Praise be to God for Jesus the Christ the son of the Living God! It Is by faith in his death burial and Resurrection there is life!! If we confess with our mouths Jesus is Lord I believe in our heart that God has raised him from the dead we will be saved!! May God grant us change of mind!! Thank you for making this possible to share
verses 46-52 is about Persevarancing Faith of the meek, who uses whatever Resourses ,forsaking objections and Making Specific Request of God in FAITH .
In order to know if God is speaking to you, you must first know God. Being saved is the first step, but you still need to know of God. Know His character, His Truths, His attributes; then you will know if you are hearing from God of the Scripture. John 10: 24-27
True believers can know the Truth, because you've studied the Truth in scripture.
To know counterfeit money, you must study the real money. Then you will be able to know the fake, because you know the true money.
Great questions and they are not irrelevant. Asking is good, it is the motive that may not be good. Many questions asked by the scribes and Pharisees were to try and trap Jesus and not to learn the truth.
Those who died before Jesus' death on the cross, were saved because of their faith in the coming messiah. Romans 4: 3-5, Genesis 3:15, Isaiah 11: 1-3. We look back to the cross, those before us looked forward to the cross.
Those who believe in the Messiah, the Christ will be at the Bema Seat of Christ, 1 Corinthians 3:11-16, Acts 4:10-12
God has always had a way for people of all ages to be saved. Ps 19; Luke 16:27-31
Mankind, as a whole, from the very beginning, are not interested in pursuing TRUTH as much as having HAPPINESS.
Jesus stated this truth about mankind...
"Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and MANY there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and FEW there be that find it." Mat 7:13-14
Jesus came to bring us TRUTH and LIFE and is the ONLY WAY to God and true happiness...
"Jesus saith unto him, I am The WAY, The TRUTH, and The LIFE: no man cometh unto the Father, but by Me."Joh 14:6
Jesus39s Victory over Captivity - In Reply on Mark 10 - 3 years ago
Some believe that while Jesus' body was in the tomb, His spirit was in hell.Scripture doesn't support that position when it is taken in context and we look at the meaning of the word "hell." In the Old Testament, the place of the dead or the place of departed souls was called "SHEOL." It was to this place that all souls of the dead went to await resurrection.
In the New Testament, we find the story of Lazarus and the rich man who both died and went to Hades ( Luke 16:19-31). The KJV translates the Greek word "hades" as hell but most other translations use the Greek word. HADES had two separated parts: Those who died in faith believing in God's promise waited for the resurrection in Abraham's Bosom. Those who died spiritually separated from God wait in torment for the resurrection unto death, eternal separation from God. The rich man was on the torment side and Lazarus was in ABRAHAMS BOSOM which was called "PARADISE" by the LORD Jesus Christ himself when He addressed the thief who found faith the day Jesus was crucified ( Luke 23:42-43)
For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment" ( 2 Peter 2:4). The word translated "HELL" here is not the Greek word "HADES" but is the Greek word "TARTARUS" meaning ABYSS or the lowest regions. This could very well be the "gulf" that was fixed between the PLACE OF TORMENT and Abraham's Bosom ( Luke 16:26).
Wherefore He saith, When He ascended up on high, He led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men. (Now that He ascended, what is it but that He also descended first into the lower parts of the earth? He that descended is the same also that ascended up far above all heavens, that He might fulfill all things" ( Ephesians 4:8-10). Leading captivity captive seems to refer to Jesus taking all those that waited in Paradise to heaven to be with Him. The descending into the "lower parts"refers to Jesus mission of declaring Victory!
What will happen to those that lived and died before Christ's sacrifice? What will they do when they stand before God? How will they be saved, or will they? I'm sorry if I'm asking irrelevant questions, but I really would like to know the answer if anyone has one.
It is my belief that when Jesus was in the tomb, He went back in time and gave those people a chance to choose at that time.
Hearing the Holy Spirit speak - In Reply on Mark 10 - 3 years ago
Jesus went to the Cross to bring the Holy Spirit to us on the Day of Pentecost. He is the Spirit of Christ. He does many things to grow us up into the likeness of Jesus.
He speaks in the still, small voice to those who are tuned into His voice. I hear him near my heart or right ear.
1 Corinthians 12, teaches us on spiritual gifts. It says to desire the best gifts. The Holy Spirit gives the gifts as He wills. Verse 11. I think the best gift is the one you need most at a given moment.
Is that sabbath is the only day we should enter the temple of God. in other words sabbath is only day we should go to church and not any other day of the week
What will happen to those that lived and died before Christ's sacrifice? What will they do when they stand before God? How will they be saved, or will they? I'm sorry if I'm asking irrelevant questions, but I really would like to know the answer if anyone has one.
