  • BSP on Judges 4 - 3 years ago
The Israelites were constantly backsliding after Jehovah God would save them. God was so patient with them but they took his kindness for weakness.

You can find English translations in "OTHER TRANSLATIONS" "He said to her, 'Please give me a little water to drink for I am thirsty.' She opened a bottle of milk, and gave him drink, and covered him." He said to the girl, "Please give me a little water for me to drink, I'm thirsty." Then, she opened a bottle of milk, and gave it to him. Does that explain enough unto you?

11 Now Heber the Kenite, which was of the children of Hobab the father in law of Moses, had severed himself from the Kenites, and pitched his tent unto the plain of Zaanaim, which is by Kedesh. Hmmm, Hobab was the son of Jethro who sometimes was called Reuel. Jethro was the father in law of Moses.

I always receive strength from this chapter of Judges in reference to God reveals to us as Women that we too are in the Army of LORD, and that we are strategically positioned in places for the Master's Use. God gets Glory from us man or woman whend we give our will over back to Him. A willing vessel is what God wants us to be. Jael was blessed to be remembered and spoken of throughout generations.
  • Abel Israel on Judges 4 - 7 years ago
One interesting aspect in this very chapter is that, Gods word always find fulfillment in our lives. God spake through Deborah that a woman will take the victory or glory of the battle and not barak that came to pass in the life of jael. Gods word cannot fall to the ground!

It seems to not matter how many times Yahwey brings the children of Israel through, after they see his wonderous works, after they beg him they still go against him.

Dee; You are right! But God does love because He is love; and His goodness and mercy and long-suffering is the expression of that love; a goodness and love that is not dependent on the worth of the thing loved, but because God is good He is that way. But, He absolutely HATES the wicked and CAN NEVER ALLOW those who are IN THE IMAGE OF the devil, and any unclean and perverted into His presence.

If God love all why did he say he hate Essau, but he love Jacob. I don't believe based on this scripture that God loves all.
He also said that he is angry with the wicked every day - it is his words not mine. I am simply quoting scripture. We cannot put words in His mouth. That would not do Him justice.
  • Irene123 on Judges 4 - 7 years ago
Man accepts excuses for sin, bot - God does not. Barak flatly refused to follow God's will. That's really plain to see. If 'inadequacy' was what he felt, he KNEW to pray ad ask God for help. He was raised on the scriptures about God helping His people. Instead he lowered himself just about as low a any man or woman can go- to bypass God and ask for human help.
  • Juanita on Judges 4 - 7 years ago
In the book of Judges we can see how deep God's loves is. When we fall away from Him in sin He still hears our call. He is always there for us, after all He has already sent us a helper, sometimes we may think that we have slid to for, but the book of Judges reminds us of His faithfulness.
  • Meesha on Judges 4 - 8 years ago
What is so fascinating about the book of Judges is the mercy and Grace of GOD. To bring it to today's time, we see how when sin abounds, grace does much more abound. The wickedness of Israel is not greater than the grace of GOD because GOD always raises up a deliverer, someone who loves and trusts him enough to envoke his promises and principles. This is the jjob of every believer today.
  • BSP on Judges 4 - 8 years ago
In verse 8 Barak did not refuse the assignment and he did not disobey God. He felt feeling of inadequacy about carrying out God's command by himself.
  • Michael C. on Judges 4 - 8 years ago
We should learn from our Father in the heavens, from His character and actions, how we are likewise to think and believe and do always what is good and right; and not in kind to how we are mistreated, contradicted, and opposed by others. The Lord clearly proves this to Israel and to all men every day, BECAUSE HE IS GOOD. So He raises up deliverers, only so long there's still hope for repentance.
  • Tammy Millington on Judges 4 - 8 years ago
I believe that the book of judges is about Israel,GODS chosen people disobeyed GODS commandment, have no other gods but ME.HE was very angry for after JOSH.died the people had no knowledge of GOD so HE to raise up judges to rescue his people,we are his chosen also,HE raises up pastors and teachers to rescues us.
  • Anne on Judges 4 - 9 years ago
We could lose our blessing when we disobey or ignore God. When we repent and seek God's face, our blessings are restored.
  • Betrand on Judges 4 - 10 years ago
the book of judges teaches us about what happen after the death of joshua. How the people of isrevold agianst god and where dilivered by the prophetes
  • Sara Addy on Judges 4 - 12 years ago
THis chapter clearly shows how we can lose a blessing that could have been ours if we had sought God'counsel first.
