The son of man is the omega. We know that the alpha is the beginning. So the omega comes last but shall be first. In other words one is the seed and the other is the fruit. It is out of the sea of men that the omega comes. That is why he is called the son of man. The storm is upon the sea but the son of man will appear and calm the seas just with his voice. In every field there is sons of God. These are the ones that he son of man seeks to bring back into their proper place of authority. The others who cannot hear this voice are not the children of God and not his concern however everyone is saved. The sons of God and the children of hell. All are saved.

Jesus make them realise that HE WAS before the Abraham. But they have not come to the knowledge of whom Jesus was

  • Shepherd on John 8 - 11 years ago
None of us is holy. Our own righteousness is filthy rags before God. If we say we have no sin, we are lying the truth is not in us. The scribes and pharisees wanted to stone the poor woman who happen to be caught in adultery. Yet they, themselves were laden with sins. Lord Jesus Christ is the only one, who brings Holyness and Righteousness in our lives. God bless

verse 59, i think that Jesus rreally showed them how awesome He is
  • Rev Ifeanyi on John 8:31 - 11 years ago
The word "if" is very obvious. This is a word that introduces condition. The true condition for knowing a true disciple is " if" the person does continue in the teachings of Jesus. It is not enough to be in a programme, cry, kneel, and ask for mercy if we cannot leave the programme and continue in his teachings.
  • Malalisa on John 8:36 - 11 years ago
John 8:36 was refering to those particular areas of our life that are bound to sin and need to be freed by Jesus.lf ur health, financial, merriage and etc was under oppression then Jesus was introducing his abillity to set us free.
  • Merere mwambene on John 8:32 - 11 years ago
john 8:32 And you shall know the truth. Good disciple should learn the word of god because the truth is the word of god and god himself is word all believers should obey the word of god for which it says .
  • Jose becerril on John 8 - 11 years ago
From verse 37 to verse 44 from Matthew 13 Jesus told them why they do not understand his word and is plenty explanatory why they do not. you are from your father the devil.
  • Nancy amankwata on John 8:32 - 11 years ago
    well understood
  • Roy on John 8:56 - 11 years ago
Many things are possible! Even: The tomb of Abraham was in the area that Jesus walked and roamed, perhaps before his ministry began. He could easily have gone to Abraham's tomb and raised him from death to satisfy a promise implied by his longing. But of course, such is not written. The wonder to me here is that mysteries like these seem to stretch and broaden the faith, not weaken it.

What is this woman's name in John 8:4?
  • Christina morkos on John 8 - 11 years ago
i think that Jesus healed this woman from many things her feeling that God,people, herself all of them were condemning on her and he is doing it with us also
  • Joyce Hutto on John 8 - 11 years ago
The true answer cometh from reading the word; John 1:1In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. We have His answers to all things contained in His Holy Word.
  • Bob Wunderlich on John 8:37 - 11 years ago
John 8:37 is a very strange verse. If you are "the seed of Abraham" then you are a Christian. This verse only makes sense with one correct understanding. Without this understanding, this verse is impossible. It cannot be true. Want to know the understanding? Give me an email....

I love verse 7. I know many Christians who should think about this when judging the sins of others.

Adam was going to be our eternal father because he was going to live forever. But when he sinned he lost that privledge because, although he lived for many centuries, he died.(Gen3:19 Gen.5:5) Jesus gave up heavenly position ( Jn 17:5) and became lower than the angels. ( Heb. 2:7) so he could be like his brothers, sharers of blood and flesh.(Heb.2:12-17). The only one that could be sacrificed had to like Adam, perfect. So, Jesus took the place of Adam and became the eternal father. (1Corn.15:45, Isa.9:6) Everything was given to Jesus.(Jn.13:3) After he is done ruling as king,he hands over the kingdom to his God and Father when he has brought to nothing all government and all authority and power.(1 Corn.15:24-26.)

