You appear to group ALL Churches by these descriptions. I realize that many do not wholly follow the Word of God, often bending & twisting Scriptures to suit their own ends or even in gross perversion of biblical Truths, but you would need to give specifics to your statements/questions, which seem too generalized.
  • Chris - In Reply on John 5 - 3 years ago
I think you might be referring to 2 Chronicles 2:7: "Send me now therefore a man cunning to work in gold, and in silver, and in brass, and in iron, and in purple, and crimson, and blue, and that can skill to grave with the cunning men that are with me in Judah and in Jerusalem, whom David my father did provide." And there are other verses in similar vein about "purple", e.g. Exodus 35:35.

The word "cunning" is an archaic word for 'skilled'. You could also use words such as 'being adept in performance or having manual dexterity'. And these men were selected for their ability to work with fabric, producing high quality workmanship.

    Why do churches practice

    'the image of jealousy'?

    doctrines of vanities?

    And doctrine of devils?

Why do preachers want to be a minister of Satan and not a minister of Christ Jesus ?
  • Nas jones on John 5 - 3 years ago
If a person clothes himself in blue or purple is that person 'a cunning man'?

Or is that person mocking God?

So whether it's Art that is your hobby (& that is a great past-time requiring the creative part of your brain) & it takes up some of your spare time, or something else, such as reading, engaging in constructive games with family, friends, or on the Web, all these & many more that we can do to keep ourselves occupied & not let our minds begin to wander. Even helping a friend or neighbour out, can be very satisfying.

When the mind wanders, it sometimes settles on thoughts that are not right or pleasing to the Lord. As you train yourself to focus on other worthy things in life & keep yourself busy, you'll find that your attitude & perceptions of others will also change. When once you looked at women with lust, you will now consider them differently in a godly way, & not as objects bringing on wrong thoughts. And when the time comes for you to settle down in marriage, as you ask the Lord for the right person to be your wife, you will see her & appreciate her for who she is & her contribution to your life & not just for sexual satisfaction. And she will appreciate a husband who has kept himself pure in mind & body, trusting the Lord for everything. You have a great life in Christ ahead of you - continue to seek Him first in everything you face & all your needs will be met, as a loving Father giving care to His son.

I'm retired now & don't get about as much as I used to. However, this gives me opportunity to read more of God's Word (as you are also doing), ministering to others & getting on this KJB Site to be part of a great bunch of believers seeking to help others get to know the Lord & His Word better. Otherwise, odd jobs around the house, gardening & my love for flying (on a computer Simulator of course), also keeps me mentally & spiritually engaged. I too falter & fail the Lord at times - but the Lord's response is never one of anger & rejection, but of love, forgiveness & restoration. Stay close to Him at all times, my young friend - He's always there for you.

Well I don't occasionally leave our house much accept to work 18 hours a week, that's about it. And one of my interests is art I really enjoy drawing.

Hi, there's a 10 month old child who may be suffering from a genetic disorder, there's a 6 month old baby in ICU and there's another child named Caith who has an abnormal sac of fluid or brain tissue that extends through a detect in her skull. Plus there's God knows how many others suffering from various diseases/ illnesses like Covid, blood cancer and others. There's one person who has anxiety issues, there are those in ICU, there are those who have seizures and another earthquake happened recently this year. Please pray for healing and salvation/ repentance including the salvation/ repentance of those around those suffering (mentioned here and those not mentioned here).

    Thank you so much.

Your honesty & strong desire for victory in this weak area of your life, is noticeable & you do receive our prayers & support. As a young man of 16, I perceive that your unnatural view of women, has been introduced & fostered by engaging in media depictions of women or even through viewing pornography. I know many people, young & old, engage in this as it is given so liberally on the Web & elsewhere, to satisfy our sinful cravings.

You say that the "void" in your life is huge & that is so dangerous. I can't change your family's use of their spare time, but I can offer some suggestions. And I agree, that Bible reading & prayer cannot take up all your time, even for the ability to concentrate. But remember, prayer to God for help, is not confined at a particular time of the day, but wherever you might be: on the street, in a cafe, out with friends. Whenever sin comes knocking at the door of your heart, your first call is to the Lord Who loves you & wants to see you living in victory.

