  • Vanessa on Mark 10 - 6 years ago
it is easier for the eye of a camel to go through a needle then a rich man, you only need enough to get through this life the riches we should seek are in heaven, feed the poor, funny today we want to take everything from the poor, what hypocrites have we leaders we pick want to deny them when they themselves are rich, I pray for them
  • Only me on Mark 10 - 6 years ago
Looking to Jesus as my guide, I find it hard to give up "riches". I fight daily to remind myself, if everlasting life is what I seek, then it is in His word I must follow. His word is what guides me. Others my question my intent, but as long as I believe that God is the Good Master of my life and strive to follow the teachings of Jesus, I need not worry about what happens at the pearly gates. Amen
  • Dewey J on Mark 10 - 6 years ago
Seeingtruth, Jesus is referring to God's favor to his people by blessing them in every way in this world. Especially with material things the people of this world will envy us and seek to abuse or persecute us which will always remind us that although we are materially favored we are still not with Jesus in his kingdom. 2 Cor. 4:4 Glory be to God!
  • BSP on Mark 10 - 6 years ago
Verses 1, 2, 10, 13, 17~Jesus was approachable. We must do our best to develop this quality. We want to be accessible. Maintain warm, joyful, and friendly facial expressions.
  • Mark on Mark 10 - 6 years ago
It's pretty straight forward.Christianity is no bed of rose here on earth. It is a must that we shall be provoked and harassed (persecution). We are not above our Master,it is enough that He made us equal to Him.So if He was persecuted, so shall we. We can't experience the fulness of heaven on earth. The things mentioned in this verse are not necessarily what we will OWN, but what we have access
  • A disciple on Mark 10 - 6 years ago
"..Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or brethren...for my sake, and the gospel's, but he shall receive an hundredfold now in this time...with persecutions; and in the world to come eternal life." True repentance and a thoroughgoing conversion means also an abandoning of all our past ways and worldly relations; which causes persecution. We now have a new life and family.
  • Seekingtruth on Mark 10 - 6 years ago
    what does this mean?
But he shall receive an hundredfold now in this time, houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, ((with persecutions )); and in the world to come eternal life.

    what does with persecutions mean?
  • BSP on Mark 10 - 6 years ago
Verses 21, 22: The man had asked what he must do to gain everlasting life. He was unwilling to give up material possessions for everlasting life. We must guard against becoming attached to any material possessions.
  • Servant of God on Mark 10 - 6 years ago
It is rare when a paragraph of doctrine is repeated as was those who trust in riches cannot follow Jesus in the way. Look and see those on the world stage who corruptly seek after riches and how they are diminished spiritually, even given over to the Devil. Have you eyes to see, ears to hear. To follow Jesus in the way requires a single mindedness that does not allow wavering, nor coveting
  • A disciple on Mark 10 - 6 years ago
Having never come from a rich family, or any kind of upbringing that would push me to pursue riches; I've always seen through it to a great extent...it has no pull with me! Even putting that type of thing on a level of "worldliness in general" doesn't it make you feel like you're drying up inside and your heart dead to the Lord and spiritual things and holiness and FAITH? I'd avoid those thoughts!
  • Eutychus on Mark 10 - 6 years ago
Vs 24, Jesus said, "Children, how hard is it for them that trust in riches to enter into the kingdom of God!"

Tell me...can one HAVE riches, and yet not TRUST in riches? How hard a thing that would seem to accomplish!
  • A disciple on Mark 10 - 6 years ago
"And the Pharisees came to him, and asked him, Is it lawful for a man to put away his wife? tempting him." Scrutinizing everyone but themselves, debating and contending about things that are NOTHING to be debated, putting the Lord to the test with their incessant contradiction and hostility; men who take this course are without excuse and are nothing hidden from God! The hypocrite belies himself!
  • JERRY WELLS on Mark 10 - 7 years ago
THE WORD TELL US WHAT WE SHOULD DO IN LOVING SOMEONE IN OUR LIVES
  • A disciple on Mark 10 - 7 years ago
Marriage is a wonderful blessing and kindness from God. How dreadful for a man to be alone in the world, and a woman to have no man to be his companion and help build his house! But no one seems to give us the kind of advice and deep insight we need to build a successful Marriage relationship. It takes love, first and always! And it takes humility and honesty, and not being too proud to learn! :)
  • John on Mark 10 - 7 years ago
Thier are more places in the Bible that talks about this and if the partner does thier part in a marriage very seldom will the other leave, but most want to only go have way in a marriage and think about them selves you have to give it 100% and don't think about yourself. What did Jesus do did he think about himself or others???
