Jews only;
    3. The scriptures make reference to Jesus as the son of man about 80 times;
    4. This reference by the Jews connects Jesus to his human nature and lineage to King David;
    5. Son of God is mostly a New Testament church age title connecting Jesus to his divine nature as God manifested in the flesh ( John 1:14);
    6. Sons of God in Old Testament is in reference to the devil and his fallen angels (Job:1:6; 2:1; Genesis 6:2);
    7. The sons of God in the New Testament refers to born again believers in Jesus Christ ( John 1:12; Romans 8:14);
    8. Do not confuse son of God with sons of God, they are 2 different groups of beings;
    9. Please, remember that the bible always interprets itself and honestly and using scriptures to make your point will validate your point ( 2 Timothy 3:16).
  • Jay on John 3 - 11 years ago
    @Ken,
    The scripture that you can read and get a visual picture of salvation is Colossians 2:9-13.
  • Jay on John 3 - 11 years ago
    @ Tom Allen,
    On verse 7:
    1. Please read verse 5 and you will see that only an individual person can be born again, because Jesus Christ died on the cross for those who have souls, only a person can be born of water (Women's wound) and born of the spirit ( Ephesians 2:1);
    2. A nation can have revivals if enough souls ( 1 Thessalonians 5:23; Hebrews 13:17) get saved;
    3. Ye is in reference to all men, not a nation ( 2 Peter 3:9).
  • Tom Allan on John 3:7 - 11 years ago
    Jesus is saying to Nicodemus, ThouNicodemus, Ye The Nation Israel must be born again. Thou is singular while Ye is plural. The nation Israel must be born again, not the individual.
  • Ken Bobbitt on John 3 - 11 years ago
    Do you have any pictures for the plan of salvation?
