God is all powerful. He's the only wise God, the miraculous God, the incomparable God who just speaks the word and man can be made whole again. Let us all remain focus and believe that whatever we ask in His name, it shall be done.
  • RobesonTeresa on Mark 5:10 - 4 years ago
It is worthwhile to complete things that are worth starting and ending. Smart people always do things from beginning to end.

Amen. Praise God and ALWAYS give thanks to Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Now with COVID-19 looming all across the world, we must continue to pray for ALL our sisters and brothers. We must pray for the lost sheep and those that are hardened to God's Holy Word that they turn from their wicked ways, repent and accept Jesus Christ as their personal Savior. Truly we are living in troubling times and we MUST stay the course. Proverbs 3:5-6. Amen. Hallelujah. Praises up and blessings down. I trust you LORD and give you ALL the glory, honor and praise, today and ALL days.

The Scriptures confirm King David did not obey God even before his adultery with Bathsheba he held onto bitterness towards his wife and his revenge was not to have Children with her and than he Married Pagan Woman which God had forbidden and it was adultrey too. David Repented and than what did he ask for? Ps51:10-17 he was now a Man after God's own Heart and God knew he would be He knows It All.
  • Wisdom - In Reply on Mark 5 - 5 years ago
Yes they knew who Jesus was but they didn't have Bibles like we do and even if they did they wouldn't have understood Scripture because they didn't have God's Wisdom which is the Principle thing in Understanding His Truth Prov4:7 through the empowering of The Holy Spirit. Satan didn't know Scripture when he tempted Jesus but Jesus did and used it to rufute him.

We are all attacked daily by legions of the devil, we must live in faith that the we abide under the wing of God, pray to the Lord for wisdom and pray for those suffering and caught up in their wicked ways, that they can be delivered from those snares, we all have been lead to the word, and from our sinfulness , and we need to do the same for them, through the love of Christ

The Damon-possessed ran to Jesus when he Saw Him afar off,so that he could Worship Him. ( Mark 5:6) The Man Wanted Everything to do With The with The Son of God /The demons did not, They Cried Out Torment me not when Christ Said, Come of The Man, Thou Unclean spirit.( Mark 5:7-8) The Man Saw his Only Hope, Nothing was Going to Stop Him. The Son of God is The Only Savior. Call while He is Near.

Verses 26-28~Even though the woman with the flow of blood had been disappointed time and time again, she did not give up hope. She kept her faith and as a result she received healing from Jesus.
  • Eutychus on Mark 5 - 7 years ago
In vs 39, Jesus likens the child's state of death as, "sleeping", a phrase we will hear him use again. James 2:26 tells us that without the spirit, the body is dead. Jesus says ( John 6:63) "The spirit gives life".

And in Luke 8:55, we find the act of Jesus' raising the girl, causes, "Her spirit to come again".

The spirit, returning to the little girl, brought life back into her body...

This man Legion cd not be tamed by CHAINS AND FETTERS HE BROKE THEM TO PIECES, THATS HUMANITY MEANING MANY,, WE CANNOT BE TAMED BY LAWS AND COMMANDMENTS WE BREAK EVERY LAW AND COMMANDMENTS TO PIECES,HE WAS NOT SUBJECT TO THE CHAINS AND FETTERS,AS MAN IS NOT SUBJECT TO THE LAWS OF GOD AND NEITHER INDEED CAN WE BE,WHEN DAVID SAW BATHSHEBA BATHIN AND SEDUCED HER HE BROKE EVERY COMMANDMENT TO PIECES.

Mark 5 (cont. 2); Everything about this scene; the frightening drama of the man's deliverance and healing; the panicked reaction of the people when they came out to see what had happened, and then begged the Lord that He would go away from them; the man asking if he could stay with the Lord, but being sent home rather to show his friends what God had done for him; is all full of spiritual lessons!
  • A disciple on Mark 5 - 7 years ago
"The country of the Gadarenes" was in the Southeast corner of the Sea of Galilee, in the borders of Gad and Manasseh. Not exactly in a place where the Pharisees and the rich and powerful of Jerusalem held too much influence on the people; the effects of the irreligious and unclean spirit over the place no doubt had contributed to this poor man being taken by such a terrible "legion" of demons.
  • Scott Hutchins on Mark 5 - 7 years ago
In chapter (4), Jesus demonstrated His power over nature. As Creator God, Jesus has the power to speak and have His words obeyed. In chapter (5), He demonstrates His power over the unseen spiritual realm, His power to heal by changing the cellular/molecular structure of our bodies, and His power to restore life to a dead body. You can believe in spiritual deliverance, healing
  • Peter A. Okebukola on Mark 5 - 7 years ago
Are you laden with sickness in body or in soul? Come onto Jesus who has power to heal all infirmities and sin-sick souls. He did all the casting out of the devil when He was man on earth. He is the same today and evermore shall be.

Hello Irene123, and Lu2677. Irene the scripture you are referring to is in Matt. 25:41 which prove that everlasting fire or the lake of fire was prepared for the Devil and his angels. Lu2627 Matthew Henry's commentary said a legion was 6000 or more therefore, that poor man was in a hopeless situation until Jesus healed him. Glory be to God in the highest. Amen!

This chapter shows Jesus' immense power over the demons, illness, and even death. He is definitely the idea king we need to change this terrible world.
  • Andy on Mark 5 - 8 years ago
This Chapter shows the deity of Christ 1.demons could not stand before Him. 2. Disease could escape His healing. 3. Death was defeated by Him.

  • Stella nwakohu on Mark 5 - 8 years ago
In this chapter, we have, I. Christ casting the legion of devils out of the man possessed, and suffering them to enter into the swine (v. 1-20). II. Christ healing the woman with the bloody issue, in the way as he was going to raise Jairus's daughter to life (v. 21-43). These three miracles we had the story of before ( Mt. 8:28 , etc. and Mt. 9:18 , etc.) but more fully related here.
  • Lu2677 on Mark 5 - 8 years ago
    V. 8, the "unclean spirit" is a demon. V.9, there were more than one demon in the man, "we are many." In V.12 the devils made a request of Jesus.
