In verses 31 through 37, what a Merciful God The Lord Jesus Christ is. How wonderful that Our Lord in Pure Holy Perfection creates and bestows with His Word the gifts of Life in Hearing and Speaking, that this man received the opportunity to both receive Faith through Hearing the Word of God and in speaking the Praises that only Christs Grace gives True Believers through their tongues. This is The Lord's doing and it leaves us all beyond measure astonished.

The Bible has much to say about fools. The word fool today usually means "a senseless fellow, a bad character. The biblical definition has the added dimension of "someone who disregards God's Word."
The Bible lists many characteristics of such a person, often contrasting him with one who is wise. Ecclesiastes 10:2 says, "The heart of the wise inclines to the right, but the heart of the FOOL to the left."
A fool is one whose wayward heart turns continually toward foolishness. "Fools speak foolishness and make evil plans" ( Isaiah 32:6).
Proverbs 26:11 says, "As a dog returns to its vomit, so fools repeat their folly."
Fools do not learn their lessons from the mistakes they make. They continue doing the same foolish things over and over again, to their own destruction ( Proverbs 18:7).
The following is a partial list of some characteristics of a fool from the BOOK OF
PROVERBS:
A fool hates knowledge (1:22)
Takes no pleasure in understanding (18:2)
Enjoys wicked schemes ( Proverbs 10:23)
Proclaims folly ( Proverbs 12:23)
Spurns a parent's discipline (15:5)
Speaks perversity (19:1), is quick-tempered (12:16), gets himself in trouble with his proud speech (14:3) mocks at sin (14:9), is deceitful (14:8)
Despises his mother (15:20). A foolish child brings grief to his or her parents (17:25; 19:13)
A foolish man commits sexual immorality (6:32; 7:7-12)
A foolish woman tears down her own house (14:1).
(The worst of all). Psalm 14:1
The fool hath said in his heart, THERE IS NO GOD. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works; there is none that does good.
Romans 8:28 basically states that the plan of God will be done through His "elect" children.
God also utilizes Satan's children to bring about His perfect plan, look at Isaiah 10:5, 19:25, Jeremiah 42:18, etc.
The "elect" children of God concerns "predestination," look at Romans 8:29-30, 1 Corinthians 2:7, Ephesians 1:5, 11.
Predestination has to do with understanding that there are 3 earth and heaven ages spoken of in the word of God, 2 Peter 3:5-6 speaks of the 1st dispensation of time; 2 Peter 3:7 speaks of the 2nd dispensation of time; and 2 Peter 3:13 speaks of the 3rd dispensation of time.)
The 1st earth and heaven age ended due to the fall of Satan, and is recorded in Genesis 1:1-2. The earth BECAME without form and void; God did not make it that way!
The 2nd earth and heaven age came into being when the spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters and God said Let there be Light ( Genesis 1:2-3)
The 3rd earth and heaven age is what all children of God look forward to.
God "did foreknow" ( Rom 8:29) each and every one of us because we were all there in the 1st Dispensation of time.
Jeremiah was (foreordained) a prophet BEFORE he was born ( Jeremiah 1:5).
God hated Esau BEFORE he was born because Esau despised his (birth)-right and (likely) followed Satan in the 1st earth age ( Genesis 25:32-34, Malachi 1:3, Romans 9:13, Hebrews 12:16)
From my understanding an evil eye, is looking upon evil with a desire to do the same. A lust for doing evil. We all are tainted by the fall of Adam when sin entered the world, so we need to fight against being lustful. Desiring other people's stuff, someone's wife, etc. We are to be content with what God has given us, and be thankful at all times for who God has made us and what we have. Resting in Him.
6 He answered and said unto them, Well hath Esaias prophesied of you hypocrites, as it is written, This people honoureth me with their lips, but their heart is far from me. 7 Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men. 8 For laying aside the commandment of God, ye hold the tradition of men, as the washing of pots and cups: and many other such like things ye do. 9 And he said unto them, Full well ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition.
Notice 6-9 very closely and we see a warning from JESUS then and in 2020. A battle between what GOD has established and what man has established, therefore it is very important that we personally know all the Word of GOD /Bible that equips us to rightly stand when traditions of men, such as the above or persuasive words, yes persuasive words that always leave out SALVATION. SALVATION through verses such as John 3:16-21 records our name in the BOOK OF LIFE.
