    Leviticus Chapter 19

"Be Ye holy as I the LORD your God am holy."

This is the over-reaching command of God to His people. To be holy like He is holy.

The statutes in this chapter speak of many different practices that are to be obeyed. Many apply to us today. Others, the principle apply to us today, and others do not apply to us today.

The important matter is to desire to know God and His holiness so that we can imitate Him.

God the Father sent His Son in the flesh to show us God's holiness lived out in human nature.

Jesus is the exact image of the Father. He is the perfect reflection of the character of God. He is the sinless Son living in complete obedience and submission to His Father. He is our righteousness that justifies us before the Father. We are to aim to imitate Him with the working of the Holy Spirit within us.

We should be careful not to harden our hearts by becoming friendly with the world's ways. we should instead be familiar with God's ways given to us in His word. Godliness is required of us who profess Jesus as our Lord and Savior. We will fall and fail. But we should care that we live a life that honors God and loves our neighbor rightly.

We should be eager to do what God has said is the right action and equally eager to refrain from what God has said is wrong for us to do.

We are not to be "holier than thou" looking down on people caught up in sin. We should be compassionate, loving, and willing to reach out to people like Jesus did to the tax collectors and sinners.

Holiness is not about "religious" practices such as church going, bible reading, etc. but instead be about living out the word received with gladness.

We should cultivate a love for what is pure and just and righteous, good and beneficial and honorable. We should have a determination to continually resist sinful inclinations, to stay away from tempting situations, to avoid every sort of evil.

Does it matter that we live godly lives. YES!

Believers should not be unequally yoked to unbelievers. A new testament teaching. Amos 3:3 Can two walk together, except they be agreed?

Leviticus 19:19 Ye shall keep my statutes. Thou shalt not let thy cattle gender with a diverse kind: thou shalt not sow thy field with mingled seed: neither shall a garment mingled of linen and woollen come upon thee.

If God doesn't want us MIXING cattle with a diverse kind, or a sow a field with MIXED SEED, it seems to me he wouldn't want Jews and Gentiles mixing or people of different races mixing. (mixed-race-marriages, mixed-race-offspring)

John 10:30 (Jesus speaking) "I and my Father are one."

If God said "Thou shalt not", Jesus wouldn't contradict Him. No where did Jesus say mixed-race (fooling around) was okay.

    1 Kings Chapter 11:

    1 But king Solomon loved many strange women, together with the daughter of Pharaoh, women of the Moabites, Ammonites, Edomites, Zidonians, and Hittites;

2 Of the nations concerning which the LORD said unto the children of Israel, Ye shall not go in to them, neither shall they come in unto you: for surely they will turn away your heart after their gods: Solomon clave unto these in love.

.....and as a result, Solomon's wives brought their idols into his house.
  • Richard H Priday on Leviticus 19 - 2 years ago
This chapter has the verse; amazingly of "loving your neighbor as yourself" (v. 18) from Christ's summarization of the law. This rule applies to the stranger as well (v. (v. 33-34). It also states in the previous verse that we are to "rebuke" our neighbor out of love. It reminds us of the N.T. verse "He scourges every one He loves." There are many exhortations here for behaviors appealing to justice such as not despising the deaf (v. 14); keeping food in the fields for the poor and stranger to glean (v. 8-10); and just measures and weights (v. 36). These are all virtues that improve a society whose individuals are under such a mandate.

The exhortation to fear our mother and father (v. 3) surely raises a valid point as to why the lack thereof results in a society like we have in the U.S. today. As to the second part of the verse and keeping the Sabbath; as the "Son of Man is the Lord of the Sabbath" today ( Matthew 12:8) the family which honors the Lord and teaches their children correctly will set a standard they will not soon forget. Truly, the quote of Billy Graham that "the family that prays together stays together" is an extrabiblical statement that has validity and is worth consideration.

There are other warnings here once again about not worshipping idols; and images (v. 4) and being involved with wizards (v. 31). Various other rituals associated with this are mentioned such as cutting corners of hair (v. 27). Rules about relations with bondmaids and prostituting ones daughter are here as well.

There are other rules about when to eat from fruit trees as well. It is clear that all things are related from that illustration; and seemingly unrelated things such as the bounty of a harvest are tied in with obedience to God with the circumcision analogy of trees 3 years or younger (v. 27). These statutes relate to breeding cattle and clothing not having mixed constituents relate to ceremonial laws of purity to stand in His Presence and live.