An addiction, any addiction, requires determination & discipline to rid the habit. The craving might be there for a while, but the pursuit of it has to stop quickly. Firstly, stay away from those areas that are tempting you to lust. Remember that the Bible often speaks of fleeing lust when it comes ( 2 Timothy 2:22, James 4:7, 1 Corinthians 10:13,14, 1 Timothy 6:9-12, 1 Corinthians 6:18-20). If it's books, the Web, the beach, the movies, etc. that is causing you to falter, then stay away from them. The next important thing is how you view women. Always make it a constant practise to see them in a proper, natural way as equal members of society, worthy of real love & respect. You're in that 'highly charged' age group, but that doesn't mean that women should be considered in any other way than you would expect them to consider you or treat you. Be involved in Church youth socializing with them, be careful who your friends are & where you go with them. What are your interests?

Hi anonymous person. Prayer and outside of prayer I would suggest control the eyes, and the ears, sometimes music can take control of your mood swings, monitor what makes you weak, spend a lot of time in the word, and do whatever you can to minister what the Holyspirit have taught you through the scripture, change may not come overnight , but know that you made your partition before the Lord. I hope that helps.

I am also only 16 and my family kind of does nothing all the time. How can I stay busy and keep bad thoughts out of my head when I do nothing all the time, it's a huge void for satan to fill, and I read the Bible but I can't read it all day everyday. I take time out to read the Bible daily, but What do I do to take up some of my free time afterwards.
  • Anonymous - In Reply on John 5 - 3 years ago
Thank you so much you have no idea how much that helps me. I really like being able to ask Bible questions to get closer to the lord.
  • Chris - In Reply on John 5 - 3 years ago
That's a very important & pertinent issue you've raised & I appreciate your honesty in admitting it, an area so common to the male species, but often kept buried. With all the bombardment from the media that typifies women as sexual objects rather than seeing them as God intended & to love & respect them as we would our own mothers & sisters, it is little wonder that both Christians & non-Christians suffer badly here.

I understand what you're saying, though unsure of your marital status or age group, as in my younger days as a single unbeliever in the Armed Forces, there was always the pressure to conform & to view females in an unnatural way; & our treatment of them usually reflected our mindset. Many of them too, gave in to us & one even openly stated that women were on Earth to give pleasure to men! So for the Christian, Jesus' Work at the Cross not only forgives us our past sins but endues us with Power from on high to live above that type of carnal living. Yet the internal struggle goes on.

You write about "self discipline and training your mind" which I presume includes spending much time in God's Word & prayer & specifically about your areas of weakness. Indeed, the Spirit of the Lord is there to guide & strengthen you, but also to inspire you to use whatever means to deal with it. Remember, whenever we seek to remove something from within, there is an empty space to fill. If it remains empty, then that temptation to sin is ever ready to fill the void. And this goes for any sin which is not of a sexual nature. You know the things that trigger lust for you & so how can you avoid them or deal with them? As said, soak yourself in the Word & serving the Lord in whatever way you can. Look at women as those of your own family. Whenever the wrong thoughts enter, cover it with the Word, look to the Lord to give you a way of escape ( 1 Corinthians 10:13), fill your mind with goodness ( Philippians 4:8). "An idle mind is the Devil's Workshop" - keep your mind employed.

Hi Barbara, didn't know if you got a clear clear answer from your question, here is some verses that might help. 2nd Corinthians 5:6-8. and Philippians 1:20-23. The spirit which is you, goes to be with the Lord and the body which Paul calls a earthly house/ tabernacle. meaning a tent, " temporary dwelling place" goes to the grave. Also read 1st Thessalonians 4:13-17. hope that helps.

Apostle Paul said they sleep in Jesus until resurrection day .

Which according to Jesus is the last day , the dead in Christ arise and we which remain are caught up to meet Jesus , so that it's the day of redemption we all look for . It only happens once for all believers. At that time on the last Day at his coming , that every eye will eventually see . It's not a secret coming .

Believers bodies wait in the grave until God says it's time. Their bodies rise to meet Jesus in the Clouds; where we'll receive our new incorruptible resurrection bodies along with our soul and spirit.

Next: the now living born again, Holy Spirit baptized Christians meet Jesus in the Clouds. Our bodies are complete except they are incorruptible resurrection bodies too. No more pain; just joy.

Keep praying for those that sit on the fence of unbelief or indecision.

I get comic book Bible tracts from Chick dot com and put one on benches or on the ground by business doorways. Who doesn't like to get a comic?

