Jesus had some secrets that he did not reveal about the kingdom, that it wd come as a birth via a seed in mankinds hearts, but it was hid from the wise and prudent but revealed unto babes, the babes are spritual babes that are gonna be BORN in US ( THE HEAVENLY BIRTH ) Ya gotta realize there is a Child coming that is gonna be born in US via his seed,it was not even revealed unto the disciples at that time,When they argued amongest themselves which was gonna be the greatest Jesus took a lil child and set him in their mists, it was prophetic that he is gonna put a Child in our mists in our hearts which is the H.G. and that is who is the greatest but that was the secret our new innerman which answers to the NEW BIRTH,THAT NEW CREATURE. Neither circumcision nor uncircumcision impling neither jew nor gentile but a new creature which is the H.G. That is new to us but is Old being he was with GOD b/f the world was.Out of their hearts they shall bring forth things new and old thats our new innerman that new creature but is really old since he was preordained b/f the world was.We were all born by the will of some man its only our new innerman that is born by the will of God,not a flesh and blood but a spritual being his name sake. Who is my Mother them that hear the word/seed and keeps it that will initiate a birth of Christ in us thus we are his mother spritually speaking. She brought forth a man child that is gona rule all nations, humanity is that woman that is gonna birth Christ in our hearts and minds thus he is truly the Son of Man ( mankinds fruit unto God ) My lil children of whom i travail in birth till Christ is formed in you. gbu

Jesus is God, but he is praying to God the Father, his Father in heaven, to help him in his agonies

Revelation 13:8 And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the (Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.)

    Romans 3:25 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through (faith in his blood), to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;

Jesus forgave sins before he shed his blood, The Son of man hath power to forgive sins.

If we are washed or if we are forgiven its through the name of Jesus. We agree

Yes, this is a different Herod than the 1 who ordered the killing of all the infant boys in and around Bethlehem. Most likely, this Herod was a descendent of the earlier Herod.

How precious was the faith of the ex- malefactor who became a believer. By not fighting back when attacked we could lead someone to Christ by living a righteousness life.
  • Stan jett on Luke 23 - 5 years ago
Herod died when Jesus was just a baby. This must be another Herod.
  • Helen on Luke 23 - 5 years ago
If there was no shedding of the blood of Jesus, there will be no remission of our sins. And because Jesus died, justification is granted to all who live by faith in Him. Ever living, gracious and merciful interceding for us before our heavenly father. May we remain faithful unto the end, serving Christ in holiness and righteouness all the days of our lives through the help of the Holy Spirit.

You all have good arguments..... But "time" is relevant on earth but not in eternity. Jesus is the resurrection and the life. He said he that believeth though he were dead yet shall he live, and he that liveth and believeth in me shall never die. He that hath the Son hath life and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. We will see the great "I Am"

"And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom." This man had eyes to see beyond the present realities, and the facts done, to the eternal realms that preside over time. He understood that whatever men do in this life it could not hinder Christ from His eternal glory and purpose for coming into the world. As long as we have breath we can be of the truth and repent.

"..And the voices of them and of the chief priests prevailed. And Pilate gave sentence that it should be as they required." Thus it has continued to this day, and so the wicked are embolden to fill the world with their wicked ways, and pursue their fantasies and perverted imaginations of a world without God and without His Anointed. Psalm 2 describes this that has been in the world since Cain.

"And the same day Pilate and Herod were made friends together: for before they were at enmity between themselves." How does one become friends with someone so vile and unrepentant as Herod? And that, especially over the matter of the judgment of what to do about Jesus, and how is delivered up without cause by the who hate Him and want to ill Him without cause!

"And one of the malefactors which were hanged railed on him, saying, If thou be Christ, save thyself and us. But the other answering rebuked him, saying, Dost not thou fear God, seeing thou art in the same condemnation?" This is a 'death cross' confession, for before that utterance, both reviled Jesus, Matt 27:44 and Mark 15:32. Check it out...you'll see the man repented after reviling Jesus...

"And the whole multitude of them arose, and led him unto Pilate. And they began to accuse him, saying, We found this fellow perverting the nation, and forbidding to give tribute to Caesar, saying that he himself is Christ a King." It has ever been the devil and his seed who have lied and accused and made war against the Lord Jesus Christ and always persecute the children of God. ( Genesis 3:15)

"For if they do these things in a green tree, what shall be done in the dry?" When Jesus warned His enemies that their hatred and hostility that they were spreading among the people was blasphemy of the Spirit that would never be forgiven; or when they stirred up the crowds to violence and demanding Jesus' crucifixion; did any of them feel sorry or change their wicked minds in the centuries since?

Verse 7: Pilate did not want to pass judgment on Jesus because he found no fault in him. He sent him back to Herod so that he didn't have to deal with the situation.

Mark 16:1 And when the sabbath was past, Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James, and Salome, had bought sweet spices, that they might come and anoint him.
Mark 16:2 And very early in the morning the first day of the week, they came unto the sepulchre at the rising of the sun.
The women viewed the sepulchre and the body of Jesus on the preparation day (Friday evening before sunset)

    V. 56 - " ... and rested the Sabbath day ... "; this was still the dispensation under the law. The New covenant didn't begin until Jesus ascension. Actually there was a space of time when several things happened that signaled the end of O.T. law: Jesus' crucifixion, the vail rent (that vail was 4" thick btw, Jesus appeared after 3 says, etc.

Jesus Christ gave up his life for us when he died on the cross for us sinners
We now as Christians have to carry our cross in Jesus name.

  • Markie on Luke 23 - 9 years ago
Um Michael what are you talking about? The angles didn 't just simply retrieve Jesus 's dead lifeless body. Christ spirit left his body when he died on the cross then that spirit went back into his body 3 days later. That is a resurrection... a once dead body brought back to life. He was seen walking and preaching and even eating in that body after he resurrected then I think 40 days layer he ascended into heaven. How is that like a parent getting their child 's dead body to bury at home? And btw Christ is king.

specially these last 25 30 years i see and feel the dryness in everything, there was a time when people were concerned and cared for others, But now i see the third floor partying while ground floor someone has expired. there was a time when the wife would mourn a husbands death for a year and more, but now you see her in someone else s arms within a month or two. there was a time when parents were cared till the last breath, but now they are sent to the old age home on the first sign of sickness is this is not the dry wood situation that Christ was talking about.
  • Tapiwa Mabhaudhi on Luke 23:34 - 9 years ago
In earthly courts ignorance is no defence, but we see a high Priest slain his blood is defying all odds. In all the ignorance of the crucifiers the Lord is interceeding for them even if they did this through ignorance. There is no sin too strong for this special blood of the Lamb. Just receive him today stay blessed
