Jesus says I am the light of the world. The influences of mankind and the effects of it, however Good or evil they may be! Here is one who words will open the hearts and minds conquering what man fears the most! Sin , death, and hell itself. Unlike us who would take credit for what we might contribute to the world, we see a man who glorifies not himself ,but who glorifies His Father that has sent Him! Christ, once again divides the darkness from the light, with the words "I am the light of the world". When we except Christ and His word, only then will we begin to know what the Father has for those that love Him! Growing in the faith of his love will conquer anything imaginable ,anything you or I could think or contribute to ourselves or anyone.

If you continue in my word..

Sadly the greatest sermon given by our Messiah Yeshua Jesus of Nazareth goes ignored as commands

Each command honors the one command given to Adam in the Garden of Eden (clarified Gen 3;22)

Yet like Yeshuas commands, Adams sin goes ignored&unrepented

    (This is not by accident)

If you love me you will obey me "then" my father will love you because he loves me and will make his home in you!

Let those who hear, hear the word of God..

Don't be deceived whom you obey is your Lord&God!

Why call me Lord and not do as I command?

Christ spent the night in the mount of Olives. He has indeed no where to lay his head, the animals have more comfort than he has. The church , not unlike today wants nothing more than to take away Christs diety. They will do anything to discredit the life of Christ and his universal judgment of sin. He has this authority given to him by His Father .These who would use the sin of others , who by the way , was no coincidence, of being found in adultery. If in fact these

judgmenters knew these couples sin could have more than once before judged them already , but would not for who what reasons? As said Christ ,"He who is without sin among you"? Christ has well pronounced them as liars. And they are as their fathers. Just the way they laid it out there for Christ, Christ gave it right back at them! WITH AUTHORITY!

What I would say about this scripture is that, we are in a sinful world and almost everyone is a sinner and this is what Jesus wanted to bring to each one's mind. so the act of Jesus bending down to write was to give whoever was present the right time to think about himself or herself of their conduct, and either to have a spirit of remembering all you walks of life . and to me whatever our LORD Jesus wrote on the ground could have contained everyone sin and the time of happening.

My word means Jesus himself John 1:1 & 14 . And also John 6:63 says Lords word's has Life and Spirit in it but not in the words (Doctrines) of a man. So when we remain in the word's of our Lord Jesus Christ. then we shall know (Understand) The Truth and the Truth will deliver us.

Because THE BIBLE said she was caught in adultery.

You don't get to change the words.
  • Bob Grove on John 8:4 - 4 years ago
This woman was caught in adultery . Why did it not say fornication ?

Because fornication is out side of a marriage . ( not involving a married person ). You Can go with your dictionary but that's not the word of God . Be careful not to confuse mans interpretation for Gods . A Huge error these days .

comment on john 8 v 34 kjv Jesus said whosoever sins is the servant of sin and we all sin, we are not perfect yet thus we have no freewill yet even Paul said when i wd do good evil is present with me,the things i wanna do i cannot do and the things i wd not do is what i do.Oh wretched man that i am who shall deliver me from this state,we have not got to the promise land just yet we are in the land of NO CONDEMNATION, GRACE ETC .But the kingdom has not come yet when we will be perfect,be ye perfect etc as your father in heaven is perfect,Perfection implies being incorruptible as being bornagain of an incorruptible seed etc,Jesus was incorruptible perfect as his father was incorruptible perfect.Whom the SON sets free is free indeed Is not here just yet.Simply b/c the book has not been opened just yet that contains the words of life ( the seeds of the sower ) that new covenant making mankind like God,to whom the WORD came it made them Gods PERFECTION. THATS Y THEY SANG A NEW SONG WHEN TH BOOK WAS OPENED SIMPLY B/C THE BOOK IS TH NEW COVENANT Jesus wrote this book with his own blood even in the O.T. it had to be Didicated with blood AND THAT 1ST COVENANT WAS REFERED TO AS A BOOK.We are gonna sing a new song,we are not gonna sing this churchanity song much longer. Your House has become a den of theives and robbers etc GBU

