A Person does not have to know one Word of The Bible. All they need to know is that Their Sin will send them to Hell. That comes about when a Believer shares The Way of Salvation. They may have never been in a Church or seen a Bible. The Spirit will tug on Their Heart. Without knowing one Word of The Bible, you can bring others to Salvation with your Testimony. Let us bring them in. The Day is-----

This is such a good Bible site. I just went to 'more', then 'various Bible topics', then clicked on 's', scrolled to 'studying the word', and up came no less than 17 vs. on STUDYING His Word. And, there are many more allusions to studying His throughout the Bible, Josiah the reformer when the Word of God was read to him, when the decree of Cyrus was found, and so many more.

As far as not needing to read the Bible for salvation - then why did Jesus give us Jn.5:39 (His own words); Acts17:11; Col.1:10. During His earthly ministry that's ALL He did - was quote scripture (no, what He said wasn't ALL written down yet, but - He knew it would be; Jesus was omniscient - all knowing) As it came from His mouth it was - scripture..

Obedience to God's words are more important than sacrifice. We will surely be made whole once we obey God's words. Yes only Jesus is the healer he has appointed time to heal the sick and he has appointed time to bless us for his yoke is easy and thy burden is light only if you trust him and handover everything to Jesus let's praise him and thanked his blood amen

I have a cousin who claims the angel stiring the water was only a legend. He claimed based on early transcript the verse ... the a angel... was not in the original text. What do you say to this?
  • Matt on John 5 - 7 years ago
There is no rapture. Paul stated in 2nd Thess. we will not all gather back to The Lord until after the 'falling away' aka the tribulation of the antichrist. Jesus indeed said we would be going through the tribulation in Matt. 24. The two witnesses (Smyrna
  • Zeingoff on John 5 - 7 years ago
The Bible doesn't mention "Rapture" but Paul says we shall meet in the air which he said would comfort us. Don't go there but vs 47 which calls us to learn the whole Bible. Jesus' word is mostly in parables which people mostly misinterpret. It is not given everyone to understand. But God spoke plainly to the Fathers. No one mentioned Rapture. But they plainly spoke if Spirit. Read Moses.
  • Irene123 on John 5 - 7 years ago
Rom. 11:26 - As far as Israel being or not being saved, Paul very plainly says they will be. But this is after the Rapture when Jesus turns again to the Jews, and after the trib.; It will be during His millennial reign - and THEN after that- the GREAT WHITE THRONE judgment, and then - ETERNITY.
  • Irene123 on John 5 - 7 years ago
Rom. 11:1-5; God has not cast the Jews away; He's only 'set them aside' until the fullness of the Gentiles comes in (the Rapture). Even now any Jew can turn to Jesus in truth - Jesus' truth, the Word of God, not man's word.

jesus is the pool now if we read john 5 every day is like going to the pool everyday
  • A disciple on John 5 - 7 years ago
"For an angel went down at a certain season into the pool, and troubled the water: whosoever then first after the troubling of the water stepped in was made whole of whatsoever disease he had." How many ever think about the many and diverse ways which God spoke to the fathers in times past?or about all the many other things Jesus did, which could be written about? or the things spoken in parables?

We must not forget that the main focus of the Bible is Jesus Christ. God chose Abraham not because he was the greatest saint though he is the father of the faithful but because of God's grace Gen. 12. For by grace are we saved Eph. 2:8,9. By making Abraham a name and him a blessings to the families of the earth mainly through Joseph and Moses in Egypt delivering them God made his own name Great.
  • Matt on John 5 - 7 years ago
The Abrahamic covenant was made with Abraham, Issac and Jacob. After the cross, a new covenant was made. The Israelites were promised the Savior, and that was why Christ was sent to them first, to let them know their Shepherd had arrived. When He gave His life on the cross, all races, kinds, etc. could be saved if they believe on Him. The 'Jews' are not Abraham's children. Read John chapter 8.
  • Irene123 on John 5 - 7 years ago
God's 'chosen' people. God chose Abraham and his seed as His people. Because Abraham was the first to have faith COMPLETELY in God (God called him 'friend'). Noah, altho' was righteous before God, he 'fell' after the flood; Abraham never did. The faith Abraham had was in his genes and his teaching to his family. In Isaac shall thy seed be called. It's just the way it is; it's of God.
  • Matt on John 5 - 7 years ago
@ William, that is because they are not of God as He stated in John ch. 8 v. 44-45:

Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it. And because I tell you the truth, ye believe me not.

God is more concern about establishing a relationship with people than rituals.
  • William Boyd on John 5 - 8 years ago
I cannot understand how we can study verses 36 to the end of chapter 5 and read what Jesus is telling the Jews and yet have people assuming they're the "chosen" people. Just as in chapter 8 He's telling them that they can never understand the word of God that's given to the true Israel. At verse 43 He tells them; I know you and you have not the love of God in you! A horrible incrimination!
  • Donna Wilkin on John 5 - 8 years ago
From the man being heal at the waters of Bethesda we can learn that no one need ever say that "I have no man" to help me, because we all have the Son of God, Man of Holiness to help and save us all. And He is ever calling unto us to "come" and He will heal us of all our infirmity if we be have faith and try to follow His ways and keep His commandments. "for faith with out works is dead.
  • Donna Wilkins on John 5 - 8 years ago
Verse 25: Christ speaks of the dead hearing His voice, 26: He speaks of the father having life in Himself, and has given he Jesus life also in Himself, 28-29 Christ speaks of the graves being opened or the resurrection of the dead. We are created in the image of God, Christ His son was given a mortal and resurrected body. So thus the Father like wise has a physical and spiritual body.
  • Cyrilhassanally@gmail on John 5 - 8 years ago
It would seem from vs 29 that Jesus is basing his judgement on works done. Paul on the other hand says not of works so that any man should boast. James says faith and works he combines Jesus and Paul in his formula.there seems to be three different formulas to heaven

Verse 17 shows that God has kept working and so has Jesus. We should be hard working in imitation of them.
