I don't believe that saying the "Son of" someone implies an authority over others. It's simply an identification with his father. In eastern cultures, it is very important that a family's bloodline or genealogy is known, so that the person being addressed is fully known by his background. In India, often the surname is placed before the given name as that is what is more important: to know the family & after knowing that, to know who you are.

With Jesus, He generally referred Himself as the Son of Man & yet we know that He was also the Son of God. The Son of God title was to acknowledge His Deity (i.e. His indivisible relationship with His Father) & the Son of Man title, associated with His Humanity, coming into the World in a human body.

Matthew 26:63-65: "And the high priest answered and said unto him, I adjure thee by the living God, that thou tell us whether thou be the Christ, the Son of God. Jesus saith unto him, Thou hast said: nevertheless I say unto you, Hereafter shall ye see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven. Then the high priest rent his clothes, saying, He hath spoken blasphemy; what further need have we of witnesses?" Here we see an example of where Caiaphas the High Priest asked about Jesus's Sonship & Jesus affirmed that He was the Son of God but that he (the priest), & all others, would see the "Son of Man" seated in Heaven & returning one day to Earth. And to this Caiaphas accused Jesus of blasphemy as Jesus claimed to be God. So this Son of God by Divine right to the Father was also the Son of Man on Earth & is so presently in Heaven, i.e. God in the Flesh seated at the right Hand of God.

It seems strange to me that Jesus would refer to himself as "the Son of Man," since the first man created by God was Adam. I read that in those times, "Son of" meant that person had authority over others. Why not "Father of" instead. Or Son of God. I know that Jesus didn't always like to admit who He was, but I don't get it. Please explain, if possible. Thanks.

I believe that Jesus answered this very well with the parable of the good Samaritan, Luke 10 verses 25 to 37

also James chapter 2 and Matthew chapter 5,6,7, Beatitudes and sermon on the mount,

    Luke 10:25

"And, behold, a certain lawyer stood up, and tempted him, saying, Master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?"

    Luke 10:37

"And he said, He that shewed mercy on him. Then said Jesus unto him, Go, and do thou likewise."

    James 2:26

"For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also."

It would be interesting to know what the original word was for the actual item they plucked: some say corn some say grain some say wheat.

I've always assumed it would be wheat: Corn doesn't come on ears it comes on a cob and it is well

Wrapped up. Hard to get at the individual nuts. Wheat is on the ear.

Also it is more ludicrous that they should be accused of sabbath breaking just for plucking an ear of wheat. Plus of course, taking

A whole cob of corn would get them

    arrested for theft.

It is very hard for us not to judge others. As Christians we should not "judge or condemn" anyone. This will be performed by Jesus at judgement.

We should pray for all of our brothers and sisters in this life, including Catholics, and everyone else.

    Matthew 7:1

"Judge not, that ye be not judged."

    God Bless.

Not entirely true not all Catholics are completely connected to the deceitful aspects of the Catholic church there may be pegan doctrine but not all are unsavedif they have faith in Jesus Christ to which we should pray for them and not determine they are going to hell , that is God's place

    Matthew Chapter 12

35 A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things.

36 But I say unto you, That every IDLE WzORD that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.

37 For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.

All catholic whoremongers will burn in hell, along their "beloved church satan invention".

    On MARK 2:21

By nature every person is born in sin through the sinful seed of their natural fathers and conditioned therein ( 1 Peter 1:23). For that reason and in order to become a son of God, which are born of God, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God, a person must be 'Born Again' ( John 1:12,13; 3:3-7; 1 John 3:9; 5:4).

God is the judge over His Church and teaches us that you must be 'Born Again'. No believer and follower of the true Christ has ever made a claim that they are 'Born Again'. That is judging oneself and falsehood, as in truth they follow after an image of a false god and a false Christ ( Matthew 24:24; Mark 13:22; Gal. 4:8; Rev. 12:9). This is how Satan has transformed Himself into an angel of light ( 2 Cor. 11:13-15).

Only through 'True Repentance' will God be able to reveal Himself, and adopt you as His sons and daughters ( Rom. 8:15,23; 2 Cor.6:18; Gal. 4:5; Eph. 1:5; Hebr. 12:5; 1 John 3:1).

The word 'Repent' means a lot more than what people by nature have been conditioned to believe. It is the key principle of all the teachings of Jesus Christ and the axiom (basis) of the Word of God and a prerequisite and primary requirement for the salvation of mankind. It actually means the changing of spirits - to turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan unto God ( Acts 26:18).

For a better understanding and the 'spiritual truth' of what it means to repent, and learn how and by whom mankind has been deceived ( Rev. 12:9), and what people must do to be reunited with the true and living God, we invite you to seek Him according to the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive ( John 14:17).