In Jn chap 8, Jesus was dealing with the religious leaders of his day (Scribes & Pharisees). Jesus gave them some powerful, accusatory words (see the whole chapter). But He also told them that they couldn't understand Him because they couldn't hear him (couldn't grasp heavenly teaching). He told them that He brought them God's Word, the Truth, but they refused to believe Him because their father wasn't God but the Devil. So to verse 47: Jesus said, "He is that is of God heareth God's Words", or the person that is obedient to God & His laws (not the Jews traditions & interpretations), can grasp the meaning & live accordingly. So he told them that since they could not grasp spiritual things, this proved that God was not their Father, but Satan was. Then of course, they began to accuse Jesus of being demon possessed. In your desire to hear from God, you must attend to His Word, the Bible & listen out for His Spirit's Voice to speak to your heart & give you Light.

I agree Zac what a beautiful demonstration of God's love.
  • Zac is Bac on John 8 - 5 years ago
I love this chapter. I never forget the story of the adulteress. Jesus was the only One worthy to condemn her. The Pharissees figured that out, and left. Jesus then forgave her. What a beautiful story.

Verse 44 Satan the Devil is a liar and is described as a father of the lie because he was the one who told the very first lie.
  • Obbie Beal on John 8 - 5 years ago
1-59 above (at that time) Jesus 'faithfully follow' HIS duty assigned to HIM by GOD, though the opposition from certain religious people was great.
  • Delmar W Stilwell Jr on John 8 - 5 years ago
I found it amazing that they accused him of being a **. And went so far as saying that he was possessed with a devil.

Awesomer each time I read this. Speechless and gratified is how I feel. Thanx.
  • Steve on John 8 - 5 years ago
It is impossible to understand that Jesus proceeded and came forth from God, for it is a matter of faith. Even thought the people witnessed his miracles and heard his sermons as he taught daily in the temple, yet they doubted. The Devil works hard every day to deceive the people, and lo, they are deceived. Which of us could fast alone in the barren desert, and face down the Devil. It happens!

I have to ask God daily to guide me in this dark world. He will always make a way of escape. Its up to us to take it
  • James on John 8 - 6 years ago
There are so many messages that can be preached from this chapter but lets focus on one and that is prayer. This group of men knew just where to find Jesus early in the morning, because the scripture tell us that Jesus went early in the morning to pray. Do we start our day with prayer. When you talk to God as you start the day with prayer. That day will always be a good day. Prayer must come first
  • A disciple on John 8 - 6 years ago
"Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed;" Look at the different kinds of "Believers" and see if they're all going to be saved, simply because they believe in Jesus. The devils believe and tremble. The hireling knows the real Good Shepherd but still doesn't care. The wolf knows the shepherd but still wants to eat the sheep.
  • A disciple on John 8 - 6 years ago
"Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; and ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." But as we keep reading we immediately find, that it is possible to believe in Jesus and yet His has no place in them; but they are in a constant state of opposition and contradiction, and will not receive or understand.
  • Servant of God on John 8 - 6 years ago
He is a liar and the father of it! He lies because there is no truth in him, because he is of the world, because his father is the devil, and there is no repentance in him. So they accuse Jesus, whom the Father has sent of having a devil. OMG, what hypocrisy. Are we not paying attention to current events? What is happening is a descent into these conditions that existed then! Are we not aware?
  • Jimmy a disciple of Jesus on John 8 - 6 years ago
how come no one is mentioning Romans 10:9-10...or even Acts16:29-31...we do have to be careful about false doctrines..what is repentance?? to turn away from the way we used to be...this is not to be seen in the carnal realm but in the spiritual!! Jesus said " the words i speak unto are spirit and are life!!Repentance starts in the Spiritual realm then is seen in the Carnal.
  • A disciple on John 8 - 6 years ago
"...I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life." Jesus said that His Elect, in whom He has wrought grace and truth and given of His Spirit, SHALL NOT WALK IN DARKNESS, BUT SHALL HAVE THE LIGHT OF LIFE! How then is it a stumblingblock to some that we should walk in holiness and truth and understand the Scriptures and our time here?
