Tithe, is God 's command with promise and God is not mocked whatever a man soweth so he shall reap. Practically speaking I have experienced abundance through tithing, I have experienced good health without visiting hospitals for years via tithing, I have experienced peace of mind, success and answered prayers by obeying the Lord through tithing. I have also experienced the opposite by not obeying this principle, and this is because of fear of ability to meet up with other concerns that the Lord says we should cast unto Him for He cares for us all. In a nutshell, I have never seen a man that trade with the Lord and loose, God doesn 't owe us His desire is to meet all our needs according to His riches in glory, remember we are not talking of earthly reward alone, but heavenly treasures, domain where canker-worms, devourer and caterpillars, can 't reach. So I employ people to obey the Lord in everything, because He is the provider of what we possess and moreover we can 't hide anything from Him. Finally also bear in mind that the scripture also says faith without work is dead. The act of paying tithe is a progeny between faith and work -so pay the tithe.

I really love his take on Tithes
  • James on Malachi 3:8 - 9 years ago
I know people want to receive God 's blessings, but giving to God to receive a blessing from God is not the correct attitude of the heart. Also, Malachi 3:8 is speaking to the priests keeping and stealing the tithes from the Levites who had already collected them from the cities of Judah. Only the priests were allowed to stock the storehouses. This is not any easy verse to understand without reasonable knowledge of Levitical Law and the testimony of other minor prophets- Nehemiah in particular. To keep adding to my argument, there is no tithing required in the New Covenant- only in the old the "Law " or Mosaic law . The Apostle Paul clearly stated we are no longer under the law but grace Ro 6:14 . Jesus taught about cheerful giving and giving as a responsibility to support the church as the Lord leads. See Carol 's comment from 2014-02-14 below. She addresses New Covenant giving perfectly.

  • Salako lsaac on Malachi 3 - 9 years ago
Malach urged the people to stop holding back their tithes, to stop cheating God. The tithing system began during the time of Moses. The Levites received some of the tithe because they could not possess land to their own. Mal 3:6-12. During Malachi 's day, the people, were not giving tithes, so the Levites went to work to earn a living, thereby neglecting their God-given responsibilities to care for the Temple and for the service of worship. Lev 27:30-34, Deut 14:22. Numb 18:20,21. Do you selfishly want to keep 100 percent of what God gives,or are you willing to return at least 10 percent to help advance God 's Kingdom?.

Tirthe is not man 's instruction but GOD 'S so let us obey Him.
  • Michelle on Malachi 3:8 - 9 years ago
With all do respect, I gave tithes and my life appeared to worsen. I stopped given the same thing. I also gave offering. All I know is that I did both notice things spiraling downwards. I lost whom I believe was my divine mate, home, money, hair, respect from children due to my relationship with God my faith . I am now giving the 10 5 offering. Life has been hard as I seek a deeper relationship with Yahweh of Host. If done nothing but struggle thus far. I meditate, pray, believe God 's word. I read the bible seeking God to talk to me as He did in the biblical days for "He change no ".....Still waiting expectantly for the windows of of Heaven to open pour out such blessings that there won 't be room enough to store it. Do believe in God, do believe His word is true, however, it 's the time timing He just didn 't say when!

  • Noho Jenkins on Malachi 3:9 - 9 years ago
That there is the creators way of being nice, hopeful and honest, because to be cursed by Gods Devine ruling authority is something man cannot undo, without Gods approval. You will know this by the suffering, unanswered prayers and the bitter taste of your own tears. God in Jesus name forgive me, pardon me for my wrongs and teach me your ways - Amen
  • Rod Raines on Malachi 3 - 9 years ago
Malachi :3 Reminds us of the "IMPORTANCE " of giving, the purging, and purifying of the Son 's of Levi. Simple terms, to get them, "us, " on the right track. The benefits of obedient giving of tithe and offerings. Gen.14:20 Father of the faithful, friend of GOD, Abraham is our first example of tithing. Lev.27:30-32 Num. 18:26 Duet. 14:22 Neh.12:44 Prov.3:9 just a few other examples of giving. "We don 't give to gain... However, we will gain by giving...We can never out give GOD. LUKE 6:38
  • Lilian on Malachi 3 - 9 years ago
God loves a cheerful giver. Tighes and offerings is a symbol of obedience for us to God since God is our supplier and provider Jesus deserves to be praised and be thank. Whatever God gives us we need to give them back to the Lord. Through Jesus the Heavens poured out more blessings to us and cups overflows, his blessings poured not only for ourselves but Jesus poured out his blessig abundantly in order for us to be a blessing to others. We should follow as he commanded us since everything we have is from God. We are nothing without Jesus. Jesus loves us and always confirmed his love and mercy even to the wicked people.
  • Icho Ducao on Malachi 3:10 - 9 years ago
This is the only verse in the bible that God challenged us for abundance,in the equation of prosperity, OBEDIENCE is the only variable which will result to our full satisfaction! so deal with it, do what it says and expect amazing blessings!