  • Ieanyi amaobichukwu on Mark 10 - 7 years ago
To me i belive the word of God,but these word of God let us to instead u will leave ur wife went out side u better bring her in and married again.can this been committing adultery.
  • A disciple on Mark 10 - 7 years ago
Kathleen; The Lord was talking about the ones leaving; NOT the one who was betrayed! "If the unbelieving depart, let them depart; a brother or a sister is not under bondage in such cases." As for the adulterer or adulteress; when they sin and break the Marriage Bond, and then go get someone else; they then cause that one to commit adultery by being with them. God judges righteous in all things!
  • Evangelist kathleen on Mark 10 - 7 years ago
according to mark 10:12. What if the woman has proof she did nothing to make her ex husband commit adultery, why then is she commiting adultery by remarrying?
  • A disciple on Mark 10 - 7 years ago
John; If one leaves his wife and children to fornicate, then he has broken the marriage bond and is the same as dead: so the wife who was betrayed is free if she wants to marry another. Meanwhile the man who sinned against his wife and children should repent! If he can be reconciled to his family he should try; or stay unmarried. I won't say if he can marry again: he first needs to be a saved man!
  • John on Mark 10 - 7 years ago
I am fully aware of getting married if your spouse dies but I'm talking about fornication it doesn't tell you that the other is free to marry another person if one of them fornicates, that person is also wrong if they remarry
  • A disciple on Mark 10 - 7 years ago
Hi John; The verse you ask about is about getting divorced. The one whose spouse has passed away is free to marry again. As a Christian we are only allowed to marry "in the Lord" that is, to another believer. If one of the spouses fornicates, then the bond is broken the same as by death. There is also the case of an unbelieving spouse leaving: and the brother or sister is not in bondage in that.
  • John on Mark 10 - 7 years ago
I lost my wife a year ago do to cancer and have met different people in the mean time and had conservation regarding marriage and divorce and in verse 11and12 it is very clear to me. Any comments
  • Sisterhelen on Mark 10 - 7 years ago
Mark 10:21 Then Jesus beholding him LOVED him. John14:21 He that hath my commandments and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me and he that loveth me shall be LOVED of my Father and I will LOVE, him and will manifest myself to him.
  • Eric on Mark 10 - 7 years ago
verses 42-45, contrast these with Acts 6:2. The twelve really messed up here. They reverted back to their old way of thinking and not only missed out on a blessing, but set a standard and a precedent that has lived on to modern times. This precedent is WRONG! To be the greatest of all you MUST be the servant of all. These are the words of Jesus.
  • BSP on Mark 10 - 7 years ago
Verses 21 and 22: The rich young man placed a greater importance on material things than being a follower of Christ. He missed out on spiritual blessings because he had too great of an attachment to material things.
  • Christine on Mark 10 - 7 years ago
It is easy to get distracted by everyday events. We are reminded of going back to the source of our strength which is our Lord Jesus. In a glimpse of an eye, God can change anything.
  • G. MENSAH on Mark 10 - 7 years ago
It is that Simple.. With God All Things Are Possible, All Things Achievable and With God All Things Are Receivable!
  • Jesse Bryant on Mark 10 - 7 years ago
BSP says above, "the different positions in heaven were not his to give." It was not the positions in heaven that were at stake. This is why Jesus told them, "Ye know not what ye ask..." It was the positions on the crosses on either side of the crucified Jesus that was "given to them for whom it is prepared." James and John were unwittingly asking to be crucified with Jesus "in His glory".
  • A disciple on Mark 10 - 7 years ago
(42-45) The Times of the Gentiles, and of their form of Dominion over the earth, is coming to its completion and demise: the things that have so deeply held the minds and souls of men in darkness and bondage and hostile opposition to the Lord; are about to be taken away for ever, by the Coming of our Lord and Saviour. It is important that we know the difference between His Spirit and the world's.