First of all, in 1 John Chapter 2 Verse 2, it says that Jesus Christ is the propitiation, or satisfaction for our sins, and He has died for the sins of the whole world. Everybody! He died for the sins of the whole world.
Every human being, when they stand before God on their appointed time, they will not have to answer for their sins. Jesus died to forgive the sins of the world.
However, what they will have to answer for is what did you do? How did you respond when the Holy Spirit came to you and testified to you about Jesus Christ? What did you do?
Blaspheming means to express rejection.
In John Chapter 16 Verses 8 to 11, Jesus says that when the Holy Spirit comes, after He ascends up into heaven, the Holy Spirit will convict the world of sin, of righteousness, and of judgment.
So when the Holy Spirit comes and convicts somebody of their sin, and of the righteousness that can only be found in Jesus Christ, and if they reject Him, they will be judged for their sins.
If they reject that conviction and that testimony, they have committed blasphemy against the Holy Spirit. It is the only sin that a person cannot be forgiven for, the rejection of Christ!
If you chase this all the way to the end one will end up with the scripture.,. "Where sin abounds, grace abounds more." The fact is that YOU, by The Sacrifice of Christ, and ALL that it means In being born again, are free. Free as if you completed everything, in life and all that it entails, by The Holy Walk of Jesus. As if you did it yourself! Otherwise nobody could be saved! Believe In His Sacrifice as enough to cover your sin- past, iniquity past, present and ALL that you will ever do. Nothing can pluck you from His Hand because it is established in Love. Not your definition of Love but His! Understand this and the power of sin falls away because the law is completely fulfilled for you! The curse of sin is broken in this way. Any other belief is a mix between the law (works) and the perfect law of liberty provided by Christ. Be free first! Doesn't mean you have to leave to be free! You can be free if you don't receive condemnation from man in any way (this is what is hard)(believe what God says not man). If God says that you are forgiven, you are forgiven period. He will never force you to Love Him. You are free. Treat your spouse the same And it's the best juxtaposition before God. From this place just believe in His Sacrifice, be willing to change and He will work everything to your good because you care enough to die to your opinion and experience and live in the freedom of What Jesus Christ has provided. Set those who you Love Free! The sin that transpired and transpires from your situation will be exposed and all parties will Actually have a choice. Otherwise it is control. Let us break our control mechanisms that so easily align with our chosen scripture and let The Holy Spirit lead in freedom.
I don't know about you but I never wanted to force my wife, family or anyone else to Love and stay with me. Praise God, who is Love, for He keeps no record of wrong. Lord help us to do the same In Jesus' Name. Love Joe, (Formally in the past, chief among sinners.)
1 Corinthians 3:15: "If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire."
There is no inference to a 'purgatory' here. Purgatory as understood from the Roman Catholic teaching is: ""purification, so as to achieve the holiness necessary to enter the joy of heaven". When a departed soul is 'not quite there yet' to make it to Heaven, because of some sin(s) preventing him, he needs to be in a place (a purgatory) of further thought & purification (a purging of sins) prior to his release. This is NOT in Scripture, it is RC teaching. And it's this type of teaching, even amongst non-RCs, that give a false impression that there will be a second chance at attaining Heaven & eternal life.
The verse you cite, speaks of a believer already in Heaven ("in that day" standing before God) when the revealing fire of God will try "every man's work, of what sort it is". We are saved by faith in the finished Work of Christ on the Cross, but what we have done in our faith & with our faith will come under Divine Scrutiny.
Some will finish their course well, having saving faith plus a life that has been a blessing to many & works done for the extension of God's Kingdom (i.e. works of value: gold, silver or precious stones). Others, will "still be saved, yet so as by fire" (i.e. he has done little or nothing by his faith = wood, hay or stubble, which are easily burned), but on the merits of his faith & Christ's Work for Him, he will get to Heaven "by the skin of his teeth", so to speak. See 1 Peter 4:18: "And if the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear?" Let's not be content to "just getting into Heaven", but to live the Christian life & doing the things, that gives us an "abundant entrance".
So, yes, our 'dead works' will be burned up, but not in purgatory (which doesn't exist), but burned because it has not added to the community of believers, to the world without hope, or to God's Kingdom.
Praise the Lord Jesus Christ
Hebrews 12:14. Follow peace with all men and Holiness without which NO MAN shall see the Lord.

1st resurrection consists of those souls that "died in Christ".
2nd resurrection after the 1,000 years is for everyone else.