John 8:3-11, The woman was taken to Jesus Christ for judgment. Jesus said go and sin no more. This means someone or people can obey this command, but I cannot point out who they are, only God knows the heart. Jesus is so merciful saying this word even if no one can obey. For example of a good father in the family, he will not command his 4 years old son/daughter to bring one container filled with water, since he knew it is so heavy. Our God also cannot command the word to his people that we cannot do. To enter into the kingdom of heaven is dual. Faith to the Lord Jesus Christ and faith to His word also. I would not deny that faith alone can save Soul. Our Lord Jesus Christ gave us an example to the one on his side also hanging on the cross whom he has given a promise to enter into the kingdom of heaven. After that promise he was dead, so nothing bad or good could happen again because his body was dead. Not like us who are still alive. We cannot compare our faith to that of one of the robbers, who died just after receiving the Lord Jesus Christ by faith, because our evil thoughts, evil eyes are always there and also we are often liars. To erase this, we have to work and practice to follow His words and ask him for help, and pray that all our bad works will be cleansed before his judgment comes. We know we are all temporarily here, so why don’t we prepare for that day to come? Verses to support salvation of our own Soul is individual based on our own works and not by faith whereby many believers were deceived. Old Testament Ezekiel 14:14, 14:20, 18:27. New Testament Philippians 2:12, James 1:21-22, 1Timothy 4:16. My God will judge our works whether good or bad. My God will not judge our faith to Him.

Welcome to the truth, as it was hard to understand Jesus was of the father to open the eye's of people that they may believe what Abraham and the Prophets had seen and believe in faith.

Verse 28 means when the Jews cause the Son of man (evil) to rise to power and the false religion takes over the world, then the Jews will know that Jesus is the Son of God. Verse 44, Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it. Verse 45 And because I tell you the truth, ye believe me not.
  • Tim Kelton on John 8:11 - 11 years ago
Jesus mercy and compassion are still here for us as well. His final words to this women are simple, "Go and sin no more", go back to your first husband and no others, and don't sin again. She was caught in the act of Adultery with other men than her husband. If two people marry, that have Never been married before, they have become one in the sight of God, right, One flesh. Now, if that couple divorced, they both, "set themselves up to commit adultery", when they re-marry another or have a relationship outside (Their Marriage Bond....) They are Bound by God until one of them dies. What God hath joined together, let No Man put asunder. The sin was not the marriage to the first husband, so what is to be forgiven? God forgives me so I can marry again? Are we going to live our lives as the woman at the well, in sin? God forbid!! Fornication is the only true out for remarriage. Let's say I marry a woman who has a living husband, even though they are divorced, she is not, nor will ever be my wife according to God and Jesus. In this case I would be committing Fornication with her, she would be committing Adultery with me. "She has a living husband" and I don't have a living wife. Matthew 19:3-9 Self explanation...
  • Tim Kelton on John 8:41 - 11 years ago
In John 8:41, Jesus said: Ye do the deeds of your father. Then said they to him, We be not born of fornication; we have one father, even God. In this scripture they were telling Jesus that, they knew who their father and mother were. They knew that Mary and Joseph were not married when Mary conceived, but did know that Joseph was not his father, (They did not have and understand the Holy Ghost involvement). Thus the true meaning of fornication is reviled: Mary was Joseph’s espoused wife, Joseph had not taken her before marriage, (Chosen for him by his parents, from a child). This is still the custom in some countries today.
  • Kenny kgatla on John 8:44 - 12 years ago
Ye are of your father the devil. Jesus meant that the nature of lying of this dark angel (devil) was in them. And the lusts of your father ye will do; -you will promote or support his evil purpose. What he desires to fulfil in the world: deceiving, misleading and murdering humanity. He was a murder from the beginning and abode not in the truth, -his sole purpose is to lead astray and kill through deception. Telling lies is his nature because it is his main weapon of destruction. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is liar, and the father of it. -He was the first one to lie to Adam and Eve about eating the fruits of the tree in the middle of the Garden of Eden. He triumphs and rejoices in lies.
  • Shingie on John 8 - 12 years ago
The message of the new testament is very clear. Repent and be converted that you may be set free from the bondage of sin. Romans 14 says that anything that is not of faith is sin. Faith is what gives us the ability to overcome sin.
  • Grant on John 8 - 12 years ago
It proves of Christ preexistance with his father.( John 17:5) Not his being God.
