It seems the answer is adequate for blaspheme against the Holy Spirit. For the believer the Spirit is indwelling and no one can say God is accursed ( 1 Cor. 12:3) if the Spirit of God is in them. Certainly we can sin against God and grieve the Spirit. ( Eph. 4:30-31). Any sin will be sin against the Godhead; and unconfessed sin will cause estrangement as to the blessings in one's life and the Lord often withdraws some of His protection in order to shock us back to reality. This chastisement; of course is different for God's children than judgment that the world at large is under ( John 3:36).
I'm guessing you are referring to Mark chapter 3 verses 22-30 . The crux of the matter seems to be that the scribes and pharisees were saying that Jesus was a devil and therefore they were ascribing the power that Jesus had , to the devil and not to God . God is all powerful . In John chapter 3 , we read that Nicodemus says : WE know ( verse 2) , so the scribes and pharisees knew that Jesus had the power of God with him and yet , in public they accused him of being a devil in order to discredit him . This is some serious sinfulness I think , knowing that something or someone is acting in accordance with God's will and by the power of God and yet accusing them of being evil in order to discredit them , in other words discrediting God Himself . Ascribing God's power to the devil . Very very serious trouble .
Hello Joyjay. No human being, however wicked they may be, can be considered a demon. Demons are spirit beings sent out by Satan, the prince of devils. Those demons can certainly afflict or indwell a person who gives themselves over to them through various means, but every person remains fully human & fully in need to be saved through Jesus Christ.
You haven't shared about your forefathers or how you may be considering them as demons, so I can't give anymore specifics. Your forefathers will always be related to you no matter how they have lived their lives. You are responsible for your own life & if you have family members, also to care for them, nurture them & lead them to live carefully & responsibly. I don't know your culture, but I would think that a person in any culture will never deny his heritage & his responsibilities to his fellow-man.
As far as loving your forefathers, that depends on a person's inclination; some pay no heed to any one other than those about them - others, will go to great lengths to prepare (endless) genealogies & retrieve historical records/photos, so as to keep their memories alive. So be free to give love, respect or consideration to your forefathers, if you deem them worthy, but if their lives have been filled with evil, then we can learn to stay far away from their errors, & turn to the One Who promises us forgiveness of our sins, a new abundant life on Earth, & a sure hope of an eternity with Him. And of course, His Name is Jesus Christ, Who came as the Saviour for all men, no matter their religion, country of birth, or their deeds. Jesus gave His Life for you & me, so that we wouldn't have to suffer eternity without God & in everlasting punishment. John 3:16-19; Romans 3:23; Romans 6:23; Romans 10:9, all giving us assurance that when we come to God through His Son, He will forgive & He will accept. Your forefathers may have not heard this Good News - today no one has any excuse. May you receive God's comfort.
Your proclamations minimize Jesus Christ to a "host" accepting a parasite.
Before his 3.5 years of power, Jesus was sinless and errorless. The spirit was on him and in him always.
Too bad your attitude isn't displayed with any profession like sports where you can deduct talent from the talented. Teaching non-believers is difficult enough without saying Jesus was not God. Semantics is a double-edged sword, so be careful where you tread.
Blasphemy against the Holy Ghost or Holy Spirit is what is known as "The unpardonable sin!" It is the only sin that cannot be forgiven.
John 2:2 says that Jesus Christ is the propitiation, or satisfaction for our sins. And He has died for the sins of the whole world. Everybody! He died for the sins of the whole world. But this does not mean that every human being will be saved.
Every human being, when they stand before God on their appointed time, will not have to answer for their sins. Jesus died to forgive the sins of the world.
However, what they will have to answer for is what did you do? How did you respond when the Holy Spirit came to you and testified to you about Jesus Christ? What did you do?
Blaspheming means to express rejection.
In John Chapter 16 Verses 8 to 11, Jesus says that when the Holy Spirit comes (After He ascends up into heaven), the Holy Spirit will convict the world of sin, of righteousness, and of judgment.
