Wow! Susan! How magnificently you paraphrased Mark, Chapter 11 (Jesus' hunger and the fig tree)! The way you illustrated Israel not receiving Jesus, (the Tree of Life) and having only an outer appearance of their beliefs in the 'Laws of Moses', rather than an inner Holy Spirit of recognizing the Living Messiah that dwelt humanly among them!!!! That analogy was so profound and really made me think! The Holy Spirit touched you and really poured an anointed 'discernment' into you! Thanks for sharing! I will never view that chapter and passage of verses the same again! May we all 'bear fruit(s)' and not merely have 'leaves'! To God and His Son, Jesus Christ be ALL the glory!
To GOD be the glory and blessings to my sisters and brothers in christ..I love this chapter and the humbleness of the disciples as well as there obedience as well as the honor they have for JESUS..the words of JESUS truly blessed my soul..and the word I receive from this chapter is that JESUS demonstrated how we have the power through by HIS name and with faith that we shall not parish and what we have been granted favor from GOD the most to ask for healing, deliverance, prosperity, love, understanding, abundantly in life's journey as long as these things are to glorify GOD and to and to magnify HIS name...and to take a stand for righteousness and to boldly walk in the ways of GOD righteous and true and to be steadfast and unmovedable no matter what and who u are up against in life and to keep your confidence in GOD at all times...walk by faith and not by sight...be blessed and know that gOD loves u
It's wonderful. I pray that my wife that has left me will return and we will save our marriage.
I really love her and I know she loves me too. I ask the Lord to change her mind and let our love grow. I believe it will happen. It has been 83 days since I have seen or talked to her. The Lord has his work cutout for him, but I know he will change her mind and save our marriage.
I think that it is a great promise of God & that he DOES give everything we ask for and believe that it is already answered. I have prayed intensely today for my own intention today and I KNOW that God is giving it to me right now, I feel it and I thank God for it. I now need the patience to wait as it is His timing, not ours.
Thanks for the responses they have really broadened on my knowledge. And to Ben Weaver, you mentioned something new to me that its likely Jesus was refering to himself when he talked of ". . .this mountain. . .". It could be true, it is likely He was refering to Himself just as He mentioned of destroying and rebuilding the temple in 3days.
"And seeing a fig tree afar off having leaves, he came, if haply he might find any thing thereon: and when he came to it, he found nothing but leaves; for the time of figs was not yet." ( Mark 11:13)
Do you ever come to a tree expecting fruit and find only leaves?
Jesus came to such a tree.
When Jesus came, Israel should have recognized Him as God, and received Him as God. As a whole, the nation Israel did not receive Him as the Son of God. "He came unto His own, and His own received Him not." ( John 1:11)
Israel, and all who received Him not, had only leaves, when they should have had fruit.
It was their time, it was their season; they should have been ready, they should have had fruit; they were not ready, they had only leaves.
But there is hope, Israel will bear fruit in the future.
Sometimes we come to a tree that should be bearing fruit, and it is not. Maybe sometime in the future it will bear fruit, just not at this time when you stand before it.
Jesus expected fruit, and did not find it.
There is a tree we can always find bearing fruit. At all times, in all seasons, this tree is never barren. It bears all manner of fruits, not just one kind. The fruit of this tree satisfies all hunger, and affords all healing.
We can come and sit under the shade of this tree and eat freely.
Jesus displayed his Lordship and superiority over his opposers by not giving in to their dictates. He defeated them by the wisdom of God: They could not answer his question, he did not answer their question. He disappointed their devices.
The fig tree incident seems prima facie out of character: like Jesus might be saying Huh! I needed figs, you didn't give me any so stuff you! If we reverse the perspective tho the real loss is people in the vicinity who might have need of figs. What had they done to deserve this deprivation? Alternatively what had they not done ? Even the forgiveness of God ultimately is finite
How to avoid the doubt? Always the evil one looks for cracks to infiltrate and plant doubt. First develop a strong relationship with Jesus Christ our LORD and Saviour. He asks every moment to be your friend. Open and read the WORD to see that GOD never will forsake, fail or leave you. TRUST in GOD. Read his promises to the Israelites. See that they were a stiff-necked people yet the LORD always had mercy on them. Know that you and I are a stiff-necked people yet the LORD asks us to return as the prodigal son does so HE can welcome us Home. Submit your will to the LORD. Let HIM be owner of your will. If you truly do HIS will, then what you ask in HIS NAME is for HIS WILL to be done and it will be granted onto you because it is HIS WILL you are wanting to fulfill.
The LORD is never late. He always shows up. The absence of figs on the tree also demonstrates to BE READY. The fig tree was not READY to provide fruit when the LORD arrived. As a result, it was cursed and withered. Pray you are Ready.
This chpt has allot to learn one is:Obedients,Faith,Boldness when the disiples where asked by Jesus to go and find the colt, they obeyed and went without doubting but with trusted and respected. taught me also to be bold and believing in what I pray for V23-24
V.23 I think life has many hills for us to climb over, but mountains that hinder us from walking in God's perfect will must be spoken to with the authority we have in Jesus. However, I recently read and liked a comment with a different view of this verse. Jesus said "THIS MOUNTAIN", not just any mountain. He may have been refering to Himself and his kingdom. Dan. 2:35 indicates that our Lord's kingdom "became a great mountain". Might Jesus have been saying that his followers shall proclaim his kingdom to be hurled into the sea of humanity. He had just caused the fig tree (type of Israel) to wither by speaking to it - hense the new kingdom to be spoken into being would be fitting. A mountain in the sea would also provide solid ground to save those drowning. Jesus did send his followers to proclaim the kingdom of God. This is food for thought.
Mark 11:20-26 And Jesus answering saith unto them, have faith in God. Surely Jesus will not answer your prayer if you have doubt in your heart, and when you read the whole passage, Jesus pointing out only one sin in man's life that impossible him to do without faith. That is why He ended up His message, but if ye do not forgive, neither will your heavenly Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses. Removing the mountain, unrooted the mustard tree, casting out possessed by demons really impossible to do it, without a prayer, remember God will not answer your prayer if you can't forgive your brother's sin. See also Luke 17: 1-6Matthew 17:20-21. God bless you...
Mark 11:1-10 It is customaty for a newly appointed king to sit on the mule, donkey, or colt upon proclaimation from the previous king as a sort of succession. See 1 king 1:38. But Jesus sit on a colt that has never been sat. It means that there's no king before Him and after Him, because He is the King of all kings and the Lord of all lords.
This scripture is very powerful. This lets us know that as Christians all we need is Faith and believe what we speak and as long as we believe and dont doubt we can ask what we will and it will be given unto us...You should find faith in that because God cannot and will not lie...
How do I stop my doubting in my heart? When I ask GOD to help me do something and GOD doesn't help me. Mark 11:24 it said Therefore I say on to you what things soever you desire, when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you shell have them. when my prays are not answered then doubt starts in my heart. Can you Help me?.
He was not known about the time of fruit on the Fig tree
When he did not find the fruit he curse the tree to death
Why is Jesus so unlawful when the tree is obeying the commandment of the Father

This tree is Jesus.
"O taste and see that the LORD is good."
Whosever will, let him eat of this tree freely.