I wonder if Christ went to the ocean for a little r and r. Frustrated by the jews for their persistent use of the law to disgrace Him and his word. Always pitting him against their traditions. Frustrated by there obstinance he calls them hypocrites. So he goes for a long walk to the oceanside where he receives a humble loving mother. A greek Mother. Ya ,ya. You can almost feel his frustration, using words like dogs when describing the gentiles and the Jews. Then this Mother blows him away with her confession. Her thankfulness in knowing what He will do. After He heals her daughter, He is rejuvenated, then proceeds on his mission to the 10 cities of Decapolis. Christ was spreading the Gospel
Christ is referring to the children of Israel, That the children would be filled or taught the salvation that has come unto them in Himself, the Messiah. Christ is that bread of life given not only to the Jews ,but also the Gentiles who this woman is. Jesus is saying that by giving his bread to dogs would be wasting his time not giving it first to the children of Israel. What is interesting about this story is how far Christ travels for this woman confession. Then leaves to return to Galilee. He uses her example of the great faith that she has, and her humility in knowing the Lord will heal her daughter. Confession is enough for just 1 crumb of his grace to be saved from sickness and sin.
what does this mean in simple terms "let the children be filled first, for it is not good to take the children's bread and throw it to the little dogs"
I watched a documentary on t.v. last night about the Amish ,and those that wanted to leave and it reminded me about Jesus dealing with the hypo-critical
Henry: I believe that this is still the gravest difficulty, danger, and difficulty in what makes up the true church and the false church every generation since Christ: Often times those in leadership have set up man made ideas, philosophies, theologies and traditions that actually makes God's Word, Way, and Will to not affect even to those who claim to be part of His disciples!
And they bring unto him one that was deaf, and had an impediment in his speech and they beseech him to put his hand upon him. I had a impediment of speech until I was about 10 years old. One day riding with my Dad on a large sled with bales of sugarcane, being pulled with our mule. I fell off and a stub or stick sticking up in the ground went into my mouth and split my tongue. N I spoke plain.
Jesus Christ came to save the house of Israel to fulfill the law and prophesy first as the Word of God clearly says, but this greek woman was a gentile and Jesus saw her faith in him and he blessed her by answering her prayer. Jesus Christ is God and cannot make a mistake.
1-5 we learn of 'customary practices' of /by church-folks; church-folks elevate such 'customary practices' above the COMMANDMENTS OF Jehovah /GOD; GOD is concern with SALVATION plus verse 20, 21, 22, 23; in 2019 the world has proven to GOD they will have nothing other than 20, 21, 22, 23; now the ball is in GOD's hand /court and the world SHALL see what play /move GOD will make (READY or Not).
20 And he said, That which cometh out of the man, that defileth the man. 21 For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, 22 Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness: 23 All these evil things come from within, and defile the man. (Jew or Gentile this verse applies to the heart of both)
Verse 7~There is a form of worship that is futile. We must make sure that we are worshipping God in the way that he wants as he has showed us in the Bible.
Mable; You bring up a very important part and hard to be understood. The Lord Jesus has kindly and mercifully received us and accepted us by our faith in Him; and He has made us "every whit clean" through the Word which He has spoken to us. And he that is washed needs not anymore, but to wash his feet. We are in the sanctification and growing-up process, unto the discipline of the mind of Christ.
I got thatwe are full of all the sins that GOD doesn't approve of but HE said we are already approved to GOD and we're going to do this but GOD can cleanse us from all those things we are blind by the sins of this world and lust of the world and flesh but we can becleansed from these sinful nature.
Eutychus (lastly); When we are tempted, we are drawn away by our own lusts and enticed. We ALL are the same in that respect. But the one who is truly right with the Lord and walking in truth hates sin and hates the temptations to sin. We hate and war against our own natural desires for what is forbidden, AND WILL NOT YIELD TO THEM! If we ever do, even for a moment; we burn with shame and repent!
Eutychus (cont.); We have to be very careful about what we say, because the things that come from our hearts and innermost thoughts either justify us or condemn us. We have to think about what we say, and WHY we say it. If a man is still wrestling with selfishness and sinning like it was a serious conflict in him or as you call it a rivalry; where is the evidence of grace? Where is the repentance?
Eutychus; I'm glad you bring up these things; for it is a diabolical technique used by the devil through MANY supposed well meaning Pastors and Teachers these days. But let's examine just exactly it is that you're suggesting. What "rivalry" between the LORD God and the devil? And what "rivalry" for the truly saved and converted Believer who wishes to live with a good conscience toward God and man?