So when the Holy Spirit comes and convicts somebody of their sin, and of the righteousness that can only be found in Jesus Christ, and if they reject Him, they will be judged for their sins.
If they reject that conviction and that testimony, they have committed blasphemy against the Holy Spirit. It is the only sin that a person cannot be forgiven for, the rejection of Christ!
If you are saved now, you cannot commit blasphemy of the Holy Spirit because when God's Spirit (Holy Spirit) came to you, convicted you of your sin, convinced you of your need to surrender your life to Christ, you did not reject Him but surrendered your life to Him.
A person who rejects that testimony and refuses to surrender to Christ, that person cannot be forgiven. And that's what it means to commit the unpardonable sin, or blasphemy of the Holy Ghost.
Hello Richard, God bless your life change now in Christ Jesus, that you have spoken of a little and show proof of in your care to others related to the Word of God.
As I would like to give you my aspect of this unforgivable sin. There are many that believe "once saved always saved" which is not in the Bible but a made up interpretation of picking verses. There is Scripture to prove that someone can receive the gift of the Holy Ghost and lose that gift. Hebrews 6:4-6, Hebrews 10:26-29, 1 Timothy 4:1 etc. Now I would only have to see one verse like that for it to touch my heart and know this is not a game. And there are more.
This to me does not mean one cannot fall away and then not return to the Lord as there have been instances like this. His mercy, forgiveness, and longsuffering is endless. He will have mercy and forgiveness to whom He want's Exodus 33:19. As He knows who it will help to prosper and those it will not help and be a waste for Him. As some who were once saved now curse God and the Lord etc. It is all up to God, as he reads hearts, and knows who shall endure till the end and who shall be saved. As He knows the end before the beginning.
As this, detail, also just came to me today as I was outside. Now I see why. Some may say "why would God give His Holy Spirit to someone when knows they will not make it". What came to me was that this is a way to justify us, His chosen people, His children, to show that He did not just give His Holy Spirit to His children. But to all types of people. Of coarse God does not need to do anything to answer questions of men. He is Almighty and does what He pleases. This will make those who fell away inexcusable even on their own terms. As He is fair and just.
I hope that helps and this is from me what I have come to learn. Letting the Holy Ghost guide and teach me.
All thanks be to our Lord Jesus Christ and our Father in heaven.
As the Holy Ghost guides me to these things. I would like to state to one that asked if there was any account recorded that right after receiving the Holy Ghost, in the NT, they did not speak in "tongues". As of coarse one would be Jesus Christ(which I believe always had the Holy Ghost and did not just receive it at His water baptism but that's another post) but I will give the benefit of the doubt that He was special and not just a regular person. It is actually Saul/Paul in Acts 9:17-20. No account of Him speaking in "tongues" after receiving the Holy Ghost. He straightway preached that Christ is the Son of God.
That last sentence I wrote was just to put it out there. I know you did not say anything about that. It was for someone else who said "God doesn't have hands". I apologize that it came out like that.
Also me stating that I didn't want to "argue" about this topic anymore was not that you and I are arguing. You seem kind in your posts and why I wanted to reply to you.
About Abraham offering up his son to be a kind of parallel to the sacrifice of our Lord Jesus Christ I understand. As of coarse it is not exactly the same but numerous parallels. As with others previously someone was interested in parallels to Jesus Christ being dead three days. Some parallels are with Abraham Genesis 22:4, Jonah being in the whales belly Jonah 1:17, Israel being raised on the third day Hosea 6:1-2, David not eat/drink for 3 days & nights (1 Samual 30:12.
The Holy Bible is the living Word of God. There are many, many, things deeper that we can plainly see. Although all we need is right in front of us.
So to reply to the other post you made. About not believing in the devil, not believing in "hell", or you not believing any of us are going to Heaven. As I have made this statement to another on this page. The things I have experienced, in less than two years, most people of this world would not believe. Because they are not of this physical world.