    Hello,

Ecclesiastes goes up to 12 chapters

    Link

Ecclesiasticus (Apocrypha) goes up to 51 chapters

    Link

    Does that answer your question?

    fairly certain this also applies.

"But the stranger that dwelleth with you shall be unto you AS ONE BORN AMONG YOU, and thou shalt love him as thyself; for ye were strangers in the land of Egypt: I am the LORD your God." Leviticus 19:34

    "Moreover concerning a stranger, that is not of thy people Israel, but cometh out of a far country FOR THY NAME'S SAKE;

    (For they shall hear of thy great name, and of thy strong hand, and of thy stretched out arm;) when he shall come and pray toward this house;

Hear thou in heaven thy dwelling place, and do according to all that the stranger calleth to thee for: that all people of the earth may know thy name, to fear thee, as do thy people Israel; and that they may know that this house, which I have builded, is called by thy name." 1 Kings 8:41-43

Denny, Deut 6:6-9 was God's instruction to His people, Israel, on how they needed to deal with the Law & Statutes that were given to them. So God first tells them, "And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart" v6. So the important thing was for them to store up God's Law in their hearts & minds, as we would also do today with the Bible, however, since there was very little by way of 'hard copies' of the Law at that time, memory & regular rehearsal of the Law was paramount.

Yet, one thing that was set as a physical reminder to prompt them to find recourse to the Law & to God's Mercy on them, was to do what was required in vv 8 & 9: "And thou shalt bind them for a sign upon thine hand, and they shall be as frontlets between thine eyes. And thou shalt write them upon the posts of thy house, and on thy gates." This was a physical act to remind them, just as some today would 'tie a string around the finger or wrist'.

So portions of the Law were bound to the arm or placed in small 'packets' on their foreheads as their reminder to remember & observe God's Laws. The (mezuzahs) were also attached to the gates of their homes & passers by would touch it & repeat Psalm 121:8. I should say, that some feel that God did not intend for objects to be used but He spoke of them in the spiritual sense, i.e. to store them in their hearts. We don't have proof of how Israel in Moses' day actually carried out this command.

However, in Jesus' day, the Scribes & Pharisees changed the significance of this observance. Rather than promoting the keeping of God's Laws, they somewhat diverted the focus more onto themselves by making the small 'packets' much, much bigger, as well as making their garment tassels long & more conspicuous. Jesus derided them on their hypocrisy in this & other matters: Matthew 23:1-12. Today, the pious Jews usually wear their phylacteries, or tefillin, during prayer times only, so as to observe the commandment.

I do not understand Deuteronomy 6:8 where it says: And thou shalt bind them for a sign upon thine hand,....

I think they are referring to the commandments expressed in chapter 5.

I need help and clarification on how to: "bind them for a sign upon thine hand.

Any help would be appreciated. God Bless.

It shows in Genesis, when God concluded creating, He called all that had been created VERY GOOD. No mistakes.

You have to realize we are living in a Designer World. I am not mocking. Satan thinks he has you for keeps. He doesn't think you'll dare go to God and ask forgiveness for ALL sins (not just the surgery).

We see now on tv, people who become very depressed afterwards, mostly because their parents can't forget the baby they brought home from the hospital and nurtured.

Some transgenders commit suicide because of that spirit of rejection that comes in and makes his home in those people. Holding on to that soul with its claws hoping to take it to hell.

But people are able to come to their senses (Repent) and ask God to forgive and save their immortal souls.

Jesus died for all of humanity, from Genesis until now. No life was counted as not worthy. God so loved the WORLD...

Even now God stands ready to welcome those who receive His Son Jesus, as Savior and Lord; and be born again. John 3

Jesus gave us all He had.

Satan loses ownership of your immortal soul. The only way you can enforce your freedom from the darkness is to massively consume Gods Word, the Bible. There is NOW no condemnation to those who are (hid) in Christ Jesus.

The world system does not want anyone to get freed from it. The only lives that matter are the ones whose name is recorded in THE LAMBS BOOK of LIFE.

If you have to choose...choose Jesus. In heaven you will receive a NEW TRANSFORMED body and a white robe of righteousness.

Open the link above and read John 3 now.

Back at this websites link page; scroll down until you see Become A Christian, and take the steps. Believe what God says about himself and His Son.