I zukile fongoqa I believe in tithe I separate it and it does work for, in order for it time work first you must be a faithful tither not just a tither, meaning that in difficult times you need to separate it. don 't separate it only when you have a lot, even if you have nothing in the last you received be faithful. tithe is the first fruit of every income not the second thing no meaning that don 't go and make some grocery before after you separate tithe no is no longer a tithe is an offering now.

I zukile fongoqa I believe in tithing, I tithe and it does work for me. In order for it to work first, you must be a faithful tither and not just a tither, meaning that in difficult times you need to tithe it. Don't tithe only when you have a lot. Even if you have nothing in the end you still tithe faithfully. Tithing is the first fruit of every income, not the second thing. There is no meaning to tithe with the remaining after doing grocery. When you do that, you are no longer tithing but making an offering.

Malachi 3 10 is one of the amazing promise written in the Bible, word of God, and still applicable on our generation. Proven to those who follow it. "Prove me now herewith saith the Lord of Host.. "

  • Ketrina Msuku on Malachi 3 - 9 years ago
More oftenly do we give tithes, but forget or resent giving offerings. In giving Tithe we are obeying the law but in giving offering we are pouring ourselves out and sacrificing the least we have to the house of God and to the poor.
  • David on Malachi 3:10 - 10 years ago
This is really very simple give God 10 of your income try it and "test Him " to see whether you yourself then receive a blessing. It is all His to begin with if you think about it not yours at all. None of chose where we born, who are parents were, what kind of home we were raised in, or what our physical condition would be. But for the grace of God, we could not have the basic ability to work and earn money. We could face the daily trials of any type of disability or handicap and yet so mnay folks take their health for granted. A tithe means a tenth and was used in reference to money. Time, talents, abilities may be gifts above and beyond but please, if you believe in God, do not steal from Him or withhold your tithe. Beware your adversary and watch diligently for folks who say we are no longer under any obligation to our Creator. "Yea, hath God said.. " were the first words of the serpent in the garden and that has always been the enemy 's main tactic to make us doubt God 's word.

  • E on Malachi 3:10 - 10 years ago
Abraham and Jacob gave tithes for sure to God! There was no church building. I believe it 's important to give to the church but we ate not under any law and God 's children should know whether they gave it to a single mother or whatever good means from your heart He will it. By Jesus Christ and the work of the cross were good! Even in Malachi it was the priest eh stole from God! Please read in context and stop binding up God 's children the work is finished for by grace we have... not of works!!! Eph. 2 8,9 Give to God don 't be under the spirit of condemnation. Please someone show us through His word one place in the NT where tithing specifically to the church is written? I can 't find it. Please let 's love and continue to give but may the church get there foot off the necks of God 's people with this lie!

  • Marjorie on Malachi 3 - 10 years ago
Ask yourselves this, how do you expect your pastor to live or your church to pay its bills? Our pastor is full time, he does not work any job except being a pastor so if people dont pay tithes then he dont get paid! Whatever you make you must pay tithes on including social security! 10 percent is tithes one tenth and half of that is offering 5 percent which pays church bills like utilities, water, etc. I get social security only so I make 1329 a month. I pay 133 tithes and 66.50 offering and anything you give over that is sacrificial giving like missions etc. God expects His people to support the shepard or pastor He puts over them and God also expects us to support the church and help pay bills. If everyone does his or her part then the pastor and the church should be supported just fine. The pastor also pays tithes and offerings, the pastors tithes is suppose to go for outreach like helping the needy and winning souls, everything costs money so ask yourself if everyone pays tithes and offerings like I do will my church survive and my pastor be able to pay his bills or buy food for his family?
  • OLAN on Malachi 3 - 10 years ago
Although the Old Testament The LAW was written for primarily for the Isrealites, there are so many principles in it that transcend right into Christianity e.g Loving God with all your heart and your neighbour as urself . Furthermore, Tithe is one of them. In fact, Jesus wasn 't against paying it as can be proven in His response to the Pharisees in Luke 11 42 " But woe unto you, Pharisees! for you tithe mint and rue and all manner of herbs, and pass over justice and the love of God these ought you to have done, and not to leave the other undone. " .
  • Constance on Malachi 3:8 - 10 years ago
from my understanding of tithes will a man rob God they were talking about the priest they were robbing God.but instead of the pastors saying the bills have to be paid where we fellowship the will use Malachi 3 8 to tried to control the saints of God.How will we be curse if Jesus paid it all on the cross obedience is what will get you to reign with Jesus. You can 't pay your way into heaven. besides the tithes were for the levite they were poor people.i 'm not saying don 't tithes but be lead by the spirit and give with a cherrful heart. but there are 4 types of tithing which one are we gonna used.Tithing Obedience First fruits Alms giving sowing seeds most pastors won 't teach about what the scripture says because if they tell the truth the people may not tithe.
