I believe praying should be genuine and come from the heart. I think it should not be selfish or materialistic. I think ones motives should be pure in the prayer request, because we are not supposed to follow the world or its riches, but follow Jesus and seek our treasures in heaven, not on Earth. Matthew 6:19-20. God says we can ask for anything through faith- it should be through love too. 1 Corinthians 13:2, Matthew 21:21-22.
Given that info, I think it's ok to privately pray to be able to pay your debts and bills and for job increases and to tithe to help others. I would be careful praying for material possessions, however, because where is the heart? What is the motive? Is the goal to built treasures on Earth or in heaven?
someone asked for Luke 21:12 be explained;I think that verse 12 is a carry over from verse 11 where Jesus was describing events immediately preceding the end of the age.Verse 12 begins with,But before all these things.....I believe that verses 12 to 24 describes the period between the time of the discourse and future Tribulation Period. His Disciples would be arrested, persecuted, tried before religious and civil powers, and imprisoned.
,It could have felt like failure and tragedy to the Disciples, but GOD overruled it to make it a testimony for His glory. They did not have to prepare their defense in advance. In their hour of crisis they were not to worry about what to say, because GOD said:settle it in your minds not to meditate before hand how to answer, for I give you a mouth and wisdom, which none of your adversaries will be able to withstand or contradict.I believe that when that day if it ever appears in our Christian lives,we will stand fast in our faith and never deny, our belief in GOD,because He will give us what we will say.But as far as the rapture, verse 12 is not speaking of this.Read verses 6 thru 11 you will understand what verse 12 is saying.
Bradley, Malachi, as you suggest, speaks of Israel's sins & coming judgement (vv 1-7). Then the question is asked in the latter part of v 7: "But ye said, Wherein shall we return?" That is, the people ask, "How (or, in what manner) shall we return?", "How have we robbed You?" In tithes & offerings.
They were clearly robbing God by living careless, wicked lives, & in so doing this had a cumulative effect by not paying the right wages, lack of support to the widows & orphans & showing no care to the visitor. So the issue of robbery, God declares, is that you people have added to your wicked deeds, by even robbing me by not doing what has been commanded, viz in tithes & offerings. And verse 10 clarifies this even further to their giving, despite any hardship in doing so, as they would experience God's abundant blessings as a result.
You state that this passage actually speaks about giving God praise, acknowledging His Glory & Mercy. And this would be the expected response if the people turned away from doing wickedly, but to read this chapter in its context, one can't help but observe that they were not able to give the sacrifice of praise to God, simply because of their many sins, of which their robbery to God was evident. What I would question of the present day interpretation of this passage is the necessity of the giving of tithes, which is an Old Testament mandate, but I could not see in the passage what you are seeing there. You could give your further explanation on your view, if you care to.
Clearly this chapter is often misinterpreted. He is not upset that they were not bringing their tithes of money, He was upset that they were not giving him his PRAISE. Clearl;y its stated that they have turned away from God, this was not about money, it was about acknowledgement of the Glory and Mercy of God. Yet, we continue to preach it all wrong.
imo we need this lake of fire its simply a lake of Sprits as our God is a consuming fire but God is also spirit. The writter describes it as a cleasing soap thats God as Jesus said your are made CLEAN by the word ( the living word which is God ) We know that the living word is God its not a literal fire had it been a literal fire Jesus wd have rebuked james and john when they wanted to call fire down from heaven and destroy the samaritans its simply a H.G. FIRE WHICH IS SPIRIT AS THE H.G. IS SPIRIT BUT IT'S ALSO A JUDGEMENTAL FIRE.Whom the lord loveth he chastises aka as judgement. This H.G. fire is gonna judge us simply b/c he is the living WORD Jesus says the words that i have spoken shall judge you in that last day ya remember the h.g fell on them that heard his Words his breath etc. no matter how ya slice it.The manchild is gonna rule all the world for only 1 purpose to destroy Gods enemy which is our carnal minds in rank with satan thus his baptism of fire and the H.G. We cannot enter his kingdom with all our lust and our sinful nature. We lust after everything we go a whoring etc We need that lake of fire (BAPTISM of the H.G. ) as malachi is saying. Thats y jesus said i come to bring fire ( h.g fire ) on the earth meaning our hearts and minds in exchange we get a new heart and a new spirit.gbu
Doth not Malachi portray what will happen to any house that forsakes Keeping the Commandments Exodus 20 and Walking in the Statutes Leviticus 20 . Did not the chosen ZION perform idolatry Which breaks the first four commandments and is also unto covetness. Nay means Nay to spiritual death...albeit dead is spiritual death...dead bury the dead means none wilt naught affiliate with the dead.
I understand now why a lot of people are poor, including myself, when God bless us because we are doing his will, the spirit comes that we are doing it, and not the spirit of God. Regardless of how we feel about the churches we need to pay our tithes and let God be the judge between you and them. Read Proverbs 10, and keep believing.