I don't want to get into a discussion about those things you stated as they are just your beliefs. I will not waste my energy going back and forth with anyone on those things. The thing that saddens me the most is you stating "you don't think any of us are going to Heaven". How can you state something like that? So you do not believe the Scriptures and the teachings therein? So it seems?
All I can say is pray to Jesus Christ to set you free and lead you to the truth. Pour your heart out to Him.
Thank you for your time and please do not take anything I wrote as harsh. It was only meant to try and help.
Hi Richard in Christ ,thankyou for your time and energy towards me ,i never said that Stevens vision at his stoning was a metaphor ,i dont believe that it was ,you and i agree on mamy things ,i dont ever really argue with anyone ,not even my husband ! I will state my case and i wouldnt state it so...what word should i use ? Noisily ? Agressively ? Anyway i wouldnt state it if i didnt really believe it ,im not a person who is afraid to say 'i dont know ' if i dont know i will say so and if i really believe something i cant pretend not to ,i feel it would be deceitful of me not to state my beliefs and allow people to assume that i believe the same as they do if i dont and i want to be honest , i certainly dont think any less of anyone who doesnt agree with me ,most of my family are atheists and i still love and respect them as human beings so im still going to love and respect other Christians as i know i should.
Hi Sacha, By any chance did you read any of my first three posts this morning? It was actually Genesis chapter 22 that inspired these posts. Anyway I hope it is cheery your way today when you look out of the flat! Windy here!!!
I would like to reply to your question. So going back to Genesis 22 is the story of Abraham offering up his son Isaac. Which I believe is stated to be a test of faith from God to Abraham. Hebrews 11:7, James 2:21-23. To see how deep his faith truly was. Not just faith but faith by works.
As this topic has come up before I will share my beliefs with some Scripture to it. As another stated also, I do not say Jesus Christ is God the Father. I believe as God is eternal that instead of Him being alone why not have a Son whom is perfect in every aspect just as He is. To be in Him and with Him always in His heart and in His bosom John 1:18 for companionship (that actually just came to me today as I was standing outside praising the Lord).
I usually state Jesus Christ as Lord along with thirty other names I know by heart that I call Him while in prayer. I do not call Him God personally. Although He is one with God and I believe He is the Word of God(as it states in Revelation 19:13. Also some titles the Father and Son share are Lord of lords, Alpha and Omega, Savior. As in the OT, using only one verse as there are many, that there is no Saviour but the LORD. Isaiah 43:11. Through out the NT God and Jesus Christ are both stated as our Saviour. Just some Titus 1:3, Titus 1:4, Titus 3:4, Titus 3:6.
So as you have your own beliefs, and just as well I have mine, I will stop here as I don't want to quarrel or argue any more about this. I believe Jesus Christ the only begotten Son of God is eternal just as the Father and has always been with the Father. Yes His physical life came to this earth being born of Mary. As He had to suffer death for us as a perfect sacrifice or offering for our sins. Which is very honorable and why the Father honors Him higher than any other being. Even the highest Holy angels. Hebrews 1:4.
And about Him being at the Fathers right hand Steven saw this before He was stoned in Acts 7:55-56. So it's not just a metaphor. God Bless
S. Spencer , you have rebuked me and i take it on the chin and thankyou for it ,please ,can you or any one else who belives that Jesus is actually God explain mark ch 13 v 32 and Genesis ch 22 to me ,as for me being ,i guess confrontational ,all of you must know what it feels like to passionately believe something and want everyone else to see it too ,i truely believe that Jesus is not God ,Jesus recieved the Holy Spirit without measure but that doesnt make him God ,no one has told me that Jesus is not God ,it seems very obvious to me ,i know lots of others who believe this also ,i may be in the minority on this site but i can live with that ,i know for sure that God is very merciful and i pray that He will continue to be so to all of us and that He grants us all the best blessings soon ,the complete end to all humans ruling over other humans and His Kingdom filling this His earth from end to end and forever ,may we all meet in person in Christ in those very best days .
