We repent to be saved from our sins since we are all sinners ie born into sinful World
Romans 3:23.
The opposite of pride is humility, and one definition of it, which I really like, says, "Humility means agreeing with the truth." Perhaps that is why Paul says that repentance leads us to know the truth so that we can come to our senses ( 2 Timothy 2:25-26).
When I repent and learn to agree with the truth of God's standards of righteousness and sin, I am growing in humility.
God values humility; He shows favor to those who are humble, but He opposes and mocks those who are proud ( Proverbs 3:34, James 4:6). So let's be quick to repent, so that we may grow in humility and receive and enjoy God's favor.
If your conscience is sensitive to the Holy Spirits lead, He will let us know when we are off in a place we should not be.
John chapter 16. He convicts us in our spirit. Then it's time to pray 1 John 1:9 in sorrow that "here I am again."!
1 Corinthians 7, days that it's better to marry, than to burn.
You might read a prophesy or other scriptures that expand the explanation of the verse you are asking about.
This is how I study. Just note it all on a sheet of paper; and then you can put the pencil down and just read.
I'll catch up with you later. Holy Spirit please bless this child of God and teach the Word to her. Explain all mysteries, and bless her diligence. Amen!

Read the center column references beside the verses for extra information.
You'll find that (Judas) Iscariot was written in a prophesy from Psalms. Jesus knew Judas would betray Him, upfront.
Some things you can google and find out how Jesus added each disciple into "the twelve". How they died, etc.

I tell him God does not have a face-book page
This is what happens when someone refuses the word of God. When a person refuses the word of God they are refusing God. (See John 1:1) If any man denies the Lord, he shall be denied. (see 2 Tim. 2:12)
could anyone help me to understand this? Thanks.
Actually, God is so powerful he can choose to operate in our timeframe. Proof of this is people changing God's mind in the Bible. And he loves us enough to give us freewill and ability to choose good or evil.