It seems that some children do get seizures after some of the Immunization injections. Seizures of course affect the brain, And that is the source, I would say, of autism and or Sids In those children. If something affects the brain, it may produce fear in that person, and that would Comply with What I call the mechanism of development for Autism. Of course, if it is an infant, we will get SIDS.

In regard to the 666 thing and making a vaccination, that is interesting. Quote fromTheo - in Reply on Leviticus 19 luciferase is a real enzyme that produces bioluminescence and the Microsoft patent relating to commerce is WO2020060606A1

My understanding is that when you apply for a paten; the number is given by the government; but it seems to me that number is more than a coincidence as it involves the number 666 at this time; and that is not a good thing.

I enjoy your reading your comments and all of the discussions; but i am a little old now with a few headaches and a lack of energy and all i want is peace and quiet and rest and to live a long and peaceful life maube to be the oldest person in th world, a good cook with healthy foods who eats junk bars..

I can find several of my comments and so I may redo them s they were te easy ones to do; and my eye site is improving. I like to read my small bible, new testament. I may message some otf it as it is easy to do.....etc....I have 600 characters left......

Roberta, the Bible does permit us to eat meat, if we wish to. The first recorded permission to do so in found in Genesis 9:1-4. However, the caveat on that was that they were allowed to eat the flesh but not the blood. It isn't clear on that requirement - it may have later implications as the heathen used the blood of animals as part of their diet.
  • Mishael on 1 Timothy 43 - In Reply on Leviticus 19:26 - 4 years ago
I you're not sure if Christians can EAT MEAT or GET MARRIED, then you will be much enlightened to read, 1 Timothy 4:3,

Society will forbid people to marry, and commanding to abstain from eating meats.

I highly recommend that you read all of 1 Timothy chapter 4, because it concerns what is happening in the last days, obviously. SOCIETY will try to dictate what people should do or not do.

Insane stuff, like teach human anatomy and sexuality to 6 yr old small children!!! Teach homosexuality and lesbianism to public school children who have no clue what that is. Age appropriate, people!

iF those children have attained accountability (knowing good versus evil) and they decide to jump on that bandwagon ? WHO is going to tell them that choices can send them to hell.

Have a godly opinion about this and tell SOCIETY, through your American blood purchased right to VOTE .... Not My Child!!!

City powers are not telling us what to do; it's the Antichrist crowd screaming for more blood. On the phone 24/7 logging in complaints. Get involved. Make your own calls.

Selah. (Pause and think on these things)

Thanks for that info Bob. Lucky for me I don't use snopes. I don't know much about snopes. I was just curious about your post that mentioned something with Lucifer in part of the name so I just did a browser search and scrolled until I saw that name and clicked it. It just so happened to be snopes. I'm not even sure why I went there. I try not to get too caught up in the things of this world. There is a lot of craziness going on and I think it causes us to get distracted, which in turn takes our minds off Christ.
  • Bob Hilt - In Reply on Leviticus 19 - 4 years ago
Jesse - snopes seems to me to be antichrist to the core. Snopes also says there is no mercury in vaccines. they do not call it mercury, since they call it Thimerosal, which is a mercury based preservative. I would post the link to the CDC website proving Thimerosal mercury, but this would not post it. Google this: cdc thimerosal

read the article carefully. then look up mercury poisoning symptoms and then look up autism symptoms.

Would the devil want to poison our children? Is it our job to protect them?

Who is the father of lies?

Snopes also says Saran Silverman never said anything offensive about being glad Jews killed Jesus.

Yet youtube has her on stage saying exactly that. youtube search this: sarah silverman "I would kill Christ again"

snopes is full of something and it is not truth.
  • Theo - In Reply on Leviticus 19 - 4 years ago
Snopes' material is misleading, luciferase is a real enzyme that produces bioluminescence and the Microsoft patent relating to commerce is WO2020060606A1 (the mark of the beast also relates to commerce). Robert F. Kennedy Jr recently alleged that Bill Gates' vaccination programme has resulted in the maiming or death of many children.
  • Chris - In Reply on Leviticus 19 - 4 years ago
Bob, Jesse is correct. Recently, Bill Gates was interviewed about this very matter on Stephen Colbert's show. In that interview, he vehemently denied being involved in any such implant research/work. In fact, Bill laughed off such a suggestion as ridiculous & which smacked of ultra-right wing propaganda.

