Jael,you need to go back to your bible in the book of 2 Samuel begin to read from chapter 11 and chapter 12, you will see that firstly David slept with this woman and she became pregnant, secondly David killed the uriah(her husband) to cover himself up,thirdly David took the woman as a wife, fourthly, the woman had the baby and the baby died bacause God was not happy with David and fifthly the woman conceive again with her new husband king David and gave birth to Solomon. please dont misunderstand the scripture. Both the first baby that died and Solomon are biologically David sons. Thanks and God bless you.

The book of MATHEW made me to know that GOD want his people to repent of their SIN and to be deliver from their bondages, and also made me to know that before JESUS was FOURTHEEN GENERETIION, so GOD LOVE his people and want us to return back to him.

Matthew 1 reminds me of the long & rich tradition from which comes my Christian faith. So comforting to see oneself within a community that crosses time & space.

I am a combat veteran of the VietNam war. I have read the Bible thru 26 times, but today I noticed something from a veteran's perspective: One would think that the Jews desired to be delivered from their enemies, and that would be what they were focused on while waiting for their Messiah. But God saw (sees) things differently...."...he shall save them from their SINS...." God was more concerned about saving the people of Israel from THEMSELVES, than from their enemies. As a combat veteran, I find that way of thinking....amazing/unbelievable/inconceivable!
I spent my time in war killing my enemies and trying to save civilians from genocide! God, instead, wants to save their SOULS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

@ Jael. You are right about David, he knew the sin he committed & repented but it was not only that incident. David is known as the "Man after God's heart" he always repented before the Lord.
About Solomon, he is David's biological son. When David saw Bathsheba, she was married to Uriah, but David still engaged with her but the first seed that they had died ( 2Sam 12:15-23).

2Sam 12:24-25 says the Lord has extended his mercy to David & Bathsheba & they bore a child called Solomon in hebrew (Jedidaih). At this time Uriah was dead, so it is not possible for Solomon to be Uriah's son.

The King James Version Bible is the true and fully inspired word of God. I remember a very annointed lesson not long ago that was preached at the Pentecostal Youth Fire Conference in Louisville, Kentucky. It was about the King James Version of the the Bible and was found to be the correct word of God. Other versions change words and meanings of words. And in all cases leave out scriptures that were inspired by God. This is a true example of what this world has come to. Churches using the watered down versions of the bible to fit their lifestyle. God doesnt think that it is alright for us to change his ways to fit our lives. in fact it is the total opposite. he wants us to bury the old man and neglect our fleshly desires daily so that we can grow closer to him. much of the gospel is not preached in many religions and even in church denominations. this is a disgrace to God. The new testament is inspired by God as well as the old testament and we dont neglect what the old testament says just because we r under grace. and the jewish books that arent inspired by God are in themselves totally contradictory to the Bible even in the old testament in which they believe in using. some believe once saved always saved and that is contradictory to the bible. i could go on and on about what is wrong. but i know what is right and the bible speaks for itself. anything that is confusing when compared with the scriptures of the bible is not of God. For God is not the author of confusion. if you are saved or claim to be saved then read the word of God and pray and seek his face as well as fast. not only fasting as in not eating but in laying things aside in life so that u can use that time to pray and read the word of God. God will lead u to the answers in this sanctified word of God. and if u dont have a physical bible then i recommend getting a Thompson Chain Reference Bible KJV. God can and will teach those who are willing to learn.

King David was the one who saw the error of his ways when
Nathan told him. He asked God's forgiveness. A rare event in the Bible. Solomon was not his son though . He was Uriah's.

First, and foremost, I believe in every word in the Bible, as well as Matthew Chapter 1. It is the only book in existance known to foretell events that has, and will come to pass. I recognize the signs of our end time, wars, and rumors of wars. Earthquakes in divers places. Disease no man can cure, and so on. The beauty of Jesus Christ is He did not come to force anything on anyone. He offers a choice to follow Him, or burn eternally in HELL. i AM GRATEFUL for the opportunity to spread the GOOD NEWS of life beyond this era. I PRAY for those who don't make it. i think matthew chapter 1 is a clear description that the family tree of Jesus consisted of people that were imperfect yet zealous after God and finally Jesus born in obscurity but in no way insignificant.May His name be praised forever.amen