What a beautiful chapter this is The messenger of the covenant is the H.G. his spritual fire and judgement we need. ANSWERS TO I WILL BAPTISE YOU WITH THE H.G. AND FIRE AS OUR GOD IS A CONSUMING FIRE THAT IS GONNA CONSUME OUR EVIL ADAMIC NATURE HE IS GONNA BE AS A REFINERS FIRE AND FULLERS SOAP THAT WE MIGHT PRAISE HIM IN SPIRIT N TRUTH OUTTA OF THE MOUTHS OF BABES AND SUCKLINGS perfected PRAISE.
The first death is physical and is separation of the body from the spirit.
The second death, unbelievers are cast into the lake of fire and eternally separated from God. Genesis 16-17; 5:5
Anonymous Mike; I thought what you wrote was wonderful. But why did you conclude by writing, "I only say, never do this unless ur church isn't doing right." ??? Any time we want we can be kind and help others! No one needs to wait and see if their church is doing it first! No church is gonna stand up to answer for you before the Judgment Seat. What about when you're at work or at home?
Disciple ty my man but you are not understanding there are 2 of everything in the bible. 2 kinds of GRAVES 2 kinds of death, 2 kinds of life, Jesus said let the dead bury their dead which is spritual death, John said in her was found human life the souls of men which is a spritual grave which answers to religion,Babylon, HE TELLS THE PHARISEES N SCRIBES YOU ARE AS GRAVES THAT APPEAR NOT. GBU
Like I wrote to you before; You have to wait for God to give you understanding of the Scriptures, through proving over time and continuing faithful, learning from Jesus who is meek and lowly in heart. The Lake of Fire IS NOT FOR REFINING AND PURIFYING; but for everlasting destruction of those who will be forever rejected as worthless and bad! The Lake of Fire is for those whom God NO LONGER LOVES!
Jesus said i come to bring fire on the earth meaning on humanity and he said every sacrifice has to be salted with fire which is his baptism of fire that we soo need and every liar ( sinner ) will have their part in the LAKE OF FIRE AND HIS FIRE IS HIS WORD AS JEREMIAH SAID I WILL MAKE THE WORDS IN YOUR MOUTH AS FIRE AND THIS PPL THE WOOD,We be th red heifer that is gonna be consumed to ashes GBU
Imo the LAKE OF FIRE is his Judgement more importantly his love for humanity, even in the natural we chastise our kids b/c we love em Ya gotta realize that our God is consuming fire that is gonna consume our evil Adamic nature Mal 3 says who shall abide the day of his coming, who shall stand when he appears HE SHALL BE AS A REFINERS FIRE AND FULLERS SOAP, i.e his baptism of fire, his love/judgement.
Years ago I decided to take the tithe and give directly to people who were in obvious need, like people whose husbands were killed, kids who were going hungry or malnourished, houses for those with fire losses, people looking for work hitching (2day a car = shoes r camel) so as I did so God caused everything I did to explode in success. I only say, never do this unless ur church isn't doing right.
About malachi 3 . Agree this chapter has been use by some bishop and pastor for them to get rich I say some because all are not robbing the people we must understand when God said bring meat in the storehouse what he as spaking of is giving and taking care of the needed when u help people in need thats tithing if your church help people ok if not don't tithe most churches help no one Amen
Hi Ann; You have sure got that right! But you know? Birds of a feather flock together! How is it that some of us can feel it immediately and are totally convicted to Run for our lives whenever we get around those kinds? while others don't seem to care a thing for ANYTHING that you're talking about! God separates His own from those who are NOT! The times are made by the kind of people of that time.
Not all who are teaching or preaching and not all who prophecy, are called to do so by God.
I do believe whomever God calls to do his work, He will be provided for.
A lot of these pastors are taxing their congregation to meet personal needs and the needs of the church building. They are not helping the orphan, the captive, the widow, the fatherless, etc.
for some self ordained church=quick money
Linus; This is one of the most misused Scriptures in the church world today: "Take heed, and beware of covetousness; for a man's life consists not in the abundance of things he possesses." It would be better to take the position Paul took, and rather work for one's living! 1 Cor. 9:12 "..Nevertheless we have not used this power; but suffer all things, lest we should hinder the gospel of Christ."
Unfortunately, many of the brethren today misunderstand his rebuke. To help you understand, Malachi was not addressing the Christians of today. He was rebuking the House of Israel in his generation for not honoring God's Law. The law of tithing in Malachi's day was sacrificing 10% of their increase,(animals, money, herds and flocks) to be given in support of the families of Aaron and Levi.
I know church folks, who never pay tithes. I wonder what happens to people who go on home to heaven, who never paid tithes? Do you think their may be some laundry to do in heaven?
V.3, " ... the sons of Levi" refers to the pastors of HIS churches. V.5 , " ... to turn away the stranger from his right ... " refers to false teachers teaching lies about God's word and turning these to false beliefs. A 'stranger' is also a gentile, as opposed to a Christian. God has ALWAYS loved strangers, gentiles; He leads us to His truth - to accept or reject.
