Judges 20:17 MEANING

Judges 20:17
Verse 17. - A repetition of the statement in ver. 2.

CHAPTER 20:18-48

17:7-13 Micah thought it was a sign of God's favour to him and his images, that a Levite should come to his door. Thus those who please themselves with their own delusions, if Providence unexpectedly bring any thing to their hands that further them in their evil way, are apt from thence to think that God is pleased with them. And the men of Israel, beside Benjamin,.... Who did not join them in this affair, but opposed them:

were numbered four hundred thousand men that drew sword: see Judges 20:9.

all these were men of war; inured to it, skilful and courageous.