You need not that any man teach you ( Isaiah 54:13; 6:45; 1 John 2:27), It is only by revelation of God that you will come to know Christ ( Daniel 12:4,9; Amos 3:7; Matthew 16:17; Luke 2:26; Romans 16:25; 1 Cor. 2:10; Gal. 1:16; Eph. 3:3,5; Rev. 1:1). It is a narrow way that leadeth unto 'Life', and few there be that find it.

How do I know that Christ has received me into his kingdom? Has their been some kind of miracle in my life to prove it? Should I experience a miracle or perhaps maybe, I have already experienced a miracle, and not aware of it. Scripture clearly says that Jesus cast out devils and healed the sick! Jesus also said an evil and adulterous people seeks after a sign and no sign shall be given? Not unlike me, the first miracle you shall receive is the miracle that happens the minute you hear and receive Christ words! When we except Christ, truly we are born again! A new life that begins, we hear differently, we see differently, our lives begin in a different direction. The miracle is the LOVE we find in God the Father given to us through Jesus Christ! This is the miracle! The wind blows where it wishes and you hear the sound of it, but do not know where it comes from and where it is going; so is everyone who is born of the Spirit." Being born again is truly a miracle that is from above!
  • God Barricades the Tree of Life on Mark 2 - 4 years ago
22 And the LORD God said, Behold, the man is become as one of US (the Godhead) to know good and evil (from eating of the Tree of the knowledge of good and evil)

and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever: (God barricades access to the Tree of Life)

23 Therefore the LORD God sent him (Adam) forth from the garden of Eden, to till the ground from whence he was taken.

24 So he drove out the man; and he placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubims, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life.

Note: the next time you see the Tree of Life mentioned, is in the Book of Revelation; where it was moved to Heaven.

  • God made coats of skins From Commentary on Mark 2 - 4 years ago
    Wesley's Notes for Genesis 3:21

3:21 These coats of skin had a significancy. The beasts whose skins they were, must be slain; slain before their (Adam & Eve) eyes to shew them what death is. And probably 'tis supposed they were slain for sacrifice, to typify the great sacrifice which in the latter end of the world should be offered once for all. Thus the first thing that died was a sacrifice, or Christ in a figure.

Enoch was born through Cains history. He walked with God; one day God must've said, you come home with Me today. Enoch did not die. That's why people think he will be one of the Two Witnesses.

    True and False.

There was an Enoch in Cain's Genealogy, yes, and there was an Enoch in Seth's Genealogy. They're were two different Enoch's. You'll notice how close Cain's genealogy matches up with Adam's Genealogy. This is done deceive to and is symbolic of not following the wrong line....

You'll notice Cain's bloodline in chapter 4. Many of Cain's offspring end in "Bal" Where else do we see Baal in the bible??

Which brings me back to the subject. The original poster ask if Cain was the offspring of Satan, not Adam. Since Cain is not in Adam's Genealogy, I would agree with his pastor's interpretation.

There's more scriptures on after the flood event. The demons actually rail on Satan for their loss. I may not have that til Saturday, because I have to take someone to the hospital; be their driver.

You can search 'inhabitants' and find some of them: the ones that are mentioned with satan.

As far as the bloodline of Cain, both him and Abel are listed in the generations of the heavens and the earth, and not with the generations of Adam, which, like you said, begins with Seth. Cain is given his own generational line. My pastor said that women can have twins from two different fathers and I checked it out and science says it can happen. That could explain an answer for Cain being the son of Satan and Abel being the son of Adam. I know that my family genealogy does not randomly put my two uncles in different genealogies because one is a murderer and the other was murdered. Why wouldn't they be listed under the generations of Adam like Seth is if they were Adam's children? And then Cain and Seth have two different generation lines. It makes sense to me only if they are two different seed lines, other wise what's the need?

Anyway, my pastor says that the reason Satan aimed his sights at the seduction of eve was two fold. It accomplished Adam to first partake in sin, getting him kicked out of eden, and then it disrupted the seed line that the Messiah would now need to come from, which is what Seth became.

My Pastor may be mistaken concerning all of this, but I think he is correct because I don't see how all the terminology relating to seduction, seed, birth pangs, separated genealogies, two fathers, and all other scripture relating to it points to something else or is because of eating forbidden fruit.

Plus, Jesus Christ is coming back looking for us to be chaste virgins. This can't be literal, so I think it relates to apostasy and idolatry which is the Spiritual version of being unfaithful to God, like adultery is for man and woman between each other. Do you see how it all seems to come full circle?

Plus if you look the giants survived the flood because it says "also after that" which as far as I see relates to being after the time of the flood of Noah. And I don't think a flood can kill angels. It was sent to get rid of the hybrid giants and evil man.

    Mishael,

Thanks for your comments, questions and suggestions.

I believe that Abel brought a blood sacrifice because he was a "keeper of sheep" and Cain brought an offering "of the fruit of the ground" because he was a "tiller of the ground." The difference between the two offerings was that Abel brought his offering of the "firstlings of his flock, and of the fat thereof" while Cain's offering was common "fruit of the ground." Abel cared deeply about his offering to his Father and Cain cared less. I don't think blood sacrifice was set up by God for mankind for remission of sins at that time.