Hi everyone ,apart from Mark ch13 v 32 which clearly states or rather Jesus himself states ,that God knows something that Jesus doesnt ,i will appeal to all of you out there who belive that Jesus is God one final time ,this is not a rhetorical question ,please can at least one person try to answer this for me ,what is Genesis ch22 all about ? Why is it there for us to read ? Tell me please all your thoughts (based on scripture) ,regarding this chapter .Thankyou ,if this and Mark ch13 v32 dont make you rethink the matter i shall be silent on this subject no matter how much it burns me to be quiet about it .
God has given us his inspired scripture, and he has given us servants to carry out his Message, ""Messengers" these Messengers are gifts and he also given the messengers gifts.
Ephesians 4:1-15. I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called,
WITH all LOWLINESS and MEEKNESS, with LONGSUFFERING, forbearing one another in LOVE;
Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of PEACE.
There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling;
One Lord, one faith, one baptism,
One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.
But unto every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ.
Wherefore he saith, When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men.
(Now that he ascended, what is it but that he also descended first into the lower parts of the earth?
He that descended is the same also that ascended up far above all heavens, that he might fill all things.)
And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;
For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:
Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:
That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and CARRIED ABOUT WITH EVERY WIND OF DOCTRINE, by the sleight of men, and CUNNING CRAFTINESS, WHEREBY THEY LIE IN WAIT TO DECEIVE;
But speaking the TRUTH IN LOVE, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ:
John 14:6-7. Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth,
""If the messengers don't display the truth, Christ is not in him and we don't follow his teachings, because we being Jesus sheep don't hear Jesus voice, MY SHEEP HEAR MY VOICE!
Christian vs Pagan names for PassoverEaster on Mark 3 - 3 years ago
Pagan named Holidays vs Christian
Easter was originally the celebration of Ishtar, the Assyrian and Babylonian goddess of fertility and sex. After Constantine decided to Christianize the Empire, Easter was changed to represent Jesus. But at its roots, Easter (which is how you pronounce Ishtar) is all about celebrating fertility and sex.
Ishtar(ProperNoun) A goddess of fertility, love, sex and war. In the Babylonian pantheon, she was the divine personification of the planet Venus. Assyrian and Babylonian counterpart to the Sumerian Inanna and to the cognate northwest Semitic goddess Astarte.
Pagan goddess of Easter
"Eostre"
But in English-speaking countries, and in Germany, Easter takes its name from a pagan goddess from Anglo-Saxon England who was described in a book by the eighth-century English monk Bede. "Eostre was a goddess of spring or renewal and that's why her feast is attached to the vernal equinox."
Passover is the Christian equivalent to the pagan Holiday of Easter.
The word "Easter" (or its equivalents) appear in the Bible only once in Acts 12:4. This passage refers to Herod killing John, the brother of James. Peter was to be next, so Peter was put in prison until after the pagan holiday of Easter (for Jews & Christians, the Passover). That's the night the Angel of the Lord broke Peter out of prison! Hallelujah!
As Christians living in the last days before Jesus's Return, let us not be ashamed of the Gospel of Jesus Christ!
When my son was young, we did not observe Halloween period. We went to school Harvest celebration: fish pond, cake walks, etc. I gave him 20.00 to spend on Brachs candy, NOT Halloween candy. Best I could do. He had fun.
Passover/Easter we went to church. I bought reg. Big candy bars & we hid them all over the house. We'd find candy bars through JULY, and just laugh and arm wrestle for it. He knew Pink Energizer Bunny was a toy and Jesus went to the cross for our sins. Best I could do...
Thank you for that kind reply. It seems we have the same mind as I enjoy to read and agree with your detailed posts. Just as you stated Matthew 7:20-23. I also brought that up in that it doesn't matter how much we prophecy, or cast out devils(speaking in tongues also) that is not what saves us. God searches hearts and knows His sheep.
