why did God chose Elijah and Moses to appear to Jesus instead of other prophets
  • A. L. Roach on Luke 9:17 - 10 years ago
We as Christian must feed the hungary by our own labors/money & miracles as Jesus & the 12 disciples did!
  • A.L. Roach on Luke 9:11 - 10 years ago
Jesus took His disciples privately to the desert & still the people knew it & followed Him & He preached the kingdom of God & Healed All that needed Healing. To me The Kingdom of God is LOVE & in Heaven there exists No SICKNESS. We as Christians must DO the same TODAY!
  • Albert L. Roach on Luke 9:6 - 10 years ago
"Jesus Christ[& His disciples of all ages]are the same yesterday, today & forever." We Christian[ALL]are to preach the Gospel & Heal everywhere & everyone!
  • Robert on Luke 9 - 10 years ago
Jesus is being prepared for Jerusalem by his heavenly father. He needed comfort and he was received by Moses and Elijah to see things finished.
  • Robert on Luke 9 - 10 years ago
Jesus is becoming more and more recognized. He is also becoming more of a problem of the Sadducees and the Pharisees.
  • Nanzy on Luke 9:27 - 11 years ago
I read online that in 3 of the Gospels, Jesus' words were followed by the transfiguration. Before I read this, I re-read the Bible's previous veres to read of how many of his disciples to whom he spoke. I thought perhaps he meant that seeing the kingdom of God referred to his death (and immediate ensuing events) applied to some, but not all, of the disciples. In this case, I thought he meant at least 1 disciple-Judas- would not live to see the kingdom of God.I have not done much reading about it , which is why I did an online search.

    Was the best verse
  • Nolan weigh on Luke 9:23 - 11 years ago
This text tell me that I must deny the world that is the flesh/worldly possessions and follow Jesus(the church). To take up your cross is to adhere to your responsibilities as a house priest. To lead your family in righteousness and to do the will of God. Stay within the rules and regulations of your church which is their to protect you.
  • Calvin on Luke 9 - 11 years ago
Vs. 23 To take up your cross daily, is to walk as Jesus walked, to talk as Jesus talked, to love as Jesus loved, to have comp***ion s Jesus have comp***ion, to forgive as Jesus forgives, to suffer long as Jesus long for us, to be forbearing to your neighbors as Jesus is forbearing to you, you get the picture? It also means that we are to believe and RECIEVE what Jesus did on the CROSS FOR US.Jesus message in ch 9 is liken unto other messages that you will find in all the PARABLES in Matt., Mark, and LUKE, also ch 5 of Matt. For example; we are commanded to love those who hate us, bless those who curse us, pray for those who use us and percecute us. This command goes against the grain doesn't it? you need the HOLY SPIRIT DWELLING IN YOU IN ORDER TO DO THIS, THE SPIRIT OF THE LIVING GOD. The Bible tells us that if we don't have the spirit of God dwelling in you, you are none of His.

My dog typed in 9*26 and I will read today. It's another beautiful day outside as well. I am grateful to have stumbled on this. I was considering starting an anti-depressant- again. I may try reading instead. I feel good. Don't know what this 9:26 means to me yet. Everyone...read if you can and to others!

  • Evangalist sanders on Luke 9:23 - 11 years ago
Follow Jesus daily, there will be times when things are not right, and you know this is not God’s way for you; yet still trust God in all ways, the good, the bad and the ugly.
  • Teddy on Luke 9:23 - 11 years ago
I believe that this verse has not yet been fully understood. To say come after me, and then say follow me is redundant. After much meditation and prayer about this particular scripture, it was revealed to me by the Holy Spirit, that what our Lord is saying is "if any man will be my successor in the earth, let him deny himself and live as I lived".
  • Jay on Luke 9 - 11 years ago
@ doris comment on verse 28-36: 1. these verses is giving the reader a glimpse at the great tribulation period and 2nd advent as we find in mathew 17:1-13. 2. these two witnesses can also be found in revelation 11:3-12. 3. as you read the revelation account of these witnesses you will notice verse 6 will give a detail description of identification of who they are from the old testament account of the miracles they performed. 4. in revelation 11:4 the 2 olive trees represents the miracle of eternal life (olive oil=holy spirit), and the 2 candlesticks represents the true church ( revelation 1:20) that is responsible for giving out the gospel of salvation.

I am leaving in a single room with my wife and our two sons,as much as the room is very small to fit our family, Luke 9:58 is one of the verses in the Bible that give me courage on how my Lord left his glory in heaven and came on earth to be homeless that i may have a home to belong(Heaven)and a room to stay, yet he had no were to lay his head. Dear friend, have you yet come to Jesus for Salvation? For he said except a man be born again,he can not see the kingdom of heaven( John 3:3).You must be born again.
  • Doris Early on Luke 9:30 - 13 years ago

they departed (meaning you need to go out to the people and don't be a home body person), going out to the towns, (not just their neighborhood) healing everywhere (whereever they were led and to whomever believed on the power of healing). Healing is a miracle that can't be explained by any person including physicians. They will be astonished because it doesn't line up with science or theory. Amen to God.

I think of this scripure is to not to think of yourself anymore than you used to,living the life with JESUS TAKING UP THE CROSS is letting GOD know that you really need him,and that you are ready to live the life that he has given you proving yourself that you can do all things through Christ that strengthen you.