However, the technology is there & so such an implant could in fact be 'ushered' in for a completely different reason. Remember, how Christians became suspicious with the introduction of the Credit Card? Many refused then, & some today I suspect, of using a 'satanic inspired medium' for business. Or, even the Bar Code we see on all our products, that all have the 666 digits evenly spaced in the code line? Nothing happened, but I see that these are all steps to more development & worse still, society's acceptance of what is 'normal, acceptable progression in the modern world'. Once accepted by society as a much needed tool for achieving a purpose, then it becomes a small matter for the Anti-Christ to use existing technology to promote his brand of despotism & control over all governments & their citizens. We have a choice now to use credit cards, the internet, & others ways for governments & others to access all the information they want about us, but the day will come, when there won't be a choice: it will be, "receive the mark & live or die as an outcast from society".
  • Jesse - In Reply on Leviticus 19 - 4 years ago
Bob, I just checked on Snopes and it says this is a false conspiracy theory that is going around about Bill Gates. I don't know how much you trust Snopes, but they are saying this is false. I Just thought I'd share that with you.

  • Mishael in MARK OF THE BEAST on Leviticus 19 - 4 years ago
Reply to Mike: I pray a lot. I ask questions of the Holy Spirit. I wait in His presence for answers or scriptures pertinent to prayer. I think our prayer lives need to be deeper and our dependence on the Holy Spirit; to teach us, comfort us, calm our fears, and be willing to go deeper into the knowledge of who Jesus is in our lives. Lives that extend outward to family, friends and neighbors.

    The World.

The Holy Spirit said years ago, that the Mark of the Beast will not be by trickery, non-disclosure by medical people, school administrators, etc.

It will be a conscious decision by each individual; older children too.

I was concerned when there were stories in media about people having debit implants put in their bodies. I don't know if they accepted the mark. Maybe it's a way for people to get accustomed to other ways to access their funds?

People are kinda being wooed with methods.

People left on earth with stock piles of food can get along temporarily,

BUT when the One World Money system functions: I believe people will HAVE to take the Mark of Antichrist and worship him as God, to live a little while longer until the Return of Jesus Christ with His armies to defeat Antichrist, False Prophet and Satan.

Unfortunately, people who took the Mark of the Beast, will go with them. No amount of begging will save them.

People who refused the Mark for the testimony of Jesus Christ, will be tortured and executed. Their souls will be taken to heaven.

People who hid out in the hills and managed to survive the Tribulation without taking the Mark, and who became Born Again, will be taken to heaven.

My plea with everyone reading this: Make your decision now while being born again is easier. Be humble and truthful and receive forgiveness for your sins. God already knows about them. Take hold of Jesus with all your strength and find the LOVE you always longed for: a dream that becomes a reality. Never recant. Never look backwards!

Someone sent this article to me and I am not saying this is the 666 mark of the beast.

however this guy is not a Christian natural news Mike Adams

Enzyme that will make Bill Gates' vaccine microchip implant work known as LUCIFERASE

" Part of the plan for vaccination against the Wuhan coronavirus (COVID-19) is to inject people with syringes that contain implantable "quantum dot" tattoos, which we reported are a type of microchip that would seem to constitute the Mark of the Beast. And further proof of this comes in the form of the enzyme that Bill Gates has chosen to make it all possible, which has been ominously dubbed "luciferase."

According to reports, luciferase will activate these quantum dot "microneedles," as they are also called, effectively delivering the so-called vaccines into people's bodies. This "near infrared bioluminescence enzyme luciferase" is what will make the Gates vaccines readable through special mobile device apps that will scan the injection site and identify the "digital certificates," or proof of vaccination, that Gates and others have been publicly announcing in recent days."

Implantable Microsoft digital ID microchip bears the patent #060606

funny how they are pushing this

These were the laws given to Moses for the Jews before Christ, although Jesus did say these laws were good, and didn't come to take them away but fulfill them, they shows us God , but Christ gave us the new laws to love thy Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind, and to love your neighbor as yourself. Jesus is our passover Lamb if we believe in Him and that God the Father sent him , repent of our ways we shall die but live

Unlike others I have not come to debate. I find it strange and noteworthy that the passage describes a custom that was so obscure for so long that we use a Polynesian loanword to describe it. But look to the old King James where it could also mean do not draw on your body with ink that will wash off. Here I must trust the translator's insight.