As in another post of yours I also agree Jesus Christ pre-existed. Having Scripture that shows this. Thank you for all of your detailed posts. You also being connect to the true vine our Lord Jesus Christ.
Revelation 21:22-23 And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it.
And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof.
Revelation 22:1-7 And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb.
In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.
And there shall be no more curse: but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and his servants shall serve Him:
And they shall see His face; and His name shall be in their foreheads.
And there shall be no night there; and they need no candle, neither light of the sun; for the Lord God giveth them light: and they shall reign for ever and ever.
And He said unto me, These sayings are faithful and true: and the Lord God of the holy prophets sent His angel to shew unto His servants the things which must shortly be done.
Behold, I come quickly: blessed is he that keepeth the sayings of the prophecy of this book.
Mishael on Ministry Gifts and operations of Holy Spirit on Mark 3 - 3 years ago
I Corinthians chapters 12-14
The Holy Spirit now in operation on earth since the day of Pentecost (book of Acts).
Jesus ascended to sit at the right hand of God; He delegated gift giving to the Holy Spirit.
The Holy Spirit gives the gifts of the Spirit, as He wills. He is the Spirit of Jesus Christ, on earth, now.
If it's in the New Testament, then it is New Testament living for now till Jesus comes back. This is a new and better Covenant. Each born again Christian is indwelled by the Holy Spirit. "Know ye not you are the Temple of the living God?"
If we don't read our Bibles beyond, Psalm 23, 1 John 1:9, Psalm 51 or Genesis; Matthew 25:29-46, we'll miss seeing the Ministry Gifts.
The whole of the purpose of the Cross was to strip Satan of his power he stole from Adam; Ratify the New Covenant with His Blood. To deliver the Holy Spirit to the New Testament Church
(Pentecost). Jesus would then be in every born again believers, spirit. Fulfill all outstanding Prophesy; start writing the New Testament down
If we are skittish about Tongues, the Holy Spirit knows that. He's in us. We're the temple. Scripture says to desire the best gifts or operations, like: government, hospitality, missions, and more, like ministry gifts=prophets, teachers, pastors, evangelists, apostles. Etc. It's written.
New Testament disciples and believers were saying things like, I follow Peter or Paul and others. It was new and that's how people think to identify. Herd mentality.
Habakkuk 2:2
And the LORD answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon table ,so that he may run that readeth it. (They didn't have paper notebooks then, or personal Bibles!)
You will find your identity in the pages of your Bible. I've said that for 36 years. Jesus will help us understand our particular equippings. He hasn't told me to scratch that one out and move along; so, it still stands as Rhema. Google that word...
Thank you for your humidity and longsuffering displaying fruit, something we get by being connected to the true vine,
That's confirmation to the onlookers that you are a believer in Christ
I also believe in gifts of the spirit but not as for confirming salvation,
Balaams donkey prophesied that don't mean he was saved.
Look at the contrast below in vs 20, fruit is confirmation to the onlookers but notice vs 22 and 23, The Lord didn't reject claim of prophesying. They were fruitless, never connected to the vine.
Matthew 7:20-23
20: Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.
21: Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
22: Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
23: And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
I believe in spiritual gifts but for edifying the body
I believe the gift of tongues has ceased,
Again Thank you for showing what being joined with Christ should look like.

God Bless
Why did not God say Jesus is me ?
And why did Jesus not say I'm God ?
The answer is that would be a lie . God does not lie .
God has given us his inspired scripture, and he has given us servants to carry out his Message, ""Messengers" these Messengers are gifts and he also given the messengers gifts.
Ephesians 4:1-15. I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called,
WITH all LOWLINESS and MEEKNESS, with LONGSUFFERING, forbearing one another in LOVE;
Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of PEACE.
There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling;
And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;
For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:
Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:
That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and CARRIED ABOUT WITH EVERY WIND OF DOCTRINE, by the sleight of men, and CUNNING CRAFTINESS, WHEREBY THEY LIE IN WAIT TO DECEIVE;

Believe Jesus's words. Bible.