Go back to The Garden of Eden. To all the beasts of the field were attributes given to survive. Some have speed, some have stealth, some wings to leave the ground, some claws and others teeth to break bone. And yet Man who has none of these attributes was given the Authority to Rule over all of The Garden. This is because the strength of man is in the refuge of Christ. Christ made all and He is our refuge for power, strength and authority. But remember, the Kingdom Of God is in humility, servitude and mercy. So the smallest good deed of sharing is power, strength and authority given to us from Christ for His Love of us to be with Him in The Kingdom of God. Amen!

Most people do not understand, and I don't have it all figured out my self . But it is getting clearer as I study it , it's not easy . Do not get over whelmed With this but Trust the Lord and ask him to show you things . It takes time .

There are many false interpretations to be sure so don't rush into any of them .

The book of revelation is a revelation, so it unfolds it's self in time . Look at the Antichrist so many people speculate about it . But when the time is , it will be easy to understand and those that look to the word will do well . Others will have abandoned the word and be deceived.

I could say lots but this long already . Work on being faithful to what you know , Trust God with the unknown , He is already there .

Saved, sanctify, or set apart means that one puts on the armor of God. The armor is God's laws, statutes, and commandments in which one applies to their life therefore saving you from the evils and wickedness of the world. Doing these laws, statutes and commandments will bring upon blessings and the ultimate reward, eternal life.

Levitcus 20:7 reads Sanctify yourselves therefore, be ye holy: for I Am the LORD which sanctify(save, set apart) you.

james 1:25...But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.

john 3:15-21...15That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.

16For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

17For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

18He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

19And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.

20For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.

21But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.

    Hello Patrick,

English words have subtle similarities and or difference. A trait has been scientifically defined and proven for decades as to its accuracy and meaning: traits are any characteristic or discernable feature that is permanent. Examples are: someone born with brown eyes will never have a natural colour change because that is the most dominant eye DNA trait, and another with cheerful outlook all his/her life has an optimistic personality trait in contrast to someone who is optimistic only occasionally. A less permanent or less dominant feature or characteristic is called a "state" quality, feature, or characteristic. The word attribute is not a scientific word, but is just a synonym for the words characteristic, feature or quality (describes someone or something). So, an attribute can be a state or a trait but never both. Examples of attributes: someone born with red hair is classified as red haired when young but will be in either the grey hair or white hair attribute category when old; someone who is energetic usually is throughout life even when retired and slowed down due to aging. So, no the two words are not the same

Jn 5:28 Those who have died with the seed of Christ and now lying in the graves will hear His voice ( the voice of the main Preacher of 1Th 4:16) and they will rise first because, the things of the flesh will no longer have power to draw them back.

"Concerning the Swearing of Oaths we believe and confess, that the Lord Christ has set aside and forbidden, the same to His disciples, and they should not swear at all, but that yea should be yea, and nay, nay; from which we understand that all oaths, high and low are forbidden, and that instead of them we are to confirm all our promises and obligations, yea, all our declarations and testimonies of any matter, only with our word yea, in that which is yea, yet, that we must always, in all matters and with everyone, adhere to, keep, follow, and fulfill the same, as though we had confirmed it with a solemn oath. And if we do this, we trust that no one, not even the Magistracy itself, will have just reason to lay a greater burden on our mind, and conscience.

"We believe and confess that, since the imagination of man's heart is evil from his youth, and, therefore, prone to all unrighteousness, sin, and wickedness, the first lesson of the precious New Testament of the Son of God is repentance and reformation of life, and that, therefore, those who have ears to hear, and hearts to understand, must bring forth genuine fruits of repentance, reform their lives, believe the Gospel, eschew evil and do good, desist from unrighteousness, forsake sin, put off the old man with his deeds, and put on the new man, which, after God, is created in righteousness and true holiness; for neither baptism, supper, church, or any other outward ceremony, can without faith, regeneration, change or renewing of life, avail anything to please God or to obtain of Him any consolation or promise of salvation; bit we must go to God with an upright heart, and perfect faith, and believe in Jesus Christ, as the Scriptures say, and testify of Him; through which faith we obtain forgiveness of sins, are sanctified, justified, and made Children of God, yea partake of His mind, nature and image, as being born again of God from above, through incorruptible seed.