I think that Cain received a curse from God as a result of murdering Abel, not his disrespectful offering to God.

I am not sure if the thought that Eve and Adam were seduced by Satan is entirely an imagined thing because the NT says that Eve was beguiled, and that word in Greek means "wholly seduced." That means Adam was also, and the reason homosexuality began then also. And I guess the question might need to be asked is why Adam and Eve eating an apple would result in them being ashamed of their nakedness, or need clothes for covering their private parts, or separation of seed, or increasing birth pangs? To me, it seems to all add up and make sense.

If the tree of the knowledge of good and evil bringing forth literal fruit that is both good and evil, and this is all Satan has to work with, how hard would it be to resist him? It looks like Satan beguiles Eve with the subtle twisting of the words of God, and probably not a piece of fruit. That's just what seems to make sense to me.

It might be that Eve was tempted with the ability to "as gods" become closer to God, and this closeness would be a result of experiencing this thing called "evil" the her and Adam were unaware of. I believe that Satan was the most beautiful creature Eve had ever seen, and it made seduction easier.
  • Cains Geneology - In Reply on Mark 2 - 4 years ago
    Genesis 4:16-26

Is Cains' genealogy. It ends with Seths birth.

The bloodline of people that eventually would give birth to the Son of Man, Jesus; came through Seths branch of the Geneology.

Reading genealogies in the Bible truly tells a story that is often missed. Generally women were not recorded, unless their story intertwined with Jesus's story.

You can Google Charts of Abraham's genealogy ( which was made from the Bible); Jesus's, and others. They generally follow after the story of someone's life ends, in the Bible.

Enoch was born through Cains history. He walked with God; one day God must've said, you come home with Me today. Enoch did not die. That's why people think he will be one of the Two Witnesses.

I lean more towards, "The Law and the Prophets" of the Old Testament: which would be Moses and Elijah. But I could be wrong too. The whole world will see them on the Internet.

You need to get a Bible With center of page Reference Columns (tiny alphabet letters). It gives you additional information about each scripture that has one or more.

Abel brought a BLOOD sacrifice to God. (For without the shedding of blood there is no remission for sin).

Cain didn't think about that. He had PRIDE in his offering and felt that was good enough for God. He disrespected God. God rejected his offering and as a result Cain was cursed.

Cains response is to murder Abel.

Adam and Eve were married by God. God performed the first marriage. All Hebrew marriages after that were performed the same way.

Leaves were their idea of quick clothing. Adam knew they had sinned by eating the fruit. It has nothing to do with what someone imagined that Eve (a married woman) did with Satan. He tempted her with food and then power. The very same way he tried to tempt the Lord, Jesus Christ; after 40 days of fasting.

There is no scripture that says Eve and Satan had relations. Adam was heartbroken that Eve had eaten of the fruit and he took a bite because he loved her; he didn't want to be separated from her.

First thing God does is curse Satan. Then He prophesies a future day (at the cross) Genesis 3:15 about her seed: Jesus, bruising satans head.

Then came the prophesy that she and all women would suffer in childbirth.

Back to Cain: Jesus's bloodline DID NOT come through Cain. Eve had another son named SETH, with Adam. By all means go Google a genealogy chart on Jesus so you can see it with your eyes. His bloodline is in the Bible Also. Your Pastor was mistaken.

We, as Gods children bear a solemn responsibility to verify every scripture ourselves, from the KJV Bible...that the Pastor issued on the teaching. If we don't read scriptures slow, and look up all those Center Of Each Page Reference Columns; we may miss out on a gem of Truth.

Take another look at it and tell me what you think.

After the flood, they were no more. They had no BODY to make babies with. Ever since then, they have had no fleshly body; big, little, giant, petite.

DEMONS are invisible. They gain illegal access to humans, who give that illegal access. But demons are invisible body cannot produce (can I say it?) fluids.

Unless you are discussing spiritual warfare ?? Why are you focusing on this? I'm curious.
  • Edward - In Reply on Mark 2 - 4 years ago
    Thanks for your responses,

My Pastor said that not only the fallen angels procreated with the daughters of Adam, but that the result of the act between Satan and Eve was Cain. This seems to make sense to me because God then separates the seed of Satan from the seed of Eve and pronounces issues with birth for Eve and all women after that. Why else would God talk about these things. And when God went to talk to Adam and Eve after they sinned, they wrapped fig leaves around their loins, not their mouth if they ate an apple. It seems to all fit.
  • Mishael - In Reply on Mark 2 - 4 years ago
They all died in the flood (drowned): The fallen angels that followed Satan.

They had no bodies any longer. That's when they became invisible. Ephesians 6.

They could get into unprotected, unrighteous humans; but they cannot procreate anymore.

Evil human beings can let their bodies be possessed by demons: as in witches.

Born again people can be Oppressed, but NOT possessed. The need prayer of agreement to be relieved.
